Before I start I have a few items of interest.
My friend Cindy found her pictures. Yay! Huh? See this post to see what I'm talking about. She told me her husband, Michael, lost a spreadsheet for his coin collection. I told her if he knows the extension of the file name, we can recover that also.
Kelley has put up some pictures of the Jawja Blog Meetup. There is even one of me in non-grouchy mode. Of course, it's because I'm getting a hug from Kelley.
I hope that no TCIDNN managers see this picture. Silly me! They're too stupid to use the internet.
Did anyone see Howard Dean on Hardball Monday night? He mentioned the Soviet Union not once, but four times! As Howard Fineman pointed out on Tuesday night's Hardball, Chris Matthews gave him a pass on the fact that the Soviet Union doesn't exist anymore. If Bush had made that gaffe, it would have been on the front page of the New York Times and the Washington Post. The liberal pundits would be trumpeting about how dumb Bush was. In regards to Howard Dean's gaffe the silence has been deafening. Liberal media bias? Nah!
And when asked about his foreign policy experience, he said he would rely on advice from Jimmy Carter and Madeleine Albright. Now that makes me feel real good. Oh, by the way, here is the transcript of the Hardball episode, and here is one paragarph:
Also, we have less-fewer levers much the key, I believe, to Iran is pressure through the Soviet Union. The Soviet Union is supplying much of the equipment that Iran, I believe, most likely is using to set itself along the path of developing nuclear weapons. We need to use that leverage with the Soviet Union and it may require us to buying the equipment the Soviet Union was ultimately going to sell to Iran to prevent Iran from them developing nuclear weapons.
Thank you Howard Dean for demonstrating your grasp of foreign policy. Now, can you tell me about Lower Slobovia? Howza 'bout Elbonia?
Good golly! I got following in the mail the other day about this post:
For posterity's sake (and not that I expect you to bring it up on your site), I did not say we would like to run Cynthia simply because she's an 'African-American woman.' There was a healthy chunk of conversation that the reporter left out on that one. And I find it quite surprising to see that you think that Cynthia 'hates white people', as I've spent hours talking with her and haven't detected even the mildest form of disrespect. As for the supposed bigotry against Jews, the first and last thing McKinney has ever said about Jews in general is when she spoke in favor of human rights for Palestinians and suggested that AIPAC has far too much influence on the Hill. Her father, of course, is a different story entirely... As for the last reply to the article by 'attorneypatti', said woman is no more Jewish than Louis Farrakhan, if that gives you any indication as to the veracity of the rest of her statement. Thanks for your time, Marc Reichardt, Chair, Green Party of Michigan
Well Marc, I will bring it up on my site. I have lived in Georgia since 1985. Cynthia McKinney first ran for Congress in 1990 and I was here. I have lived in her old district since 1998 and I have friends who have lived in her old district since 1990. Her campaigns have always been racially devisive, especially her last campaign where she labeled Denise Majette a sellout to white folks. She claims that it was the white crossover vote in Dunwoody that did her in. Actually it was the black vote in Stone Mountain who, tired of her racially devisive politics, voted her out in the primary. I sincerely hope that she finds a home in the Loony Green Party.
And Marc, thanks for writing.
This may be a hoax since the e-mail address is dystopia@wwnet.com, but golly, it was such a funny e-mail, I just couldn't help myself.
I wrote a post back in August titled Bullshit 101 when I found out that Cornell was gonna pay Cynthia money to spew bullshit in a classroom. A Cornell student who attended her bullshit act sent me this link to an article in the Cornell Daily Sun as to what went on in Cynthia's first appearance at Cornell. Here's the first paragraph:
Imagine walking past M-c-K-i-n-n-e-y on Ho Plaza, asking "Hi. Isn't the weather great here?" Her response: "Yes. Bush did steal the election, because as MLK said… so in conclusion, I always fought for blacks in Florida while in Congress." As the second person to pose questions at her "What Kind of America" speech on Nov. 19, I swear this is basically all her standard response entails.
Go ahead. Read the rest of it.
And with that, I'm done for the night.
Posted by denny at December 2, 2003 09:44 PMI could be way off my rocker here, but shouldn't the next president of the United States at least know the basics of the English language? I don't think I've ever heard anyone (other than myself when I forget to proof-read and 13 yr old boys) butcher our language like Dean. Maybe we should send him back to pubik skool to get some edumacation or something.....Those dems sure do like their pubik skools...

Dang it, Denny! It only takes one photo to blow your cover as a grouch! Sheesh!

Posted by: Oldbones on December 3, 2003 08:24 PMYears ago, Spy magazine asked several politicians for their take on the state of things in...Freedonia.
They all spewed mindless blather about their support of human rights in...Freedonia.
Somebody please ask Howard Dean for his take on the state of things in...Freedonia.
Heh heh heh.
