I think it's about time for another Cute Cat For Pumpman Week.
Holy shit! That must be Kim du Toit's cat!
Some people shouldn't be allowed to have children. In an earlier post I stated how I would eliminate a lot of poverty in this country. Any woman who went on gummint assistance would be sterilized. If she cannot afford the children she has, she has no business having more of them.
But I digress. This was in Saturday's Atlanta Urinal and Constipation.
A DeKalb County man accused of beating his 2-year-old stepson was charged with murder Friday, police said.
Authorities say Shaun Stewart, 25, had beaten Kyshawn Punter on more than one occasion. The boy had twice been removed by authorities from his home, but each time state welfare officials and judges decided to return him.
The child had been removed twice from this home and the incompetent welfare officials and judges gave him back both times! As far as I'm concerned, they are as guilty as this animal was.
The boy died Thursday of injuries that included severe head trauma and brain swelling. An autopsy Friday determined the death to be a homicide.
"This child was tortured," said DeKalb District Attorney J. Tom Morgan, adding that Stewart would be indicted on murder charges within the next 90 days.
A two year old boy was tortured and killed. Shit like this makes me sick to my stomach.
"Clearly something went wrong," said Perdue spokesman Dan McLagan.
Ya think? But read on.
Dee Simms, head of the state's Office of the Child Advocate, strongly criticized the decision by DFCS and a Juvenile Court judge to return the child to his parents after the first allegation of abuse in June.
"What in God's name made them think it was safe to send the child there?" she said. She cited medical accounts of the boy's injuries, which included numerous bruises, knots and burns on his lower body.
That's the kind of question any rational person would ask. It seems we have sumpin' like this going on about twice a year. Where was the boy's mother?
The boy's mother, Shanderi Punter Stewart, was attending advanced infantry training at Fort Bragg, N.C., when the boy was fatally injured, authorities have determined. She has since returned to the Atlanta area, is making funeral arrangements and is cooperating with DFCS investigators, officials said.
My question is why did this woman marry an animal like this and why did she let him take care of her children?
The 2-year-old boy was removed from his home June 27 after his stepfather spanked and beat him with his hands and a belt, according to a DeKalb arrest warrant. The child was again removed July 11 when police served the arrest warrant, charging his stepfather with child cruelty. He was bonded out by his wife, the boy's mother, July 13, DFCS officials said.
And after these two incidents she trusted this guy with her children? She's just as guilty as he is. This woman should not have been allowed to breed.
State welfare officials say Kyshawn's mother reneged on a plan of safety for the child that included her moving the boy to his grandmother's home in North Carolina.
Instead she left her son with this asshole so he could torture and beat him once again.
Morgan said the child's mother won't likely face criminal charges.
She should! She's just as responsible.
"We can't hold the mother legally responsible for what she is morally responsible for," Morgan said. "It was a mistake to let the child go back with the mother in the first place. . . . Everybody took Mom's word for it [that she would place the children with family in North Carolina], which was a mistake."
And of course there was no followup done.
Kyshawn's death has already prompted one change in the child welfare agency's procedures, Blount-Clark said. In the future, when a parent promises to shift the care of a child to another household, caseworkers will check to ensure that actually occurs, she said.
As I read the next two paragraphs I didn't know whether to cry or to throw up.
A complaint by Lydia Jones of Tucker to DeKalb police began the initial investigation into Kyshawn's welfare. Jones, whose daughter sometimes watched over Kyshawn, was caring for the boy on June 27. She said she saw bruises on his arm and, as she examined him, she found more bruises and burn marks.
"He had burns on his penis, burns in the folds of his thighs and burns on his calf," Jones said. She suspected he had been abused and called police.
And his mother gave him back to the dipshit that did that to her son. Disgusting!
"I was horrified," Jones said. "I couldn't believe someone would do that to a child. He was a beautiful little boy. Big eyes. Beautiful."
"I feel the system has failed this child," she said.
Ya think? Of course there is gonna be an investigation and changes will be made, but in another six months we'll see a similar case. Last year we had a mother leave her child in a car seat in her car all day. This was in the summer. The poor child died of heat stroke. I blogged about it when it happened and I cannot find the entry with all the details.
There was more about this in Sunday's AJC. In this story we get to hear the stepfather's side of the story.
"It was an accident," Shaun Stewart, 25, said in a brief interview before his first court appearance Saturday.
Stewart said the boy, Kyshawn Punter, had injured himself on a DeKalb playground Aug. 8 while he was out of Stewart's sight. When Stewart found the boy, he was unconscious, but he later regained consciousness and felt better, Stewart said. The boy died six days later.
Well Shaun, I think it would be an excellent idea if you were to have an 'accident'.
Stewart denied he beat the boy. "No hand, no physical," he said.
He added that he was shaken by what happened. "Devastated, hurt," he said. "I should have paid more close attention."
You mean you shouldn't have hit him as hard you asshole.
"I had spanked him," said Stewart. "But not to where I tried to kill him."
But you succeeded you worthless piece of shit.
Moreover, he added, "I did not burn him with anything. They keep saying burns, they keep saying that."
That's because there were burns.
Asked what he says to those people who are calling him a murderer, Stewart said, "Of course you're going to say that."
That's because you are one you worthless piece of shit!
Unfortunately, the foster care system in Georgia is not much better. I wrote about that last year. Here is the link
We have another senseless death. There will be an investigation. The stepdad will go to jail. The mother will probably have more children and marry another scumbag. And the cycle will continue.
What a shame.
