Today is the annual Ten Years On Party at the house of my friends, Michael and Cindy. Everyone has to bring a red wine 10 years old (or 20, 30, 40, etc.) or a white 5 years old. I'm taking a 1995 Fronsac from Chateau Fontenil.
I expect to consume mass quantities of wine. Poor me!
Posted by denny at October 9, 2005 02:41 PMThis party sounds a little too high brow for a farmer like me :)

Posted by: Denny on October 10, 2005 12:02 AMSo? It is Monday morning....how did the get-together go?
We are waiting to hear about it.
A St Estephe from 1999 for me. Certainly a little to young...

90% Merlot
10% Cabernet Sauvignon
A great year for red bordeaux
Good choice
Prosper - All the red wines had to be at least 10 years old, so the 1999 St Estephe wouldn't qualify.
Posted by: Denny on October 10, 2005 03:22 PMI understood, but the rules for my lunch this sunday were not so strict. And we drunk not as much bottle as you !
Posted by: Prosper on October 11, 2005 03:06 AMHi Denny
As it happens, I have two cases of 95 Fontenil that I have kind of overlooked for a while. How was it when you had it? I have assumed I need to get a move on and start drinking fast. Is that right? Thanks a lot.
Harlan in London
Harlan - It is ready to drink now. According to Parker, you should drink before December of 2008.
