In my experience, the more one rants about some supposed slight to their "honor", the less honorable they are.

A few years back I was interviewing job applicants for 20 low level positions at the copany I worked for. One of my standard questions was "what would expect from your coworkers?". There was this odd trend where about one out of every five women said "respect". Upon performing background checks on the women who wanted "respect", I found that in every case they were lowlifes. Minor to major legal troubles ranging from drug convictions, DUI's, shoplifting all the way up to fraud. God knows what crimes they committed and didn't get busted for.

Some people simply do not understand that respect is something you earn and that honor is about how you conduct yourself. Petty criminals will never get respect and those without honor can never have their honor offended.

I say we just nuke a few sites and really give the Red Cross something to complain about.

I don't think that people realize that in order to win a war you must be willing to be as dedicated to your cause as your enemy. After WWII the UN (helped along by the US) decided that there should be an Israeli state because very few people wanted the influx of displaced Jewish people. The Jewish people said this would be great! We would like to have a state of Israel so that we can have a place to call our own. Well so the UN got to working and said "Cool, let their be a state of Israel!" everyone clapped and said oh goody! We don't have to have a bunch of Jewish people in our country. I have not ended my friendship with the person mentioned in my earlier comment. In fact, I'll see him in June for two weeks at a seminar that my husband hosts. I simply asked my friend to stop sending me hateful forwards because I don't like to talk about politics with friends (doesn't mean that I won't, but I usually don't want to). The subject matter of his emails didn't bother me nearly as much as the fact that he disregarded and disrespected my request.

Shit, if one doesn't like to talk politics with friends, what kind of friends are they? 'Sounds like some shallow relationships built on intimidation and fear.

I just had dinner with my dad and he slapped me so hard that I thought I was going to spoodge myself!
