I've had some Frogs trolling my French Bashing posts and, by golly, they whre are smart. I am in awe of their intelligence and their cogent debating skills. Here's one. Not the originality of his fake e-mail address.
In 1777, Lafayette purchased a ship, and with a crew of adventurers set sail for America to fight in the revolution against the British. Lafayette joined the ranks as a major general and was assigned to the staff of George Washington. He served with distinction, leading America forces to several victories. On a return visit to France in 1779 Lafayette persuaded the French government to send aid to the Americans. After the British surrender at Yorktown, Lafayette returned home to Paris. He had become a hero to the new nation. At home he cooperated closely with Ambassadors Benjamin Franklin, and then Thomas Jefferson in behalf of American interests.

Well blow me away. Of course we owe a debt of gratitude to Lafayette and France. When we rescued France in World War I, our soldiers exclaimed, "Lafayette, we are here." But the French did not come to our aid during the Revolutionary War for purely altruistic reasons. If they had not been at war with England I doubt if they would had helped us. So we were even. We pay our debts. But then we rescued France yet again in World War II, and speaking of debts, France never paid their war debt to us. We also defended France and the rest of Europe from The Soviet Union during the Cold War, and we had no help whatsover from the feckless Frogs. So what's your point dipshit? France helped us once. We helped France three times and when the EU sinks into bankruptcy and anarchy, we will probaly help again.
And here's an interesting one.
oh my god!!!!!! you guys are SOOOOOO stupid!!! and you really think you represent the americain point of view??!! HELLO!! you are obviously totally clueless and actually don't even know what you are talking about!!! just to quote dennis wilson "I think it would be nice if your women whould shave their armpits"..where do you live?? in the 15th century??! french people shave their arm pits ( and legs and eye brows) as much , if not more than americains!! do you even know your own people...or are you just blind, blinded by dumm prejudices... because..it seems as if you don't remember but just a few year ago many hollywood stars..as julia roberts just to quote one, were flaunting theuir unshaved and VERY hairy arm pits during prmiere ..giving the world a GREAT ( this is irony..but honestly dennis..i really doubt u know that word and understand the concept) image of the americains..so please denni...shut your ugly white trash mouth and stop spitting out dumm and childlike unprooved comments..just one last thing.. have you ever actually been to france?? and i'l shure i won't be mistaking by saying you haven't and therefor are completely unable to judge somthing..someone you DON'T KNOW!! so just be nice 4 a change ..SHUT UPPosted by americain mad at dumm americain taht don't even know what they're talking about!! at September 22, 2003 03:14 PM
I just loved this one. I guess it must of been the Germans who don't shave their armpits. I know I saw it somewhere in Europe. It's the French who don't bathe. And Julia Roberts representing America? Puh-lease! GMAFB! And have I ever been to France? Yep! I was there in 1987. I thought Parisians to be the rudest people I have ever met in my entire life, but hell, even the French who don't live in Paris hate the Parisians. The people in Honfleur weren't too bad. In fact, the concierge at the hotel did not make fun of my attempts to speak French. I also saw the graves at Normandy. Maybe you should go there and see how many people died to keep your pitiful country free. And by your spelling, I don't believe that you are an American but a filthy, smelly Frog.
And now for the last comment. It was obviously written by a very naive young lady who still burns bright with the glow of youthful idealism. Unlike the two previous dipshits, I do not want to insult her, but to point out the errors in her thought processes.
I happened across this site and I was in a dilemma about whether to post or not, because I knew my views would soon be either deleted or mocked. However I would like to say them anyway and I hope that you will be good and open-minded enough to listen to me and consider my opinion, as I did yours.
One of the reasons I allow comments is to have a reasonable discourse. I have actually admitted to a troll that I was wrong about sumpin'. And you can ask Grognard about this. He and I do not agree about the Palestinian problem (other than the fact that Arafat must die, sooner rather than later) but we have been able to honestly debate about the situation both in my comments and offline. I enjoy debating people with differing opinions as long as they use intelligent and honest arguments. Unfortunately, most trolls are unable to do that. If commenters start out a discussion with "you are an ignorant redneck" or "you are so stupid", I know that they are full of shit. I usually make fun of them or let some of my more intelligent commenters do so.
When I came across your site, at the beginning I thought that it was tongue-in-cheek. When I continue down to find it was not, I almost had a heart attack at the age of fifteen, my heart was going so fast! The thing is that I have a huge problem with what you wrote, but I don't want to descend to being rude like you (British have a thing about manners I'm afraid.)
Believe it or not, so do Americans. And believe it or not, since you were polite to me, I will be polite to you and respect your opinions. I do plan to point out, politely I hope, where you are wrong.
When you said 'America is superior to France. We have more freedoms. We are wealthier. We are more powerful.' I felt a bit sick. In my opinion, no person or country is superior to another, but equal regardless of race, age, sex or nationality. (Is that not the opening statement in the UN statement of Human rights, that you were talking about?)
So, in your mind, do you think that Nazi Germany was the equal of Great Britain? Should we have let Hitler conquer Europe and annihilate the Jews? Do you think that a country like Saudi Arabia that allows no rights to women is the equal of Great Britain where women are equal to men? Is Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe, who is starving his opposition equal to Desmond Tutu. Or was Stalin equal to Mother Teresa? And, I'm sorry that I cannot take the UN seriously on human rights when they have Syria and Libya on the Human Rights Commisssion.
I also do not believe that you have more freedoms than the rest of the Western World, if I stood up in Time Square, New York and talked about my fears of America, I would be torn apart by a Lynch Mob, is that really freedom?
I do not know where you are getting this idea that America is a repressive state. If you stood up in Times Square and talked about your fears of America you would not be torn apart by a lynch mob. There would be people who aqreed with you and people who would laugh at you, but no one would tear you apart. In Times Square you would probably have more to fear from perverts, winos, and pedophiles. We have freedom of speech in this country and we will allow anyone to say just about anything. e.g. Michael Moore, Alec Baldwin, Barbra Streisand, Ed Asner, Martin Sheen, George Clooney Susan Sarandon, Tim Robbins. The list is endless.
Do you really have democracy?
No. We have a constitutional republic.
George Bush got in only by help of his brother, by making voting so difficult for people, especially blacks.
Please find me one instance of any black person denied the right to vote in Florida. This is a myth. It didn't happen. I'm not trying to make fun of you here, but do you get your news from the Guardian?
I agree that you are richer than every other country, but mainly it is by making other Countries an awful lot poorer. For example by pushing in all your cheap food exports into countries like Haiti, so local farmers starve. I also agree that America is more powerful, but this is what gives me nightmares at night, no other country can control you, you could kill everyone with your Nuclear Weapons, as we have seen a Prophecy of in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, but it would be thousand times worse.
Yet, at the end of World War II, when we stood alone, the most powerful country in the world what did we do? Did we tell the Soviet Union to get out of Eastern Europe or we'd nuke Moscow? Nope. We went home and downsized our military just like we have done after every other war.
I must admit that as a normal, white, middle-class, privately educated British schoolgirl, I am more scared about what the USA can/will do (only a matter of time) than what the Axis of Evil can do. And I know that nobody can stop you with your army, the largest in the world, being bigger than the next nine put together, that's what makes me cry.
We did not start the War on Terror. War was declared on us on September 11, 2001. America has always been slow to anger. But, when you piss us off we react. You do not need to worry about the United States nuking your country. You do have to worry about radical Islam using weapons of mass destruction.
Why should France be de-nuked? They have as much right to have Nuclear Weapons as America.
We haven't called for France to be de-nuked.
Just because we live in Europe, do not treat us like we are undeveloped, uncivilised savages, because we are not.
You Brits aren't. You bathe. The French? That's different.
I agree that from my experience, the French are, on the whole, an unfriendly people, in contrast to Americans, who I have found much kinder. (Until coming to this site.)
I love the British. I hate the French. I hate Dimocrats. I hate fucktards.
I have met a lot of Americans, because my father is one and I have dual-nationality. But I can't believe that you said that you wish all of the frenchman's family had died! If you meant it, that is evil!
The asshole insulted me, I insulted him back. I pointed out that a lot of brave Americans died to free his country, he made light of their deaths by claiming that American bombs killed part of his family. Would it have been better that we not freed his country? Obviously he thought so.
The french may be less friendly than Americans, but atleast they are not destroying the environment as much, with pollution and deforestation.
The liberal socialist indoctrination is working. Next you are going to say that we should sign on to Kyoto which would result in economic ruin. Much as the environazis would have you believe, we are not destroying the planet. Y'know where the worst deforestation is occuring? In the rainforests of South America.
Personally, I would still like there to be a beautiful world for my children, in fifty years time.
But if worldwide socialism were to be implemented, you could kiss that dream goodbye. The worst polluters over the last fifty years were the Soviet Union and the Eastern Bloc nations.
Lastly, I just wish to remind you that borders and sea do not make a difference, we are all equal humans (not cockroaches as one post said!) I hope you will respect my opinions.
We are not equal humans. Be thankful that you were not taught that lesson by Uday and Qusay Hussein. Calling them cockroaches would be insulting cockroaches everywhere.
Since you are British let me give you a quote from a great British leader, Winston Churchill: "If you are not a liberal in your twenties, you have no heart. If you are not a conservative in your thirties, you have no brain." Get back to me in fifteen years and we'll talk.
Thanks for stopping by and remember, the truth can be very painful.
