Got it from Catfish.
Y'know, when I listened to the soundbite, I wondered why Hillary didn't get the next sentence right. She said, "And you know what I'm talking about." instead of saying, "know what I'm sayin?". C'mon Hillary, Bill, our first black president, would have known the correct Ebonics phrase to use. You need to go back and retake Pandering To Blacks 101.
Posted by denny at January 23, 2006 10:59 PMYeah, I was appalled that she made such a bold statement. Then I read that several Republican's had made the exact same statement and yet did not get the press that she did. Makes one wonder.
Posted by: Teresa on January 24, 2006 12:03 AMHuh? What Republicans? Can you give me the quotes? I can guarantee that if a Republican had said anything like that it would have been shouted out by the Lamestream Media. Put up or shut up!
Posted by: Denny on January 24, 2006 12:10 AMOn the Sunday morning news/windbag programs, when airing Hillary's quote, they cut it off just before she said "And you know what I'm talking about". Accident? Feh!

In today's editorial columns of my daily commie rag (Florida Today) syndicated columnist DeWayne Wickham quoted Newt Gingrich (from 1994):
"I clearly fascinate them," he said tauntingly of Democrats. "I'm much more intense, much more persistent, much more willing to take risks to get it done. Since they think it is their job to run the plantation, it shocks them that I'm actually willing to lead the slave rebellion."
Haven't checked out the accuracy of this quote, but I don't think that it is in the same vein as the H's comment.....just reporting what I read.
Posted by: B....... on January 24, 2006 01:49 PMOh, this is great...love it!
Have you all seen the one with Nagin as Willie Wonka?...I say Willie Wanker 'cause he is such a jerk off!
Posted by: vicki on January 24, 2006 04:29 PMHey B, You admit reading "Florida Today"? I gave up on that piece of Sh--- years ago. Thanks to the net we sane people can read something other than these left wing rags!
Posted by: gene hall on January 24, 2006 05:00 PMI'm appalled she made such a statement, and I'm black.
When I heard the "plantation" speech, I knew she was trying to manipulate blacks. Not all African Americans obsess over "Roots." We know are pasts, are proud we survived and we just want to get on with are present and future. If she wants our vote (particularly mine) talk to me like a grownup.
Teresa - We got one Republican (not several), Newt Gingrich, who did say sumpin' about a plantation and I'm surprised the LSM didn't excoriate him at that time. I guess they were too busy getting him on other stuff.
Hillary was obviously pandering in the worst way. This is like Dean's remarks in a conference that if the Republicans had a similar conference, the only blacks in the room would be the servers. By these statements you see how Dean and Hillary are patronizing black Dimocrats. And what is sad is the blacks do not even realize it.
Posted by: Denny on January 24, 2006 05:13 PMIf you ever read the Wall Street Journal Best of the Web Today by James Taranto, last week it had the Newt Gringrich quote and it is nothing like what Hillary Clinton did.
Posted by: KIm on January 24, 2006 05:27 PMRoger that Gene - the lady next door needs papers for her dog. So.....
Posted by: B....... on January 24, 2006 08:17 PMSorry to weigh in late on this one, but Teresa, can you honestly tell me that you believe what that silly bitch puked out of her mouth compares to anthing the Republicans have ever said or done?
Seriously, if you can't be honest about the motivations and minipulations your party tries to pull off, I don't know how you look yourself in the mirror...or tie your shoes for that matter!
Thanks for playing!

Posted by: Harvey on January 25, 2006 09:58 PMYoure right, the correct ebonics phrase is "Know what I'm saying" pronounced "NOMESANE". Sometimes to amuse myself I'll count how many times some college or pro athlete will say that in an Interview. For some reason you never hear NASCAR drivers use that phrase.
