All it took was one night with Kim and Airboss and I'm already posting gun pictures. Here is a picture Airboss sent me of just four of his weapons. BTW, I was right. The gun in the previous post was a .357.

Bottom left Model 649 .38 Special also made in .357 magnum
Nice! That even beats saturday boobage.
Wait a sec, I just went too far. It aint THAT nice!
Posted by: daniel on November 22, 2004 10:34 PMIf you go with one of these, I would strongly suggest getting a .38. With a 2" barrel, .357 ammo is giving you horrendous muzzle flash and recoil/flip for very little extra effect.
Something like the Federal Hydra-Shock .38's would do nicely.
Posted by: Mark on November 23, 2004 11:52 AMI'll stick with my spurless Ruger SP101 .357, thank you! I think it looks much slicker and sleeker than the S&W 640.
BTW, use 125gr .357 ammo with these smaller frames and they're much more manageable--and you can still use your .38 ammo with it if you want.
Posted by: Dar on November 23, 2004 05:06 PMWould suggest a Glock 19 (9mm) or Glock 23 (.40 cal). Or perhaps a Kahr.
Posted by: Big E on November 23, 2004 10:38 PMI second Mark's comments. You get a 2-inch .357, you'll fire it once.. .then all it will be good for is posting pictures.
I carry a 2" snubbie in .38 and with some of the newer rounds I feel quite adequately armed for close-range self-defense. I'm not haning around gang-banger neighborhoods, my only worry is maybe popping some miscreant trying to hold up the local convenience store or dissuading a mugger. However, just because I like it, when clothed properly, I carry a 4" Kimber in .45 auto.
Shooting .357 in a 4-inch Ruger GP-100 with the rubber grips is plenty exciting enough. Shooting a snub in that caliber with those small wooden grips. . .you have to be a masochist.
Welcome to the GPAA, by the way. (Gun Porn Addicts Association)!
