I watched the President's speech tonight. I didn't take any notes because I really don't think it matters.
The Lamestream Media is still gonna be against the war and do everything in its power to undermine it. To them it's Viet Nam all over again and it's a "quagmire".
The Dimocrat wing of the Dimocrat Party, which is pretty much the entire party is still gonna be against the war and do everything in its power to undermine it, like that little charade carried out by Conyers and some of the other leftwing dingbats where they tried to pretend that they were some kind of House sanctioned committee holding hearings on the war.
I missed out on a real good idea for Matt over at StarkTruth. All he needed to find was a picture of the tea party from Alice in Wonderland and Photoshop Conyers' and some of the other loony leftists' heads on the Mad Hatter et al.
Right after 9/11 I remember telling my friends Michael and Cindy that the Global War on Terror would be a long war and a war that I didn't think the United States had the stomach to fight. I figgered it wouldn't be long for the loonies on the left to start talking about "root causes" and how we deserved it. Sho' 'nuff. It didn't take long. Farenheit 9/11. Dixie Twits. Hey, whatever happened to them? I thought Natalie said that they were gonna become rock musicians. Have they released a rock album yet? Hollywoood libs. Moveon.org. The Lamestream Media.
Y'see, Viet Nam was the left's last big success. Reagan really pissed them off because he won the Cold War despite the left and the Lamestream Media. They need to make Bush look bad. They're glad his poll numbers are dropping. They want us to cut and run like we did in Viet Nam. Their hero is Jimmah Carter who was humiliated by Iran. In their eyes we deserved that also.
I expect a slight blip in public opinion due to the speech and 4th of July, but then we'll be back to the Lamestream Media writing about Abu Ghraib and Gitmo. They'll also be looking for juicy quotes like those of Senator Turban Durbin that they can print. Then those quotes can be picked up by al Jizz and that will give the seething Muslims of the Islamic world sumpin' to riot about.
I expect the GWOT to last at least as long as the Cold War. And just like the Cold War, we'll not only be fighting the eney abroad, but the left wing assholes here in the United States.
Posted by denny at June 28, 2005 09:43 PMI fail to see how the Vietnam war was the lefts last success. It may have set the course for their future, but it was THEIR WAR. Kennedy and Johnson escalated a small military assistance package into one heck of a fight. A fight that we were winning until some dopes started whinning. It still pisses me that Nixon threw in the towell. He should have bombed North Vietnam FLAT. It also marked the sunset of democats with spines. There are a few of us left. Some like to call us Reagan democrats. Reagan had nothing to do with it. We are Carter democrats. He is the reason we voted for Reagan, Ford would have gotten our vote, hell, even Nixon might have had a chance to get back in. I have quite a few friends who are also life long dems who vote their conscience not their party. I will vote for a dem before I vote for a RINO, mainly because the dem at least admits what he is.
I also say screw the lame stream media. See-BS, Nothing But Crap, Always Broadcasting Crap, and the Communist noise Network can all go to hell.
Didn't watch the speech as I was at work but I read a couple Articles covering over what was said. I have this to say... War is a fucked up thing to begin with. There are no Rules to war saying that it should start now and end now. We can only fight the war as it develops and when it is time for it to end then it ends. You cannot say ... okay we pull out tomorrow at 3pm... all you little insurgents should stop blowing things up now. Its childish and foolish to think that way. on the other side of the coin, it should not be dragged out any longer than needed as doing so will only bring unneccesary pain to all countries involved.
WW II lasted 6 years in all from the time Germany attacked Poland to the signing of the peace treaty with Japan. America was in that war as a force for 3 of those years. The type of warfare has changed dramatically. We cannot expect to be in this for only a short amount of time. It is going to drag on just because of the nature of the fighting. As long as there are fanatics willing to throw themselves blindly into the fight and blow up innocent people this is a war that will not end. However eventually the Iraqi nation will be able to stand up on its own and protect itself without needing the U.S. troops there to shield them. That is the day our troops get a bit of rest.
I suffered through a Nancy Pelosi interview after the speech. Not only is she directly competing with Hillary in the loathsome department, but she also is dumb as a bag of rocks.
Posted by: Jim - PRS on June 28, 2005 11:09 PMBut still not as dumb as Maxine Waters. That will never happen.
Posted by: Alan on June 29, 2005 12:51 AMI didn't see Dubya's speech because I'm overseas, at work, and couldn't care less about his lame-duck yammering about why an exit timeline would be a big mistake; he isn't driving this OIF bus, Rumsfeld is. The whole idea is to line the pockets of the RWC's rich friends with as much currency as possible until either the money train runs out of fuel, or America runs out of uniform-clad personnel to be killed by a fanatical insurgency that hates the U.S. because of Dubya and his rich, white, Christian friends poking their noses where they do not belong. This will not end until the RWC Reich leaves Capital Hill, mark my words. If Boss Tweed were still alive, he would be proud at the havoc Dubya and his cronies are wreaking on the Middle East.
Posted by: Jenifer D. on June 29, 2005 03:07 AMHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! That was funny, Jenifer.
All of the left-wing talking points except blood for oil. And oh, by the way, the fanatical insurgency of which you speak hates all of us, white, black, pagan, Buddhist; all they want is us paying our dhimmi tax under the Caliphate or dead. And as women, I guess we would be allowed to pick which color burka we hide under. Or not. Duh.

And the only reason the 'no blood for oil' memre didn't come out is that even moonbats these days realize just how assinine that charge is—after all, *they* are paying $2.20 a gallon along with the rest of us.
While the reasons to go to war with Iraq can be disputed and discussed, the simple facts that the President pointed out last night remain. We are in a war to the death with the islamofacists, and it is better we kill them over there rather than here. Our casualties have actually gone down, while the terrorists are killing more of their own. As the Iraqi military learn as we did, their casualties will go down as well, and there will be more dead islamonuts to dig shallow graves for. Good. I couldn't be happier. #2. We will not stop until the job is done. In my opinion, the American people needed to be reminded just what the stakes are in this war on terror, because we are in it for the long haul, not just a cruise missle solution to an annoyance as John Fuckface Kerry said. Our way of life and the survival of the most benevolent and democratic nation on the face of the earth depends on our success.
No matter what, the screeching, shit flinging, America hating monkeys will be out in force to denounce and bitch about anything that benefits the USA, and in particular, anything our President does or says. The likes of Jennifer should do us all a favor, and move to france, where, hopefully with the summer season coming up, they can die from heat asphyxiation due to lack of air conditioning.
Posted by: Anthony L. on June 29, 2005 09:25 AMHey Alan, don't knock 'ole Maxine like that. You ever notice that she looks just like one of those faces carved out of a coconut? What would the Key West tourist trade do without her to model those things?
Personally I don't care about Bush. What was important to me was defeating Kerry even if I had to hold my nose to do it. "WAR ON TERROR"? GMAFB. Terrorism is nothing more than a tactic. This is like declaring war against amphibious operations or verticle envelopement. Hell, terrorism isn't even a noun. Are we planning to bomb Belfast because we're at war with terrorists? Maybe some naval gunfire against PETA headquarters in Norfolk? Bush chickened out and chose the politically correct way out by not saying something more accurate like Islamofacists or Islamists or Wahabi Islam. All he had to do was make the explanation in his televised speech on 9/20/01. He then took the BIGGER government approach to airline safety by expanding the Air Marshal Service which was already in place on 9/11 and we all now how well it worked. 75% of commercial pilots are former military but Norman Mineta doesn't trust them with guns. Mineta also thinks for every middle Eastern male that is searched and equal number of 85 year old Chinese women should be searched to just to avoid "profiling". Bush doesn't have the brains or the balls to fire this former democrat congressman from his job as Sec of Transportation. The more I type the more pissed off I get
Posted by: Ric on June 29, 2005 10:12 AMElizabeth - Are you sure that wasn't me writing Jennifer's comment for a cheap laugh? What a fucking idiot! What she and her ilk do not understand is that it is not the Christian conservatives these sheetheads hate. They hate liberals. They hate gays. They hate women working, walking around in revealing clothes and voting. They hate the Hollywood liberals and the R rated movies they put out. It is the ultimate irony that the people like Jennifer and her liberal friends would be the first people killed if the Islamic nutjobs achieved their goals. BDS (Bush Derangement Syndrome) is a serious disease that apparently has no cure.
Posted by: Denny on June 29, 2005 11:59 AMAccording to their website, the Dixie Twits have bypassed the idea of becoming a rock group and have gone straight to "Spanish Polka". I kid you not.

ABC reports that White House advance team FAKED the applause.
ABC's Terry Moran just reported that the only time Bush got applause was in the middle of his speech when a White House advance team started clapping all on their own in order to cajole the soldiers into clapping, which they dutifully did.
Bah!!!
I'm all for knocking out IslamoFascists where they are as fast as possible, but all this Rovian spin & manipulation has simply got to STOP!!
It's getting so you can't believe a single word coming from the mouth of the President of the United States of America.
A terrible shame that is doing us no good either short term nor long.
Posted by: Dan S. on June 29, 2005 02:34 PMI will be a little long-winded here so bear with me. I have a few points to make. First of all the whining has got to stop on all sides. The U.S. is going to be in iraq for a long time. It sucks but thats life. If the U.S. pulls out of iraq before the job is at least 85-90% done it would be catastrophic on a biblical scale. Not only for iraqis but possibly for the U.S. as well. There would be a civil war that would make Rwanda 1994 look like disney world. The filthy, disgusting, swarthy, moon-god worshipping pedophile followers of the religion of peace (reg.tm) would have more bull-shit to falsely accuse America of doing. Every single person has the right to pursue happiness.Iraqis included. It fucking pains me to say that but it's true. I absolutely fucking despise rag-heads...etc...muslim=terrorist...etc... I don't want to bore everyone.
I will also say that I think Rumsfeld has got to go. He is a VERY ARROGANT bastard. A lot of the guys I know can't stand him, and do not respect him. Myself included. That last bit will probably bother some of you but I don't give a fuck. Life goes on. I also think that the U.S. should have committed half of the soldiers in iraq to trashcanistan. We would have been just about done by now. Then we could go to iraq, or syria, or iran or whatever. That makes more sense to me on the ground. Then again I don't write policy on these matters.
War is the curse of mankind. It's ugly, dirty, scary, and not too much fun. It brings out the worst that humanity has to offer. Most soldiers don't want it but know this- We will continue to move forward with it as long as we have to. I can only speak for myself and the RAKKASANS I'm responsible for.
The bottom line is that we are stuck there until it's done. So goddamnit support the soldiers. All americans are entitled to free speech, and should exercise that right. Protests do not harm the morale of the soldiers. That is non-sense. Personally I like a good old fashioned American debate or arguement. However if one of those protestors spits at me they will get an old fashioned RAKKASAN ass kicking.
I will go back to the big sandbox again soon for another year. I will hate every minute of it but I will do the right thing by my soldiers. Fuck the "lame-stream" media (credit to MR. Denny). Thats another psychotic rant. Please take some of my comments with a grain of salt. Those are just my opinions. Don't be sore about the rumsfeld thing.
Lets Go Mets and everyone please have a RAKKASAN day!
Dan - GMAFB! ABC? C'mon. Do you expect the Lamestream Media to say anynthing nice about Bush or the speech? Actually, according to the soldiers they were told not to applaud during the speech. The particular line they did applaud was when he was complimenting the troops.
Posted by: Denny on June 29, 2005 06:24 PMI have to agree with Dave Wallach there on the war issue; The big issue here is that we didn't finish the job in 91 like we intended (when I say 'we' I mean the U.S. Military). That little Canine and Equestrian show was too short to have had any long-lasting impact on SWA. Now, more than 10 year later, we are again back over in the big sand box with over 1,700 U.S. troops dead with the death toll still mounting on a daily basis, not to mention the divorce rate in the ranks of the U.S. Army. What amuses me is that everytime I see Dubya on the telly, his eyes seem to be sinking farther and farther into their sockets while Rummy's ears seem to be getting more pointed all the time; I can imagine he's growing a tail and matching horns too. Oh yeah, and Denny? You're not funny. Get a life. ;-)
Posted by: Jenifer D. on June 29, 2005 11:01 PMJennifer - but you are hilarious. Thanks for the entertainment. I do agree with you that we should have finished the job in 1991 but we didn't because
1. The liberals would have pitched a fit.
2. The international community would have pitched a fit.
3. Since you parrot the libs, you would have probably ptiched a fit.
The same people who are against us finishing the job this time are the same people who were against us finishing the job in 1991. Those people are the Dimocrats.
And Jennifer, on this topic I am not trying to be funny. We are in a culture clash. I think Bush and Rummy could be doing a better job, but even with all of their faults they are doing better than any Dimocrat (outside of maybe Joe Lieberman) could. I support the troops 100%. I have a nephew who spent over 14 months in Iraq.
BTW, I do have a life and since I am a rich oppressive capitalist, it's a pretty good one.
Posted by: Denny on June 29, 2005 11:12 PMDenny:
"Do you expect the Lamestream Media to say anynthing nice about Bush or the speech?"
No.
But I do expect neutrality in reporting.
The JFN! The Joe Friday Network (Just the FACT's, NumbNuts!).
Is it indeed FACT that even this latest TV-thing is yet ANOTHER Rovian exercise in detailed manipulation (just because he has a grudge about being an illegitimate)?
See how EZ that is? It's all true, but it all depends on how one applies the lipstick.
I don't care who reports a thing so long as it can be proven/dis-proven on a calm & factual basis.
Posted by: Dan S. on June 30, 2005 02:02 AMDenny, Not every Dimocrat is as bad as that. I agree with the War on terrorism and agree it needs to be waged. I think there should be a pullout plan, but like any plan in war, it needs to adjust and flex and be open to improvisation as dictated by the reaction of the enemy. The fact is that those people that are elected represent the extremism of the majority vote. That applies to Republicans and Democrats, or any other elected official from any party. I fully back the military and the fight they are waging and I understand that they are there to protect my liberal white ass and they have my gratitude. Any member of the military is welcome to knock on my door and get a bunk and warm meal for the night.
My beef with the government is for all the worthless shits in office regardless of party affiliation. You aren't doing the job, then get the fuck out. However too many people vote out of comfort, or vote because it comes down to a lesser of 2 evils as it is too damn difficult to get more than just the Dims or Dicks in the main race. They may like the other guys but for fear of not enough votes they support the big wigs with the spending power...
oh well
enough rant from me...
Denny, even you would be more sophisticated. And worked in "blood for oil" in there somewhere. And you notice that she didn't respond to me. She has absolutely no idea what she's talking about.
Read some history, Jenifer. For example, the crusades were not muslim bashing for the fun of it. Charles Martel stopped the muslims outside PARIS in 753. It took the Reconquista until 1492 to drive them out of the European penninsula (I know ya'll have heard this before but I can't believe the ignorance of these people in history). The Crusades were started as a response to the conquest of the Holy Land.
Hello? Now do you understand? Christendom was not conquering; they were responding to muslim conquest.
The fanatic muslims yearn for the reestablishment of the Caliphate. And neither you, or any of your "give peace a chance" friends would have a snowball's chance in hell of surviving.

Denny, you don't sound like a rich, oppressive Capitalist. You sound like a good-natured fella who likes to share a few laughs once in awhile, at the expense of others of course. That's par-for-the-course in my book of 'Jenifer-isms'. By-the-way Elizabeth, I read plenty of history, political, literary, and occult. I prefer to avoid religious history because I think a maniac in-bred wrote the bible. As for the crusades, I think another one is needed to round out the world: Evil Clowns from Outer Space should converge on SWA; armed with seltzer bottles, little cars, and balloon-animals.
Posted by: Jenifer D. on June 30, 2005 08:08 PMThen I really pity you, Jenifer. Those who do not learn the lessons of history are doomed to repeat them.
You are an arrogant fool. The history I quoted is not religious. Look up Ferdinand and Isabella of Spain.
