Before.
What is on the island is turkey, dressing, corn, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry relish, butter beans, and string beans. What is not shown are two kinds of cornbread.
During. Focus ain't too good.
From left to right: Michael (Cindy's husband), Ryan ( my brother-in-law), Maureen (Cindy's daughter), Cindy (my friend), Sherry (my sister), Cindy's mother, and Cindy's father.
For dessert we had my sister's apple pie (best in the world) and a pumpkin pie that Cindy brought.
The aftermath.
And the Falcons won! The worst they can finish is 7-9.
I didn't write one of my posts this year saying what I was thankful for, but I can state it real quickly here. I'm thankful for friends and family. I'm especially thankful for blogmeets and all the good folks I have met and become friends with. I'm really looking forward to next year and attending more blogmeets.
Bloggers rock! Y'all know who you are.
Posted by denny at November 24, 2005 08:12 PMHappy Thanksgiving, Denny. You were truly one of the highlights of the blogmeet! Morrigan and I were discussing with our family yesterday how great it was to have met you.
Posted by: Bou on November 24, 2005 08:54 PMThank you for sharing pictures of your family, friends, kitty and lovely home. Adds to your charm...
Posted by: vicki on November 24, 2005 11:30 PMI'm thankfull for my family of course. But I am also thankfull for folks like Denny who get off their ass and do something in their lives. I'm thankfull to all the vets out there that have gone to a desert, jungle, or a city and fought like hell to defend the honor of this country and preserve our lifestyle. Here's to you veterans, It was our finest hour.
Death before Dishonor
Posted by: vet from hell on November 25, 2005 02:29 AM... Happy Thanksgiving, Denny... enjoy your weekend, brah...
Posted by: Eric on November 25, 2005 08:33 AMDamn, that's one devastated bird! :-)
Posted by: Harvey on November 25, 2005 09:46 AMAh, Denny... the Falcons will definitely finish better than that! I don't believe we've lost to Carolina since Mora took over. Hopefully that will continue with next Sunday's game. Also, I think the boys have it in them to make it pretty far in the playoffs. And with the Eagles pretty much out of contention, maybe the NFC Championship this year! I think Carolina will be the biggest obstacle.
More on topic, the pics look great. Your blog certainly has evolved over the 2+ years I've been reading it. I don't even think of you as "grouchy" anymore. LOL And, to think, that was the whole reason I started reading it. ;o)
Posted by: reiggin on November 25, 2005 10:30 PMAh Denny don't rub it in I was hoping for a 14-2 season myself but with the T.O. thing and Mcnabb going down and all the other injuries I just don't care anymore. Where's Freddie Mitchell when you need him ? LMAO
Posted by: Mike Thees on November 26, 2005 09:56 AMReiggin - The Falcons are just not that good and losing Hartwell for the season and Brady Smith for the last few games have really hurt them. I worry more about Tampa Bay than I do about Carolina. The Falcons always have problems with the Bucs. If Atlanta finishes 9-7 with thir injuries it will be a good year.
Things are going just too well for me to be grouchy. I've really mellowed since I've retired.
Posted by: Denny on November 26, 2005 10:36 AM...I know people in those pictures.
Digression: You will love this post at Polipundit. It covers a theme you have been on for ages (i.e., education and marriage before having children you cannot afford).
Posted by: addison on November 27, 2005 11:13 AMAddison - I hope you had a great Thanksgiving. I'm thankful I got to meet you and spend some time with you. I'm also thankful for all the comments you have made on this site. Hope all is going well with you.
Posted by: Denny on November 27, 2005 11:30 PMHappy Belated Thanksgiving. I was away "Not a simple luxury" Your family looks well and happy.
Hey....Nice Floors? What is the floor made of? And don't say wood!!!???!!! ;-) Oak, Mahogany etc.
Cheers
Oak strips on top of plywood. It glues to the floor. It's what you gotta have if your house is on a slab.
Posted by: Denny on November 28, 2005 05:20 PMWe had a great Thanksgiving dinner...all thirty minutes of it. Then Mom decided to wash out a Mason jar to drink out of--and it exploded in her hand. Slashed herself in several places and needed stitches. T-Day came to a screeching halt as we tried to shuffle Zane out of the house with as little fuss as possible, all the while keeping him from getting an eyeful of his Grandma bleeding all over the place. They were supposed to take him for an overnight stay--but needless to say, the sudden emergency put one hell of a kibosh on that.
I swear my Mom is a magnet for sharp pointy objects...

Posted by: Denita TwoDragons on November 29, 2005 12:05 AMOf course I WOULD forget to add the words "Hope you had a fantastic Thanksgiving with family, Denny!" And I even previewed before hitting the Post button. I can only claim an overdose of turkey soup tryptophans as my excuse for such unsociable behavior...

Looks great, they did a good job. Gotcha on the plywood. I've done some wood flooring on the second floor, also oak. It was physically tough work but not too technical. It came out great. I have to do the master bedroom and I'm almost finished with all home improvement projects. I'll have to find a new hobby!
