A Little Help

I have a friend who is gonna be driving from Houston to Lake Charles, where her mother lives, and she has asked me to ask my readers if anyone knows the road conditions and gas situation between Lake Charles and Houston. Please e-mail me or put in the comments any pertinent info. Thanks.

You didn't say when she was leaving, but I'll give you the latest on traffic as of 6:45 this morning. I usually look at the transtar website for traffic info when I'm at work, but there's only a message stating that they highly discourage anyone from coming back yet. Maybe it just hasn't been updated yet.

Katy Freeway to I-45 was wide open. Normally, the back-up would start around 5:45, but there's not too many people headed into work. As for the gas situation, there were tankers headed into Katy on Saturday afternoon. Most places already have gas again. Let's see how long that lasts.

My boss made the trip from New Orleans to Houston today (Monday) & said roads were clear & gas was available in Lafayette, but then not again until in 'greater' Houston. I make the trip tomorrow.

We made it!

Flying trip along 190. No gas after Huntsville. 230 miles from there to DeRidder. We made it in around 3:30 this morning.

Mom is safe.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
