American Brutality

From Rob.

Sen. Kerry: "And there is no reason, Bob, that young American soldiers need
to be going into the homes of Iraqis in the dead of night, terrorizing kids
and children, you know, women, breaking sort of the customs of the–of–the
historical customs, religious customs. Whether you like it or not…"

And to think I thought Kerry (Did you know he served Viet Nam?) was just
playing politics and being a traitor to our country (Again), but here's
proof he was right...

Yo! Whoa Yo-yo WHOA!

Before you go TOO FAR OUT THERE on this one, YO ___! I have some personal experience in this that's gonna cause stuff-acerbic.

Okay?

I forgot to give credit to Rush Limbaugh for the "Did you know he (Kerry) served in Viet Nam?" line. Too funny!!!!

Posted by: Rob Cooper on December 15, 2005 11:29 PM

Oh, and the "Bob" that Lurch (Nickname also credit to Rush, meaning Kerry) refers to is Bob Shieffer of CBS News from "Face the Nation" on 12-4-05, in case you missed it, which, if you have even the slightest iota of a life, you did miss it, and yep I missed it also.

I have, before me, one of my most cherished of photos:

It's a Company Formation at Quantico, Virginia on a Friday in Feb of 1971. ALL of the troops in the pic have returned from combat Viet Nam and are arrayed at the 1PM (1300 Hours) Roll Call.

What warms my cockles, what gives me Cause, what can't EVER be taken from me is this:

I was a SGT. of Marines!

A SGT (E5) of "Radio" Marines!

And I wasn't this "THING" because of any political-correctness or privledge: I EARNED IT.

A SGT of Marines!

As I look upon the Blogosphere today, as I go about my daily-business of Education, I sometimes tend to let things go as they will, -but ONE THING REMAINS:

Once upon Time, I was a SGT. of Marines!

Even now, down to this very day, such is the thing that colors my relationships and political-outlook.

I was all of twenty years-old then.

The subsequent-Service in the United States Air Force, the multiple & various advanced Academic Degrees, the career of 30+ years in Collegiate Academia pales by comparison.

My Mom & Dad both died in 1979; they thought the HS-dropout (ME!) was the failure-child of our brood of Nine, but I 'have' something they both admired:

I was a Sgt. of MARINES.

I USED to think of such a thing as being a "War-Pig"; no more.

When you come down on me, as my experience has taught me that you will, realize that I once was in charge of your Son's and Daughters.

Fair, Firm & Impartial I was; I'm the better Man today because of having been the "Sarge-in-Charge" of a group of Marines!

Sgt of Marines! -nothing else has ever meant more to a Man.

Denny is awesome! Oh man, the laughs never stop on this blog!

DanS --
My condolences on your abusive childhood, but man, it's over. It's high time to quit feeling cheated that mom and dad didn't love you, and that your becoming a "trained killer" was the only thing they ever approved of.

Yes, war requires killing the enemy, but there's a world of difference between hunting down the enemy and slaughtering innocent civilians. Our troops are good at the former, but are rightfully charged with criminal misconduct for the latter -- unlike the terrorists we oppose.

As for your "I was a sergeant of Marines" speech, save it. I was an Army infantry lieutenant -- ranger qualified -- BFD. That has nothing to do with the moral justification for this war.

Posted by: Bob on December 16, 2005 10:51 AM

Oh, Denny. You sly dog, you. You rule. I am nothing but an insignificant slug.

Posted by: Carlo on December 16, 2005 11:19 AM

Bob,

Don't fail to miss his point here. It is the moral justification for this war that makes him prouder than ever to have been a marine. Just because you had an abusive childhood doesn't mean Dan did.

And Dan let me say for certain that I am proud of you as well.

Posted by: fastdad on December 16, 2005 11:34 AM

Bob:

Look at the title of the GOC post you are responding to; look at the pictures if that's what it takes.

Where on Earth do you get the idea that ......

Bah. Have a fine Navy Day anyway.

Posted by: DanS. on December 16, 2005 01:10 PM

Bob: You say "trained killer" like it's a bad thing. Besides, what's wrong with destabilizing the entire middle-east with a little freedom and capitalism? It's not like we're making things worse for the Iraqi's, just everyone else.

I, too, have had a pretty good life, but everything pales in comparison to my service in the Army. (11B & 12B) Best times ever, and nothing has made me as proud to be an American than to understand first hand what it costs to be free.

Posted by: Reddog245 on December 16, 2005 03:24 PM

Bob,
Trained killers is exactly what we need in war. Trained florists don't win wars and neither do trained interior designers. War is about killing the enemy and breaking his stuff. Hence, we need to train people to do exactly that. The title "Trained Killer" is an honor earned.
I to, like Dan, was a Sgt. of Marines with two combat tours as an 0311 (infantry rifleman) in '67, '68, and '69. Being anything other than a 'trained killer' would have certainly meant my parents would have gotten their only son back in a box. OO-RAH

G. Dubya does not greet the coffins at Dover. Thank you Denny for enlighting me. RIC, great post. But to be so arrogant as to believe that you lived through your Nam experiance just because you believed yourself as a " Trained Killer" is beyond stupid. You were just lucky. Hate to tell you, but you could have been picked off at any time.

Well,

No one ever says it. Like when talking about Moortha the Repubs always start off with "he's a great man, blah, blah, blah".........no he's not. He's a lying fucking cowardly dipshit who uses the typical liberal approach of just saying something whether true or not and no one ever calls on him to present facts.

Back to what no one ever says. 2100 killed in Iraq so far. Thousands wounded! That's bad...but....truth be told...big fucking deal.

If you truly understand what we are fighting for (as our brave, wonderful men and women soldiers do) then many thousands means nothing. What it means is, those beautiful "young" men and women died for YOU, and to protect YOU. That is truly the ultimate sacrifice.

And who the fuck is Murtha to have the goddamn nerve to "speak for our soldiers?" Why does anyone even listen to these assholes instead of just telling them they are full of shit and to fuck off.

The truly BIG picture in the "war on terror" (bullshit term)is: There will never be peace on this planet until Islam and the koran are totally eliminated from existence.

Goes against your brainwashed sensibilities about the first amendment? Tough shit.

Just because a book is structured about "how" life should be and references God, doesn't mean it isn't wrong, evil and dangerous. It was written by a murderous, pedophile, sex crazed, thief, who never "worked" a day in his life, except to steal from others. He then has this "revelation" from the "Angel David" writes it down, and proceeds to influence the world for the worse in his murderous, evil ways, for tousands of years. And it isn't going to stop because of "voting in Iraq."

The answer, get rid of every shred of evidence of that piece of shit that masquerades as a religion, the koran, and then worry about freedonm of religion and the press.

Before you let your sensibilities come out, study what the koran says and what Islam is and then get back to me.

Posted by: Mean Dog on December 17, 2005 09:10 AM

Mean Dog barked : Before you let your sensibilities come out, study what the koran says and what Islam is and then get back to me.

Because YOU studied koran and islam ?
You accept freedom of religion, as long as it's a christian religion ?
But i assume you don't care a lot of africa nor middle-east...

Posted by: Prosper on December 19, 2005 05:33 AM

I wouldn't say study.

Read two "bias" books on the subject:
1. The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam by Robert Spencer.
2. The Legacy of Jihad by Andrew Bostom

O.K., if I grant that Islam is a nation, then I am advocating destroying it before it spreads any further. It is NOT a religion of peace, but barbarism and hate. Unless of course you become Islamic.

Three choices under this so-called religion:
1. become Islamic
2. become a dhimmi, i.e., subservient "slave" to all of Islam
3. Death

I chose death! But death to Islam first, not the western world.

Posted by: Mean Dog on December 19, 2005 08:29 AM

Are you recommending rehabilitation camps for american muslims ? You may find some noth-korean rulebook to adminitsrate them...

Posted by: Prosper on December 19, 2005 09:11 AM

Prosper - I'm not recommending the total destruction of Islam. After all, we cannot wipe out one billion people. That would make us just like them. But, Islam has to reform itself just like Christianity did. Our job is to somehow force that reformation. The western world is so blinded by the stupid liberal multiculterism and political correctness bullshit that we are ignoring the dangers of Islam. Look at the rapes of western women by Muslim dickheads in Sweden and Norway. Their defense is the women brought it upon themselves by dressing the way they do. Unless bullshit like this is addressed, it's only gonna get worse.

Posted by: Denny on December 19, 2005 09:40 AM

not sure that partial destruction would be reasonable either, denny !!

;-)

extremists must be fought, and there are most muslims extremists than from other religions, that's true.

but they are not extremists because of their religion. They are extremists because they are poor and bad-educated. Because their religion is Islam, their leaders told them that Koran told them to detroy lives. If they had been christians, their leaders would have told them about the Bible (one of your guest told me here some weeks ago that the bible spoke about the swords of the apostles).

Posted by: Prosper on December 19, 2005 09:51 AM

Actually Prosper, they are. Read the Koran. Read what Mohammed has to say about the infidels.

But I'm glad to see that you now agree with me on Iraq and the importance of creating a democracy that will raise the educational standards and the economic conditions for its populace.

Posted by: Denny on December 19, 2005 10:03 AM

Denny, i belong to an old country (hmm Rummy, stop sneezing behind my back), and our history is full of inquisition and religious wars. Religion (including mine, first of all mine, catholiscism) mean war and violence in dark ages. And lot of islamic country are still in dark ages...

I'm with you to help raising educational standard, but invading a country is not the best way. Their hatred of america (and of each other)is the only common denominator between sunnis et chiits. And you cannot offer democracy. It must be won. We beheaded our king, you kicked english asses.

The best part of the Kerry quote was left off. Why? The part that shows Kerry's true IQ is the end, where he says:

The Iraqi's should be doing that. (That being the going into the home at night, terrorizing kids etc.)

Kerry and his followers are shitstupidmorons.
