Joe noticed that many parrots spoke foreign languages because they were
from other countries. He began going around to pet stores and teaching
the parrots English. He found others doing the same thing, so he formed
the Parrot Teachers Association. Eventually, Joe called a strike,
because the pay was poor. He was soon short of cash, so he got a job in
a laundry pressing shirts.

He wanted to iron while the strike was hot.
