So some of my readers didn't like hearing about my dive trip. They wanted a full bore rant. Hey, I did some mini-rants before talking about my trip. But, there are some people who wanted to know about my trip (my sister included) and rather than telling 'em one at a time, I just let 'em read about it. After all, this is a web log, which is really just an online journal. Also, I wanted to stay mellow as long as I could and savor my week of total isolation from the world's bullshit. But now I'm back and dammit, I'm really pissed!
I picked up this from Drudge. There was also this from Newsmax talking about 1993 when Harry Belafonte was singing a different tune.
I don't know about you, but I'm fed up with all this racial bullshit. IFPOTUS (Impeached Former President of the United States), the hillbilly-in-chief was supposed to be the first black president, but under the (sarcasm) racist, bigoted (/sarcasm) George W. Bush we have a black man 4th in line to the presidency. Lets see. IFPOTUS had Hazel O'Leary as Secretary of Energy (What a disgrace she was) and Ron Brown Commerce Secretary. Wouldn't you think the first black president could have done better than that? Let's see some of the shit that Harry Belafonte's been shoveling.

Talk about hate speech. The only plantation that blacks are on in this country today is the liberal plantation. Let a black person stray from the liberal, Dimocrat, socialist plantation and he (or she) is immediately castigated as an Uncle Tom (or Tomette as Cynthia McKinney called Denise Majette. And she was speaking of a liberal Dimocrat!) or an oreo and subject to the most rancorous hate speech imaginable. Get over it!
Belafonte likened Ashcroft's tactics to the McCarthy era:

Holy shit! Round up them citizens! Throw 'em in pens! Whup 'em and torture 'em. Yee haw! We're having a good time now. Just yesterday, one of the Ashcroft Youth members ratted out his parents and they were dragged kicking and screaming into the Gestapo truck. Where do these people get this shit? Are we depriving citizens of rights? I'm pulling down my shades to make sure my neighbors aren't spying on me.
Belafonte also sang the praises of the United Nations as a pillar of global democracy,
That's all we need. Global democracy. Ya know what democracy is? It's two wolves and one sheep voting on what's for dinner. Yeah. Let's have global democracy and put the UN in charge. The first vote would be for the us to give all our money to Third World nations.
and decried President Bush for failing to attend the UN World Conference Against Racism in Durban, South Africa earlier this year.
