I accidentally ran across ya while looking in Google for something because I'm compiling some facts for a friend of mine who is on the fence, politically and I feel may be enlightened.

I'm sure you were wondering what it was I was googling for and wound up at your site, well it was the 'camel nose under the tent' comment you made about the trial lawyers having so much litigation w/ the healthcare system and how the dimocrats are loving it.

Anyway, just thought I'd pop in here to tell you I stayed awhile and perused some other parts of your blog (not the fake boobie naked girl parts though LOL) and have enjoyed it thus far. Find it pretty refreshing to have run across such a site that entertains AND that I agree with for the most part. Too many crunchy stinky hippie bloggers out there.

And I hate to nitpick, but why is he holding what appears to be an AK-47 (variation) instead of the GI M-16? Is it a trophy?

Because the m16 sucks for 90% of the fighting they are doing over there.

It does not suck, you just have to keep it clean, they learned all those tricks back in the first gulf war. The M-16 is a good weapon as long as your good to it. But I do admit the AK can be beaten into the ground and still fire.

It takes a lot for a man to look that cute even after 24 hours with no sleep. He's cornering the market in sleepy cuteness!

gotta keep it clean. especially if it's one of the pseudo A2 travesties, (old A1's "upgraded" to A2 spec) that i was issued as a reservist. these "upgrades" are so bad, that, (what are the odds of this?) i had to file down the feed ramps on not just mine, but my troop's weapon with my GD F---ing leatherman, so it would actually chamber a round. mind you that i discovered this while we were assuming duty on a guard tower in balad. at night. in mortar, and take pot shots at us central. the piss poor machining of these "A2's" would actually gouge the bullet as it tried to feed, and hang up on the neck of the casing. (we weren't supposed to locked and loaded-yeah, right. OK.) it was not a comfy time or place to practice advanced macgyverism by flahlight, but i get er done. sometimes, non-panicky, old fart NCO's come in handy.
