Where you to agitate against the lack of support in the war on terror, I'd cheer you along all the way. Personally I think the Dutch government is just doing the bare minimum and they should be much more supportive, militairy and especially politically. Not because the USA liberated the Netherlands some 60 years ago (although it counts), but because the cause is just. But hey, our politicians might not get a Christmas card from Jacques Chiraq and where would they be then?

Reading the news, the damage caused by the hurricane seems to be much more extensive than was previously reported here. My condoleances to all who have been hit.

Well, when there is a disaster in a developped country, if the country can handle it, nobody help because rich countries are strong enough to repair the damages.

We got cities inundates a lot of time because of the rain making water onrush from the moutains.
It made a lot of damages and it killed tens of people, however we never received anything from you.
And even if it's a smaller disaster than yours, we are a smaller country than yours, it's a matter of scale.

What I said was for:

I am very sorry for those who were hit, I wish you to heal your country quick, a rebuilding is often good for economy, it creates wells and work.

Maybe the one thing France could do : send more troops in Afghanistan (i'm not even sure we have this capability), and so their will be more us-soldiers to go back home to help and repair (or to replace soldiers in Irak who could come back).

Other countries aren't capable of providing the kind of help we provide for ourselves....I still think they are all a**holes for not offering more help... who needs them.

Jesse Jackson should have his butt in this country helping "his people" instead of kissing the ass of Hugo Chavez...and Al Sharpton should be in the South helping out instead of visiting Cindy Sheehan...that is what p***es me off.

If the media doesn't stop reporting on all the looting going on in New Orleans, no one will want to help much. That is bad press and stupidity to focus on low-life, scum-bag criminals doing what they know best...ripping off people...'nuff said.

Pierce and Prosper - The United States always offers help, even to developed countries. We are the richest country on this planet and we are also the most charitable. It is said that we give less per capita than other countries, but that is just what our gummint gives. We have many private charities that give billions to the rest of the world. Even so, much of the world hates us, mainly because they are envious and jealous of our wealth and power.
