He used this like Hitler used the German fear and hate feelings about jews. He discredited the Jews in this very same way. After, when the hate of his people against jews was big enough, he passed some anti-jews law to begin.
For Mr Bill O Reilly, the truth isn't really important, the show just have to be successful.

The French media simply said they couldn't know if there were any WMD. And they were right .
They said the USA didn't respect international rights, because they didn't wait for the experts to fully achieve their investigations. No more, and that was true.
The war was rigth, but what your governement told USA people about WMD was lies, and the French and Germans knew it : there were NO EVIDENCES.
There might have been some risks indeed, but they never had enough evidence to said there was anything.
Ok the war was needed, because of terrorism and because of the monster dictator Sadam. So it was a good thing. But the reasons told weren't the good ones.
Simply because to start a war it was not politically enough. So your governement decided to lie to protect the USA.
But they should have used the truth instead of using a scape goat to discredit the "no WMD hypothesys".
Your governement wouldn't accept any opposition, so the French were laughed at for questioning WMD then later used as a scapegoat for justifing their assumed existance!
It was always the same political wags who go around the talk shows presenting false information and yelling at anyone that questions their facts.
After that, it was too late,
the USA media did their job (sometimes with Mr Bill O Reilly help), the French media told the French the lies you guys told about French and their history.
(Yep, most of the French history you think you know is only a very small part, the bad one of course).
So the French reacted with animosity against this animosity, so it went to the veto.
All this is mostly a diplomatic failure.
With people less coward that the ones like Mr Bill O Reill, the war would have been correctly justified, the hate wouldn't have been emphasize, lies and bullshit would never have become the false part of what 70% of USA people think is the truth. And Mr DickHead (i don't love my president) wouldn't have used his shit veto.
And we wouldn't have had to believe that we are ennemies. This is manipulation, both countries were manipulated.
You would have watched only the Frecnh TV you would have thought like the French. I would have watched only the USA TV, I would have thought the same than you. Hopefully I watched both and found out that both were bullshits.
I can feel that, even reading this, some of you will still think we are ennemies, some people just love to hate,

I'm not proud of it, but the French governement had decided to make a deal with the Nazi.
So the answer to the question "Is France an ennemy?" wasn't obvious at that time. Even if the german army forced the governement to do it.
They used French in their armies as we were invaded, so the situation wasn't clear. We were amongst the allies first, but the German invaded us and made a deal with the governement who accepted because they wanted to keep some power.
Our French governement was made of Nazis and ennemys at this time, but those were French choosen by Nazis, so the situation wasn't clear at all.
Churchill talked about considering France amongst the ennemies as its governement was French and ennemy.
De Gaulle showed that French resistance had a leader, that it was the REAL french army.
He told the world HE was the leader and not this Nazi Mr Pétain.
He showed that this Mr Petain was an ennemy of France.
At the end of the war, we, the French, have thrown this Mr Petain and all the former governement in jail because they had made a deal with the Nazi.
Without a French chief amongst allies, Churchill would have put us amongst the ennemies.
It's logical, we had a French governement, made by Hitler of course, who was hostile to the USA.
I never said Churchill wasn't right.
De Gaulle was this chief, and he showed France fought for its freedom.
That is why De Gaulle acted like this with the USA after.
He wanted to prove that the French would not let the USA consider them as an ennemy and get control over the country, because HE was the French chief and HE fought the Nazi thanks to the Resistance.
This has never been official, but Churchill did think about it. And he was rigth to do so, the situation was complex and deserved a deep analyse.
And this is not bullshit, you have not heard about the analyse, that doesn't mean it didn't happened Just check if you don't believe it, but the problem is that this was only a diplomatic talk, it wasn't reported in an official document, only the results were.
