Ya know, I try. I really try. I do not want to see people making fools of themselves and holding themselves up to public ridicule. On my comments screen it states
If you are a troll you will be humiliated and your comments will be edited. I do not put up with bullshit. You may speak now...
How much more specific can I be? Yet, there are still booger eatin' moh-rons willing to display their abysmal ignorance and stupidity for all the world to see.
Sometimes I am even nice enough to rebut their pitiful arguments in the comments so only the people who read the comments can see how incredibly stupid these trolls can be. (And to Dralon who asked me what a troll was, read on.) Sometimes I do nothing and let my more intelligent readers like Addison, xCavTrooper, Grognard, and lately Paul, take them on.
Sometimes they become so idiotic, that I have no choice but to let my readers who do not peruse the comments see what kind of troll droppings are left there.
<RodSerling>Submitted for your approval, one Brandon, who claims to work for a Fortune 500 company, made some comments on this post and damned if he didn't mention Haliburton. I'm shocked! Shocked, I say. We are about to enter the Idiot Zone</RodSerling>
Isn't Taco Bell owned by PepsiCo which is a Fortune 500 company? Anyway, he also told me to go back to the first grade and find out what a real democracy was. I also pointed out that the United States wasn't a democracy but a constitutional republic. I also told him I probably paid more in taxes than he made because he was such a loser.
By golly, he decided to put me in my place with this comment, which I post unchanged.
Hey Big Denny. I have a college degree but you da man. The only way you express your emotions is by talking about your insecurities and using fowl language. Believe me, no one that is in your so-called tax bracket admits that they're making that. And if your a liberitarian, that means you have a democratic base except you smoke weed too, and believe in a more natural evolution of society. I'm a political science and environemental major. Don't feed me your insecurities Den den. Anyone can talk shit. It's called a stance too, not a talking point. And this is a Democracy, where the people are the government (or are supposed to be). You try history you fuckin Yuppie, braggin about how much you make. Please, you see Ralph Nadar braggin about how much he makes. Please.. Your the definition of arrogance....which doesn't make you any political party....just an asshole. Go discover yourself and come out the closet. Put on your pink shirt and your tassles on and go piss on some pissants pal. Looks like I got somebody pissed, my intentions. thank you.
Brandon violated one of the first rules of trying to make me look stupid. I have covered this many times. If you want to insult my intelligence, please try to spell correctly. The phrase is "foul language" not "fowl language". I realize that you are probably too poor to have access to a dictionary, and if you did, would not know how to use it. Here's a site that can help you out.
You obviously know nothing about Libertarians except that you think they smoke weed. They believe in following the Constitution which unfortunately, neither the Dimocrats nor Republicans seem to want to.
I especially like the part about him being a "political science and environemental major". Brandon, you may want to go hit the dictionary again as that would be "environmental" not "environemental". And if you are a political science major you're not doing too well if you do not know that the United States is not a democracy but a constitutional republic. C'mon, tell us the truth. You're attending one of those schools that advertise on matchbook covers aren't you? You better ask for your money back.
You try history you fuckin Yuppie, braggin about how much you make.
Actually I am very well versed in history. I'll debate you on history anytime you want. Name the time and place. Yep. I make a lot of money. Do you know why? Because I worked hard and learned a lot. No one has ever handed me anything pal. I worked hard to get it. I stated that I probably pay more in taxes than you make to point out what a fucking loser you are and always will be. Taco Bell doesn't really pay that much does it?
Your the definition of arrogance
That would be "you're" the definition of arrogance. You also said "your a liberitarian" which would be "you're a libertarian". Slept through English class I see. Yeah. I'm arrogant. I look down on stupid pissants like you.
Go discover yourself and come out the closet.
Come out the closet? Do you mean "come out of the closet"? What closet is that? The closet that makes me superior to you because I have a brain and know how to use it?
Brandon. Good luck with your life. Keep practicing saying, "Do you want fries with that?"
And that brings us to Matthew Goodsell, which cannot be his real name since anyone who writes (and I use that term loosely) as bad as this dipstick writes couldn't possibly be proud enough to sign his real name. I did not alter these comments.
any levey-headed 5 y/o can see through these arguments: for one, it is conservatism rather than liberalism which ignores facts, steadffastly clinging to its view that america is alwways right byy default, that the book of genesis is true, that poor people are "jjust lazy". I mean, duh!and i suggest you read marx. socialism isn't perfect, but its a damn sight better than this self-centred, pig-ignorant "the arabs are out to get us" bullshit that you pedal as the truith.
I am speechless! Have you ever seen a better example of a self fisking comment? Matthew's spelling and sentence structure make Brandon look like a genius.
How can I possibly point out to this asshole that the Soviet Union collapsed, that North Korea and Cuba are shitholes, and that of all the western industrial nations the one that is least socialist, the United States, has the lowest unemployment and the highest standard of living? But Matthew did get sumpin' right.
I mean, duh!

As in Chicken Shit? Man, I'd like to have a beer with this guy. Actually, I'd rather just have a beer.
Posted by: Matt Ashby on June 15, 2004 11:00 PMYou could play bar games with him all night and never have to buy a beer. I actually thought for a millesecond that the fowl language comment might be a play on words, but decided that puns were beyond his intelligence.

Denny, as repartee, that response is quite humorous. The sad likelihood, however, is that Brandon probably did get his abysmally deficient "education" from one of our accredited institutions of "higher learning". Given his choice in majors, the probability is heightened.
Posted by: Ryan on June 15, 2004 11:41 PMAnytime someone talks about how good Marxism is I can't help but wonder if they're just a deadbeat who still lives with their parents.

"Environemental"
Denny, I think Brandon is preparing for an Ebonics exam. Its an extra credit course that will go towards his degree.
Fowl language? Cluck cluck, B'WAWK! Brandon done laid himself an egg.
And these assholes think WE are the stupid ones.
Carful now.. these are the assholes who will be hired to run companies as junior execs because they have a piece of paper that says they're all learned up, collegieated and smartified. They'll be hired by the same asshole senior execs with the same papers who are just one generation off. What has higher education come to?
We're doomed.
"Higher education" for Brandon would be learning to say, "Usted deseo pappas fritas con eso?"
Posted by: F451 on June 16, 2004 07:07 AMWith MBA's being used as toilet paper we're supposed to be impressed by a PoliSci degree? I don't think either one of these gremlins (they're not intelligent enough to be trolls) are qualified to ask if you want fries. So Marx is wonderful - but no mention of Engels? Lenin? Stalin? How disappointing!
I have close friends who, because they are UAW Union members, refuse to have me send them anything that might disparage Donks. Branded and Maffew fit right in with them - they already know all they need to know in order to be absolutely fuckin' ignorant.

Razor sharp as always, Denny. Quack the left. Chirp those Mother-peepers.

What a worthless combination.
I am sure Fidel would love to have some one like Matthew come to Cuba to live. I understand they always need more bodies to cut sugar cane. Perhaps he can take that "environementalist", Brandon, along.

I want to be rich too, but I'll have to work my butt off. If you want to make money then listen to the advice of those who MADE the money!
About the top execs with papers, just look what is happening at Kodak- asleep at the wheel for too long!
Hey, but I'm just a dumb redneck...
Posted by: Dumb Redneck on June 16, 2004 10:03 AMPolitical Science and Environmental major. Is that a combined degree now?
Considering how useless the political science degree is, I suppose they had to appeal to foolish Leftist (but I repeat myself) undergraduates somehow. Why not combine two utterly useless degrees to make one über-useless degree? Pure genius.
As to Matthew, the rapaciously ignorant child:
...socialism isn't perfect, but its a damn sight better than this...
Do you want fries with that? Sounds like his IQ and logic needs to be 'super-sized."
He keeps using lofty words like 'ass-hole.' Me thought for a bit he was Anal Retentive...don't thing so. Crapulent didn't fit.
Perhaps somewhere between Crepuscular and Feculent.

As Ryan said earlier. I asked my daughter recently what "Advise and Consent" meant in relation to Senate confirmation of Cabinet and Judicial nominations. She couldn't answer me, said all her "Political Science" was about Europe.
She just graduated "cum laude" from Virginia Tech with a degree in, you guessed it, Politcial Science.
I think she realizes that she got snookered for around $100,000 or so for tuition, etc. She took a job with a plumbing supply company and is learning business now.
I am so depressed. Not becasue of her job choice which is actually a good one but the idea that you go to college for 4 years and come out knowing less than I did in 11th grade civics.
Posted by: Jesse Brown on June 17, 2004 06:24 AMSo PoliSci is sort of like Criminal Justice? A four year fleecing unless you go into law enforcement? Just another way to take your money and give you absolutely nothing in return in how to earn a living.
That's why I love the 2 year technical community colleges. My daughter graduated as a R.N. Now making more than her mother. Yeah! Now I get a high-quality nursing home when my time comes!
And Brass, the Taco Bells in Virginia do sell french fries. Covered with chili and cheese. Makes your arteries harden just looking at the picture. Yeck.

I don't know whom your "other" source is, but either they can't spell or you're too stupid to copy and paste. Arguments are taken much more seriously when written properly.
It's lonely at the bottom, isn't it Matthew, you sick fucking bottom-feeding Communist!
I don’t know anything about Darwinism, but so far it sounds like a big load of shit. The rights of the individual outweigh the rights of the community? WTF? Human nature is very selfish indeed, but we enact laws and other programs to help level the playing field. Furthermore, communities cannot grow and prosper in the absence of individual achievement, which is why societies must promote individual achievement. We promote achievement by creating the opportunity to make a profit, which is completely against your sick fucking Communist mental disorder. Not everybody will make a profit because WE ARE NOT ALL EQUAL. But, we offer EQUAL OPPORTUNITY TO ALL. We do not believe in rewarding based on need. Instead, we believe in rewarding based on achievement, and we help those in need to achieve. This works. It always has. If the opposite were true, the Soviet Union would still exist. Unfortunately, you and the rest of you sick fucking Europeans are headed back towards Communism, under the guise of Socialism. And yes, we’ll be there to kick your ass once again.
And guess what, we conservatives preach acceptance also. We want all peoples of every race, color, and religion to achieve. This is why we operate all over the world, kicking ass in the name of freedom, liberty, and justice for all. Yes, we even want Muslims to achieve, but they have to want freedom first. And we also take care of our mentally and physically handicapped population. I have personally performed community service for handicapped people out of choice. Our government provides assistance, and we conservatives are very much in support of that. So get off your “conservative ethos” horse, and shove it up your ass, pal!
One more thing, I am personally insulted by your term, “new crip”. You’re preaching your “acceptance” bullshit on this web site, yet you insult the host by calling him a “new crip”. Oh, the hypocrisy. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Here’s one for you – you’re nothing but a Wanker Communist. Rot in Hell, idiot.
Whoa, calm down there buddy. There's a big difference between Communism and Eurosocialism, and there's no way Europe's headed down that path.
Posted by: Eric on June 17, 2004 11:01 PMPaul. given that you see fit to call me, as a liberal, a communist, I can just as rightly call you a faccist, but I won't. I amm not a communist, and you aren't a faccist.
I might point out, however, that there is a contradiction in your analysis: conservitism is about dependence on oneself, but you say it seeks to support others. the only way this can fairly be done is through systems like welfare state, which are leftist initiatives. Therefore "pure" conservitism takes a leissez fair approach, with consequences similar to those I outlined above.
moreover, to say thhat conservatism offers equal opportunity for all is a myth: the established bougiouse will favour itself and deliberately surpress the proletariat. We can see evidence of this in the education system: if this was truly meritocratic, rich and poor students would be roughly equally devided between private and public schools, bbut it isn't. thus the conservative-ruled education system keeps the classes (forgive the pun) devided. conservitives only seek to maintain their own wealth to the detrement of others, which I find grossly unfair.
Posted by: matthew goodsell on June 18, 2004 09:58 AMMatthew, what isn't fair is the liberal notion that private education enrollment should have a balanced roster of rich and poor. What a load of crap! You sound as if wealthy people shouldn't exist. You sound as if the wealthy should give it all away to bring up the poor. Listen carefully. Attack the rich, and the entire society becomes poorer. Eliminate the wealthy, and you have eliminated the opportunity and hope for the entire society. You indeed are a Communist.
We do offer equal opportunity for all. Its called, you have an equal right to get off your ass and make something of yourself here in America. We implement civil rights laws to combat discrimination and harrassment so both men and women, heteros and homos, black and white, all people will have the opportunity to prosper. This is so fucking unbelievably elementary. The welfare state only creates a society of dependaets. Is that what you want? You want a society of people depending on some formal bureacracy to ensure that noone has more than another? Holy shit man! Conservatives seek to maintain their wealth at the detriment of others? You actually sign up to that bullshit philosophy? Here comes the clue train!!! Wealthy people maintain their wealth through hard work and dedication! Most poor people like yourself maintain poverty through bitterness and begging. So once again, Matthew, fuck you Communist. I'll never sign up to your way of thinking. NEVER! And guess what, I'm not wealthy either! But, I believe that if I continue to work hard, learn, and devote myself to my family, my community, and my career, that I'll reap the benefits of my hard work and so will those around me. So fuck off! If selfish people like you destroy the rich, then those people like me who aspire will having no opportunity at all. Stay in Europe.
Posted by: Paul on June 18, 2004 12:13 PMMatthew - Unfortunately it is the liberals in this country who support the failed school systems. The RWPPs (Race Warlord Poverty Pimps)send their children to private schools while opposing vouchers. Vouchers are a conservative idea opposed by liberals. Liberals also oppose accountability in gummint schools. It is the liberals in the form of teachers unions who have destroyed the public schools. Us greedy conservatives want an educated populace as that will generate more money for us. Liberals want a brainwashed populace who will vote for Dimocrats and their failed socialist policies.
Posted by: Denny Wilson on June 18, 2004 01:05 PMEric - I hope you're right, but it doesn't look too good in Europe right now. Steven Den Beste at USS Clueless had an interesting post about the EU's slippery slide toward Soviet style socialism. He compares the growth of the French and German economies to the growth of the economy of the United States. The Dimocrats are trying to make a big deal out of an unemplyment rate of 5.4 % (Which is the unemployment rate that Clinton ran on in 1996). France and Germany would love to have an unemployment rate that low. If I recall, both countries are up around 10%. As he points out, making it hard to lay people off during lean times makes companies reluctant to staff up during boom times. Thus they staff for recessions. Hence high unemployment.
Posted by: Denny Wilson on June 18, 2004 01:11 PMWhat I pretty much meant was that I didn't think Europe would ever go down the road of totalitarian Communism that places like the Soviet Union and their satellite Eastern European nations had during the 20th century. That is, Europe may get more controlling in terms of their economy, but I doubt they'll ever get ultra-repressive in terms of political speech.
Posted by: Eric on June 18, 2004 11:14 PMOne more thing, this Matthew kid goes and says he isn't a Communist, then he uses words like "proleteriat."
Them oppressed working class citizens, bein kept in slavery by the evil oppressors known as Profit and Capital.
Posted by: Eric on June 18, 2004 11:16 PMEric - From some of your comments I assume you must be from somewhere in Europe? For your sake, I hope you are right about not sliding all the way down into soviet style socialism.
Posted by: Denny Wilson on June 18, 2004 11:41 PMEric:
Ultra-repressive in terms of speech? You mean, like outlawing oh, say, opinions on homosexuality? Or religion?
I dunno, seems like they might have already gotten there. Of course, the Right Speech is fine, of course, yes. yes. But not that hateful Wrong Speech. (so far, they haven't banned political speech directly, but indirectly I'm seeing a lot of exactly that).
Posted by: Addison (the other one) on June 19, 2004 12:27 AMMatthew:
"moreover, to say thhat conservatism offers equal opportunity for all is a myth"
My senior year high school team was pretty good. Incredibly good, in my opinion. We had 16 seniors, played ironman, had played together since we were 8. Had you put us on the field with any serious college team, we'd have been smashed. (most of us had offers, but few took them. Heck, I was 6'2, 190, and the offensive tackle (and defensive end)).
But that would have been an "equal" opportunity, no? So was it wrong when we beat other teams, that had people slower, or weaker than us, or who had less good coaches, or had spent less time practicing?
There's no way to quantify all that. Much less to use the sporting term, handicap it. Oddsmakers do it, to a degree, but it's still a guess. The game has to be played, the fat lady has to sing.
The problem with taking away that opportunity via wealth redistribution runs into the same problem the USSR did. Why should I work harder if you get the benefit? Maybe I will, because I like you. Maybe I will because I owe you a favor. But more likely, when we don't know each other? I'm going to do what I have to, and no more. That's the whole point between equal opportunity. Yes, you have the OPPORTUNITY to start a software company and make billions. Talk to Mark Andresson. Look at Linux Torvolds, who _gave away_ his work, and has succeeded in incredible fashion.
"the established bougiouse will favour itself and deliberately surpress the proletariat."
And that doesn't happen in welfare systems? Didn't happen in the Soviet Union? Sure it did. The only "advantage" those had/have are statistical - there's usually less difference between the haves and have nots than in more capitalist societies. Because everyone has less.
"The law, in its majestic equality, forbids the rich as well as the poor to sleep under bridges, to beg in the streets, and to steal bread." - Thibault
But which has produced a system more equal? In the US, for instance, right now the hot button item is that the biggest health problem our impoverished have is they're obese!
Let me repeat that. This horribly failed society has created a problem: There's too much food for the poor! The poor! Have too much food! (I dare you to tell someone in a famine area, especially one of the famines assisted and perpetuated by the UN, that) The poorest people, on average have now, more than 1 car apiece! Have TVs, cable, even! Think about the luxuries the poor downtrodden capitalist workers have, versus those in the workers "paradises'.
It's even a longer issue than that, and I've taken up enough of Denny's space. But you're saying that the result is unfair, because yuou don't like it. And as a result, you want to change the rules, so that everyone suffers. Well, where in the world does it work that way? (I'll give partial credit to one answer, and full to another).
Posted by: Addison (the other one) on June 19, 2004 12:46 AMDenny - I'm in California. I'm just saying this based on what I know of Europe. Although on Monday I'm going on a vacation with my family to Britain and Spain.
addison - Yeah I heard about that stuff from Canada and elsewhere. It's troubling, but it's still a far cry from a Soviet-style police state. Of course that doesn't mean I approve of these uptight PC rules.

I hope you're right, and the situation is improving, but my point is that the wealfare state should exists when such dreams fail, and hence the government should take an active role. shit happens, and some of us arent blessed with the ability to cease the opportunity to prosper.

My point is that that means nobody prospers. Besides which, how are you going to define "dreams failing"? I'm almost 33, and I have yet to have a bevy of supermodels catering to my every whim. So does that mean I get to have a government agency order supermodels for me? :)
Posted by: Addison (the other one) on June 19, 2004 07:57 PMT'other Addison, I take your point, and I can be rather vague at times.
