Citizenship Test

Got this e-mail from Charlieb.

Okay you red-blooded Americans, let's see how you do on this test:

Very interesting questions.

How well would you do if you took the citizenship test?

Try this out - educational and fun.

24 out of 30 is considered a passing grade.

Approximately 96% of all High School Seniors who took this test FAILED. (Doesn't surprise me a bit...GOC)

If that's not bad enough, 50+% of all people over fifty who took it failed also. (Also doesn't surprise me, but they probably know the contestants on American Idol and Survivor, two shows that I have never watched...GOC)

Take the test.

FYI, I got 28 right and I'm over 50. My sister will either tie that score or do better. No, I will not tell you which ones I missed.

Josh-
You've been 15 years old for a couple years now...

Nevertheless, if you are still in highschool, keep doing what you are doing. You're on the right track!

29 here. I thought Ike was born in Kansas...

Posted by: Rob Cooper on February 2, 2006 01:01 AM

Me too, Rob!!

Posted by: Indigo on February 2, 2006 01:13 AM

I got the following right:
3,5,6,10,11,12,13,14,15,17,18,20,22,23,26,28,30.
That's only 17, but then I'm an Aussie and am supposed to know SFA about America.

Posted by: Jim from Downunder on February 2, 2006 01:32 AM

Jim from Downunder, I'm watching the "Eagles Farewell Tour" from Melbourne on DVD...

Posted by: Rob Cooper on February 2, 2006 03:10 AM

BTW Jim, what does SFA mean?

Posted by: Rob Cooper on February 2, 2006 03:12 AM

Indigo, Ike's family moved to Kansas when he was 2 yrs. old...dammit!!!!

Posted by: Rob Cooper on February 2, 2006 03:17 AM

I was amazed. I got 30. Some of them were tricky though.

Posted by: Mike S. on February 2, 2006 03:42 AM

BTW I got A's in American History, World History. Got a C in Australian History when I lived there (the teacher and I didn't get along). Got a B in Russia in the 20th Century in college (had an A at mid-term, wanted to drop but the professor wouldn't let me, I guess he thought I could keep it up). Got A's and B+'s in German Language, which included German history.

Posted by: Mike S. on February 2, 2006 03:45 AM

CharlieDelta-

I turn 16 in April, smartass :D. I don't know anyone on the planet, aside from a 40 year old housewife, who'd care to lie about their age on the Internet.

Posted by: Josh Fahrni on February 2, 2006 04:25 AM

Got a 28. Not too bad is it ?? Well over 50 also.

Posted by: James on February 2, 2006 07:21 AM

I got 22

never been within 5000 miles of the USA

Posted by: Paul on February 2, 2006 07:34 AM

Missed two - Ike & one Amendment question

Over 65, by the way. If I hadda guess, I'd say all four of my adult kids would get around 25. High school grads who can't do better'n 50% on that should be horsewhipped.

Posted by: babalu on February 2, 2006 07:46 AM

missed two -- Ike's birthplace and which amendment was current.

Posted by: hoosierboy on February 2, 2006 08:56 AM

I missed one-kind of makes me ashamed of myself

Posted by: GUYK on February 2, 2006 09:35 AM

Missed the last two.

Posted by: Ric on February 2, 2006 11:13 AM

Missed one...the date the last amendment was ratified.

Posted by: Poppanole on February 2, 2006 11:25 AM

Missed one... and twelve others !!

but i'm not really a red-blooded american...

;-)

Posted by: Prosper on February 2, 2006 12:12 PM

I'm embarassed... I "passed" with a 24. Did fine until the amendments. Holy crap, did I suck...

Posted by: That 1 Guy on February 2, 2006 01:21 PM

24 - not bad for an Englishman...

Posted by: SundogUK on February 2, 2006 02:18 PM

I got 28 right. I missed the questions about the official language of the United States, and the number of amendments.

Posted by: Dkelsmith on February 2, 2006 05:38 PM

29/30 (missed the amendments not ratified one)

I'm a senior in HS, and in my AP Gov. class we took the most recent official citizenship test (as this is titled an "independence day quiz; it was ~100 Qs I think). It was even easier than this thing. I got 99/100 on that puppy (I was saddended by the number of people in my class who didn't pass though, and by how easy it is for immigrants who know enough to become citizens).

Posted by: Andy on February 2, 2006 07:04 PM

Perfect score.

Posted by: Bobbert on February 2, 2006 08:00 PM

26 out of 30. The Ammendments were my downfall.

Posted by: Ralph Gizzip on February 2, 2006 09:30 PM

26 out of 30. Ditto on the Amendments, and Andrew Johnson's impeachment completely slipped by me...

Posted by: El Capitan on February 2, 2006 11:43 PM

Not one of your best tests Denny. Hell, I am just angry at myself that I did so poor. Thank you for posting that test, and please realize that it has nothing to do with my liberal views.>>>doubtful.

Posted by: Teresa on February 3, 2006 12:29 AM

Shit. I got five wrong!

Posted by: AnnaD on February 3, 2006 09:23 AM

28! Now I can drive a cab in New York City!

OK, I didn't know about the six unratified amendments, but I think that the current amendment question was a trick. I mean, I drink all the time. Prohibition is hardly "current" or "In the now" or "the new black".

age 20, and i gots all of em :)

Posted by: Heath on February 3, 2006 10:53 PM

29 out of 30....I protest my POD grade back in 1959 when the correct answer was 1. My teacher???? back then said the answer was 0 as it was well known a person was innocent until proven guilty & unless a President was removed from office , he was not officially impeached. So! I have answered this question both ways & been wrong both times, must be a liberal conspiracy to defraud a conservative from his just educational assessment.

Posted by: dudley1 on February 4, 2006 11:14 AM

dudley1 - Wrong! Impeachment is done by the House. What it means is that charges are brought up against the offender and then referred to the Senate for trial. Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton were both impeached by the House of Representatives. Both were acquited by the Senate. Johnson was acquited by one vote and the person who cast that vote voted his conscience and realized that his career in the Senate was probably over.

30 out of 30. 5 years of college and finally, proof that my history major was useful for something. Would you like fries with that?

Posted by: DPatten on February 5, 2006 09:17 PM

Denny, I agree with you..... but a butthead liberal teacher insisted his interpretation was correct in the dim past of my educational odyssey & denied what should have been an "A" & awarded me a "B+". Having assumed that all facets of the educational establishment are controlled by the liberal elite, I anticipated what the liberal interpretation would be. Wrong again! should have gone with my base instincts. I had my 13 year old grandson take this quiz....he got 24, not bad, there is hope for the coming generation.

Posted by: dudley1 on February 5, 2006 10:01 PM

Hell, i got 26 right and i'm plastered as i make this post.
i wonder how i do sober.
