The Cubic Zirconium Network

Golly. CBS finally admits it was duped.

"Based on what we now know, CBS News cannot prove that the documents are authentic, which is the only acceptable journalistic standard to justify using them in the report," said the statement by CBS News President Andrew Heyward. "We should not have used them. That was a mistake, which we deeply regret.

No dickwad. You regret getting caught.

"Nothing is more important to us than our credibility and keeping faith with the millions of people who count on us for fair, accurate, reliable, and independent reporting," Heyward continued. "We will continue to work tirelessly to be worthy of that trust."

Too late. From now on people are gonna laugh at your news division. Already your new motto "Fake But Accurate" is all over the internet. The only way you can salvage your reputation is if heads roll. The head of CBS News should resign. Dan Rather should resign or be canned.

But Rather was duped you may say. It was his producer who should have researched it better.

Nope. Rather wanted to believe it. In fact he does believe it. He's stated so. The fact that the documents were forgeries is irrelevant to him. Here's a portion of Gunga Dan's statement.

But we did use the documents. We made a mistake in judgment, and for that I am sorry. It was an error that was made, however, in good faith and in the spirit of trying to carry on a CBS News tradition of investigative reporting without fear or favoritism.

Good faith my ass! You believe the story Dan. I love that "investigative reporting without fear of favoritism". Or accuracy. And favoritism? The Swift Boat Veterans For Truth story wan't even a blip on your radar. By the way Dan, Unfit For Command has been number one on the New York Times Besteller List for the last three weeks. BWAHAHAHAHAHA!

CBS is no longer the Tiffany network. It is now the Cubic Zirconium Network.

I had another chat with my buddy who worked for IBM in the 70's fixing typewriters. One of the liberal websites, I think it was the Daily Dickhead, said that Executive typewriters were very common. I asked him if that were true. He said that out of a territory of one thousand typewriters only five or ten of them were Executives. He said that you had to be a real good typist to use one, especially if you made a mistake and had to figger out how many spaces to go back after erasing or whiting out the character.

He said there was one other problem with them. If you didn't watch them carefully, they had a tendency to type fake memos. Why do you think Jimmah Carter got routed so badly in the 1980 election? And let's not even bring up Walter Mondale.

If they had been around in 1992 Clinton would have never been elected.

I think the Cubic Zirconium Network is far to generous. Perhaps the Broken Shard of Glass Network

CBS= Can't Believe Shit!

The fact that Rather didn't bother to apologise for his intemperate outburst(s) - to the people who were right, when he was wrong - shows his true colors.

He should apologise to the people who he maligned, at the very least. But you're exactly right. He's sorry he got caught. He doesn't care about the facts, or what the real truth is. He knows his truth, and he's an honest guy. His integrity is important. So you're calling him a liar?

Now, remember, Rather is also the man who said that even though Clinton had been shown to be a liar many times over, he was "basically honest, an honest man"

By the grand scheme of the MSM - this really isn't that far over the line, other than being caught. It's a little farther over the advocacy line, but most everybody else in the MSM does that, as demonstrated time and time again. (In their sidelong comments, how they describe things, what they decide to cover)

Remember. CBS = 2/3 BS.

Help wanted: We have an opening for an evening news anchor. Applicant must be earnest with a transparent liberal bias. We prefer applicants who have a close working relationship with mentally unstable, highly unreliable, impeachable sources. Applicants must have ties to the Democratic Party, latent personal grudges against Republicans, and a penchant for bad haircuts. Please send resume and forged references to CBS News.

It's too late for their credibility. "See? BS!" is fast becoming a widespread joke around the area of Texas where I live.

Ok, so I had to help spread it a little. Not MY fault it caught on. ;]
