While visiting his niece, an elderly man had what was apparently a stroke. The woman drove wildly to get him to the emergency room.
After what seemed like a very long wait, the E.R. doctor appeared, wearing his scrubs and a long face.
Sadly, he said, "I'm afraid that your uncle's brain is dead, but his
heart is still beating."
"Oh, dear," cried the woman, her hands clasped against her cheeks with shock. "We've never had a Democrat in the family before!"

If you are a regular reader of blogs, you find many people who are proud to announce that they are ex dems or libs. I've always thought there was room for more. Now I know what happened to the rest of them.

Posted by: Phobos on November 12, 2005 06:17 PMReminds me of a story told by a friend who escaped from Poland in the early 60's.
A little boy told his teacher that his cat had a litter of good little Communist kittens. A few weeks later teach has little boy tell Political Officer about his kittens. Little boy tells Kommissar about litter of wonderful little Capitalist kitties. Teacher has fainting spell, seeing his job evaporating, his family starving, and prison door slamming shut, stammers: "Whaaaa...... bu...bu...but you said they were good little Communists ! ! " Little boy happily replies: "But Teacher, don't you understand? Their eyes are now open.
