How many people remember this person?

On July 18, 1969 (or the wee hours of July 19), Ted Kennedy drove his car into the water and saved his worthless ass and left Mary Jo Kopechne to drown. Had he been one of us common people and not a member of the deified Kennedy aristocracy (The family that has had so many tragedies - Sob!) he would have been convicted of manslaughter at the very least. Think of this every time you hear this asshole pontificate about justice and the like. I once heard him say he was "morally outraged" at sumpin'. How can one be morally outraged when one has no morals whatsoever? Asshole!

Biggest tragedy I see here is he lived and she drowned.
Posted by: Deathknyte on July 19, 2004 10:37 PMI wonder how that fat, drunken, useless bastard can sleep at night.
RIP Mary Jo
Posted by: A Sailor in the Desert on July 20, 2004 05:35 AMWhen you go to bed drunk every night it's not too hard to sleep. A better question is how can the voters who keep reelecting this asshole sleep at night?

Posted by: radtec on July 20, 2004 04:21 PMReminds me of a time once at a bar in Dallas (boy, how many stories starting that way can have a good ending?) - the band was playing a song called "Dead Kennedys", targeted to Teddy, lyrics something like:
You're a drunk and your father's a drunk,
You're a drunk and your mother's a drunk,
You're a drunk and your brothers are dead and your car doesn't float!
Somehow, I think this is funnier if you're at a bar in Dallas, just down the road from Dealy Plaza (Matt, go look it up, 11/22/63)
Posted by: Daniel on July 20, 2004 04:33 PMJust out of the Navy in early 1968, as a desk clerk at a airport Hilton Inn, I checked Teddy in (what 35 yrs. of boozing does to a body!!)
Too bad in-room movies were not available. I would have suggested 'A Bridge Too Far'
Posted by: SloopJohn on July 21, 2004 08:27 AMI kid you not - Teddy Kennedy has two dogs, and one of them is named "Splash".
What breed you say? Portugese Water Dog.
Now THAT is Chutzpah.
