The Oscars. Ho. Hum. Who cares? I don't give a fark about Hollywood's love affair with itself. Was the film that won best movie about assisted suicide? So let's see, liberal Hollywood believes in assisted suicide. Liberal Hollywood believes in abortion. Liberal Hollywood believes in partial birth abortion infanticide. So they want to kill cripples, fetuses and babies, but they don't want to kill convicted murderers. Yep. Makes perfect sense to me.
Michael Jackson. Another big yawn. Can you imagine how much fun this pervert is gonna have in prison if he gets convicted? Convicts hate pedophiles.
Martha Stewart. Again. Who cares.
Fosset flying around the world. Now that was neat!
The Supreme Court Decision on not executing murderers under 18. Bullshit! This is why we need three "right wing judges" and by that, I mean judges who will enforce the Constitution and not rely on societal norms and international opinion. What a crock!
The continuing implosion of the Dimocrat Party. Here's a little thought experiment: Imagine if a Republican had equated the Dimocrats in the Senate with Hitler and the Nazis. Imagine the outrage by the lamestream media. Anyway, on Senator Robert "Kleagle" Byrd, I declare Godwin's Law. He's still a bigot.
And finally, a great big thanks to Jesse Brown who just automated my site to eliminate comment spam.
I still feel like crap. I turned down going to a Mexican restaurant with my friend Cindy tonight, so she knows I'm sick. I do feel better than yesterday and I'm hoping to be OK by Monday. And, yes, I will post Saturday Boobage this week.
Posted by denny at March 4, 2005 08:21 PMJesse Brown is one I breathed the same air with back in 1970 Viet Nam. To him, WITH Him, I would share the following and ask for brotherly aid:
This is STRICTLY for my Vet-pals & correspondents!
How is it that Billy Glass, John Marks, David Kerr, Dave O'Keefe & Stupid Fucking Wally are DEAD and gone while I am not???
What is the calculus of dead & gone? What is the further calculus of why them and not me?
Time & Again the vets at the smoking-tables of the VA hospital(s) wonder this exact question.
Sometimes, I think this is what PTSD is really, TRULY all about!
Why Billy instead of Dan? Why Wally, John, Dave and Johnny instead of me?
For that matter, why Nguyen, Tran, Vo & Thia?
They tell me it is 'survivor's guilt' that causes me to question such, but I go back to my 15-year old days prior to Viet Nam and wonder today why those who thought like me are now dead and buried in Arlington and Annapolis while I am still alive today living only to be dead by alcohol.
Why did THEY die when they wanted to live while I lived on while wanting to die?
Perhaps you don't appreciate such calculus; such is the core tenet of my very existence today.
Maybe one day I will (with YOUR help!) come to understand why I am alive today while wishing I were dead back in 1969 ... and why those who expressed to me personally all the REASONS they had to LIVE were blown apart by bombs, mines, booby-traps, and bullets & were so suddenly/VIOLENTLY removed.
There is a 'guilt'-thing at work in my brain; It works out to: " 'God' is ALL-good; Dan is ALL-bad." It MORE than moves me to tears; it makes me so angry that I will forever more HONOR those my sidekicks by trying to discern what THEY would have expected of me today. Jesse is that embodiment.
Todd understands what I mean; F/U!
While I could justifiably 'wallow' in some serious GUILT, it was Todd & JB who helped me to understand that F/U! is actually a WAY to live for today. I have come to understand that LSD is the tool that shaves away baser insensitivity. Hunter Thompson knew EXACTLY what I mean just prior to blasting a cap into his foul-mouth.
By now, you know something VERY IMPORTANT about me:
I am simply TOO sensitive to colors, sensations, impressions & opinions. Know also that I would KILL someone at the drop of a hat.
Deal, therefore, with the REAL Dan S who thinks enough of you to send this post.
You ASK so much of some of us; you HEAR so little of how we respond.
Me!:)))
So they want to kill cripples, fetuses and babies, but they don't want to kill convicted murderers. Yep. Makes perfect sense to me.Well, the murderer (tsk, tsk, such an oppressive and judgmental word, Denny) is a--what was your word?--"murderer" because society constructed a reality for that person that exploited his inherent goodness and thus drove him away from himself. The hatred engendered was as much against himself as the society that ostracized him. Suggesting that he bears some responsibility would be oppressive in itself. Activist-cum-Doctor Sally Zierler of the Brown School of Public Health reminds us "individual responsibility is an oppressive concept". (Must I note I abhor everything I just wrote and hope Denny would deliver a severe beating with a crutch if I ever prescribed to such intellectual foolishness?)
And if a woman wants to have a child, the fetus instantly becomes an "unborn" or simply "my baby" and is infinitely valuable. If she does not want that child because the idea of getting stretch marks ("I'm like, so hot and those are, like, so icky") or getting maternity clothes or getting free checkups from a clinic before giving the child away for adoption, then the fetus is merely a clump of cells with no more worth--no, less worth--than an endangered beetle.
The Supreme Court Decision on not executing murderers under 18. Bullshit! This is why we need three "right wing judges" and by that, I mean judges who will enforce the Constitution and not rely on societal norms and international opinion. What a crock!
To pick and choose things you like about "International Opinion" when those things are not supported by the Constitution that is supposed to be your sole concern in adjudicating (and protecting)--and reject things in "International Opinion" when you do not like them--is the grandest form of intellectual and ethical cowardess.
The Robert Byrd thing. Well, what can be written that has not already been? I guess the best I can do is note that this former KKK kleagle, filibusterer [sic] of the Civil Rights Act, proud user of racial epithets are recent as 2001, is called the "conscience of the Senate" by the Washington Post and his Democrat colleagues. That is clarifying in that it tells me a great deal about the news industry and Democrats.
