Byrdland

Got this e-mail from my sister.

We just got back from WV and Maryland. We went skiing one day at Snowshoe in WV on our way up to Deer Park to pick up our boat. We towed it home yesterday. On the way we drove on the Robert C. Byrd appalachian highway system, through the Robert C. Bryd interchange, over the Robert C. Byrd highway bridge, and by the Robert C Byrd technology park. I am surprised that they didn't name the spectacular bridge over the new River gorge the Robert C. Byrd bridge, but somehow he missed getting his name on that one.

If he stays in office much longer they'll name the whole farking state after him.

Your sister isn't the only one that is surprised he didn't get the New River Gorge bridge named after him. And yes, a lot of us WVn's are embarrassed by his antics. As for staying in office, I suspect he will be there till he dies + one term.

Born and raised in WVa and still love the mountains. Left there as a Dimocrat and later become a Republican as the Republicans were the only ones who professed sound goverment. Now I am totaly confused as neither damn party is worth a thin dime! I am and will always be a conservative but now understand that conservatism was left at the door when Ronald Reagan left the stage.

I thought all bridges had to be named after Ted Kennedy...
