We're Fucked!

It looks like Katrina is gonna wipe out some oil rigs and some refineries. Thannks Dimocrats and environmentalists for not allowing us to build any new refineries for the last 40 years. Y'all better go gas up tomorrow. Gas is gonna go up over $3.00 a gallon and the Dow is gonna drop below 10,000 tomorrow. Thanks assholes! That includes you, Jimmy.

No shit sherlock that gas is going to go up after this . My prayers are with those who could not get out. But to blame the rasing gas prices on your so called "Dimocrats",..Good Lord!

I had just told my family and friends the exactly same thing. $3.00 a gallon by weeks end. Do you think this will finally get the lefties attention and send them in a rage after the tree huggers? Na, it's all George's fault. They can't admit fauly in any one thing or their entire world would fall on them.

I am sickened beyond words that some people should fit this catistoric event into a political venue.

It is what it is Teresa. Get over yourself. As usual, Denny is right on the money, honey.

Hey Teresa. Stop driving your SUV to work. You're one of the reasons why we're in this mess.

"Wow! I sure do need all that POWWWWWWERRRRRR to drive my fat ass to my office cubicle every day on perfectly level asphalt freeways!"

Thanks for shifting that demand curve honey.

Here's what will happen: The dimocrats will demogogue the rising prices of gas, blaming Pres. Bush.
Here is what the GOP MUST do is call the lying asshole liberals' bluff to expose them as the phonies/frauds we know they are:
Immediately after congress re-convenes next week, submit bills in the House and Senate to authorize expanding drilling for oil in ANWR, in the gulf of Mexico, off the coast of California, and off the coast of Florida, to lessen our dependency on foreign sources of oil.
Then we'll see who really cares about the high gas prices.

Rob and Denny are both right. I would add to the suggestion box an executive order that negates all environmental laws and permiting processes for new refineries. Drill for the damned oil and change it into gos wherever you need it. And build that damned windmill farm in Nantucket Sound and let the Kennedy's, Kerry's and Cronkites cry a river over their lost "viewshed".

We need the atomic generating capacity. We have all kinds of excess fuel from dismanteling WMDs, lets put it to good use.
I read an article in Popular Mechanics some years ago about a nuclear powered aircraft. It would have been capable of staying aloft for a month or more, the limit was food supplies. The one proposed was on the order of a turbofan.

DITTO!

Fuck the gas prices. I'll ride my bike to work.

Let's see how the liberals spin this one. One possibility is "Bush and his cabal of neo-cons, in league with the oil companies and especially Chaney's Halliburton, have conspired to create Hurricane Katrina in order to create an oil shortage so that they can gouge the public with higher gas prices in order to feather their nests with more profits." Can't wait to hear the moonbats on this one. Seriously, we need about three more refineries, and we need to step up domestic oil production and that includes ANWR and more drilling in the Gulf. While we are at it, let's do something realistic about increasing gas mileage. Let's remove the polution crap from our cars, and encourage the auto makers to offer manual transmissions on all vehicles. I drive a year 2000 dodge van. It's my third one. The first two had manual transmissions. The first one, a 1978 had three on the tree, and the second one, a 1990 had five on the floor with overdrive. That one got 25 miles per gallon. My current one gets 14. It has an automatic. Dodge didn't offer a manual transmission on it's vans in 2000. I'm not sure when they stopped. If you go to Europe, you will be hard pressed to find a car with an automatic transmission, and they don't have the polution controls on them that our government mandates over here. They need to squeeze every drop of mileage out of a tank of gasoline when it's the equivalent of 5 and 6 dollars a gallon. A $600 clutch job every 100,000 miles is nothing when you think of the fuel savings you get with a manual transmission over an automatic. If people don't want to have to shift in rush hour traffic, which is the usual complaint that I hear, then they should either take the bus, subway, or train to work. Most of those complaining that I know, are also dyed in the wool liberals with environmental agendas. I guess the agenda is supposed to apply to us and not them, since they are the ones driving to work by themselves when they could be riding the public transportation that they feel is so inportant for the rest of us and not them. On a somber note, let's wish the good people of New Orleans and the other Gulf vicinity communities Godspeed in their recovery from this devastating hurricane.

Why Mr. Denny, you are most certainly welcome, It was my honor to have brought you low cost fuel during my reign as president. How sad that people foolishly chose Reagan over me in 1980. I know that the cold war would have ended sooner with me at the helm. Our weakened military would surely have been no match, and we would now be one of several states of the improved United Nations.
rest assured I will continue to fight against free enterprise and the american ideal and instead promote socialism.
Incinserely,
Jimmy (who) Carter

This piss moaning about gas gets on my nerves...I'm still buying a 4 wheel drive truck for the mountains.

Agree with the above posts about proposal for new drilling and shut the dimocrats up...and they have started spinning it already.

As for the post about making this disaster political...get over it...the friggin' dimocrats make everything political. Think about that before you vote next time, sweetie.

Wasn't it Bush 1 or 2 who didn't visit the hurricane sights in Florida quick enough and the dimocrats bitched about that? Refresh my memory...
