What the hell happened?

Howsa 'bout the welfare state? Look. I don't mind paying taxes. Really! I just think that our tax system is broken and needs to be fixed. It is a disgrace that the average American family is unable to compute their own taxes. It is also a disgrace that our tax code is so confusing that even the IRS cannot figger it out. And speaking of the IRS, if you are audited it is up to you to prove your innocence rather than the IRS having to prove your guilt.

You wanna fix the tax code? Here are ways that would do it.

1. No withholding. What a scam this is. "Oh boy! I'm getting money back!" No you fucking ignorant tool! You are getting money back that you lent the gummint at zero percent interest. If everyone had to sit down and write the gummint a check for their tax bill on April 15, the tax code would be overhauled in no time flat. Either that, or there would be a bunch of politicians out of work.

2. After eliminating withholding, move the election to April 15. Adios Dimocrats! Hello Fair Tax.

3. Make every representative and senator do their own taxes and be audited by the IRS. I guarantee the tax code would be simplified. Can you imagine Cynthia McCommie or Shelia Jackson Lee trying to do their own taxes? "What the muthafuck is this all about?" Well if they fucked up, they could always scream racism.

I could think of more things, but I'm hammered and I have to get up at a reasonable time tomorrow since I'm getting a surround sound system installed tomorrow. God! I love being a SRF©.

Hey Scott! Fuck the poor! I got mine. Let them get theirs.

How about making tax day the first Monday in November. That way people would be thinking more clearly on election day about who and what to vote for.

Denny!.... Scott`s a piece of work,I hope you let him continue to post as I shread his posting & spread them on my wife`s flower bed ..... the BS in them make`s the plants grow fast. Nice tax rant as I am in tears writing my IRS contribution at the present time.

Scott`s a piece of work,I hope you let him continue to post as I shread his posting

"Shread" is a new verb for me. What does it mean? Respond in un-paragraphed text blocks with regurgitated talking points, illogic and misplaced superiority? Keep up the good work, dud.

Scott--I haven't read your long response to what must've been a comment in another thread yet, but I should point out that when you flame someone else's spelling and grammar, you would do well to not make your own mistakes.

Thanks for the advice, but while I'm sure I've had a typo or two, I'd put my spelling and grammar up against any of these posters. It appears clear to me that the majority of these posters prefer ebonics to English. Since when is "sumpin'" a word?

Posted by: Scott on April 13, 2006 01:44 PM

Scott, if you love socialism and outrageous taxation to support scumbag leeches who contribute zero to our economy, but always have their dirty hands out wanting more from the producers of our society, then move your pathetic ass to France, because as long as real Americans who understand what this country was founded upon (such as those of us who read and post on GOC.com) can vote, it's not going to happen here.
Are you happy now? There are no mistakes and no typographical errors! Now go fuck yourself you pussy liberal douche bag.

Posted by: Rob Cooper on April 13, 2006 02:12 PM

As it stands right now, I've heard that less than 5% of Americans pay over 70% of the federal tax bill. Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm probably not that far off. Socialists like Scott contend that since the rich get richer and the poor get poorer, the solution is to tax the rich even more. Right now, 1/3 of American citizens DO NOT pay federal taxes. In fact, they actually receive a net gain at tax time.

By taxing the rich even more, what we essentially do is place an even larger burden on a diminishing minority of the American population. This is a huge problem because this essentially gives the rich and elite even more power. People wonder why the government pays so little attention now to the little guy. Duhhhhhh. The little guy no longer contributes to the pot, and entitlement demands grow louder every day. Its a slippery slope. Its not fair to the poor or to the rich. I think everybody should pay their fair share. How? A federal consumption tax period. You buy, you pay. No more federal witholdings, no more deductions, no more loopholes. Scott, if you think about it, there are so many loopholes in the IRS tax system today, all designed by the rich of course, the net to society is actually negative. I contend that a fair tax based on a flat-rate from the consumption of goods and services will solve this problem for ever. Government revenues would actually increase, people's lives would be a whole lot simpler. Everybody would have a voice because everybody is contributing, even the bum on the street buying that bottle of MadDog 20/20. That's my opinion.

Scott - I'm not running from a debate. I just closed a thread that was too long and was going nowhere. I won't convince you and you cannot convince me because I am right. You continued it here and it has nothing to do with this post so I deleted it. My site. My rules. You will not convince me that France and Germany have a better economy with no poverty because they don't. That's what the riots last year were all about.

In the future, stay on topic or I will delete the comment. When I close a thread it stays closed.

Also refrain from correcting spelling or grammar. My use of sumpin' is like my use of gonna or wanna. That is the way I talk.

Scott - I'm not running from a debate. I just closed a thread that was too long and was going nowhere.

Too long? Too long for what? What is the problem with the thread being long? Apparently people enjoyed posting in it.

I won't convince you and you cannot convince me

If this is the test, then all threads should be closed, because no one is changing anyone's mind.

You will not convince me that France and Germany have a better economy with no poverty because they don't.

Interesting that you prefer to limit the debate to the economies of France and Germany vs. USA. I talk about all of western Europe and you cherry-pick two economies that aren't doing so wello right now. Why leave out UK and the rest of western Europe? Maybe because that doesn't serve your argument so well. So, you mention a couple of currently underachieving economies (both of which have been very strong over the last 30 years) and pretend that the exception is the rule.

Also refrain from correcting spelling or grammar. My use of sumpin' is like my use of gonna or wanna. That is the way I talk.

Denny, I have no doubt that is how you talk. I just find it funny that my intelligence is criticized by some posters whose grasp of the English language is tenuous at best.

Posted by: Scott on April 13, 2006 03:02 PM

Paul - Actually it's about 45% of the workers who pay no income tax.

Posted by: Denny on April 13, 2006 03:02 PM

Actually Scott, according to the Ireland March 2006 economic report, Ireland's income per capita now exceeds the EU 15.

Posted by: Paul on April 13, 2006 03:03 PM

Denny, it is quite pathetic that when you are losing a debate and you've been called out on not having the facts, just wild assertions, you foreclose debate and start deleting posts.

It is the weakest of positions which cannot stand in the light of debate.

Boy it didn't take very long for me to expose your right-wingnut positions as a house of cards.

Posted by: Scott on April 13, 2006 03:04 PM

Fuck you Scott! Denny does not lose debates.

Posted by: gene Hall on April 13, 2006 03:26 PM

Is this YOUR blog, Scott?

What's that? It's NOT?

Guess you don't make the rules about when to close a thread, then.

Posted by: Dave on April 13, 2006 03:27 PM

Scott - Now you are resorting to namecalling. That's against the rules. Here's a fact: Ireland GDP growth rate 4.7%. Unemployment 4.2%. Source here. That's even better than ours. Yeah all those economists are laughing their asses off. Your left wing moonbat positions are just as easily demolished. Forty years of failure in the War on Poverty and your solution is to continue it. It is tiresome debating left wing moonbats. You are just a typical leftwing poverty enabler. You claim to care for the poor yet you support policies that keep them poor. Your condescending bullshit about helping the poor is just that. Bullshit! I was poor. Now I'm rich. I care more for the poor than you do so just go fuck yourself. The black family was a strong social unit until the mid sixties when the Great Fucking Society started. Congratulations to you and your party for fucking up the black people in this country and the neat thing is, they thank you for it.

Now go away. I'm tired of your bullshit. As someone else said, if you are so in love with the French and German economies, go live there. Don't export their failing policies here. They would love to have our 4.7% unemployment rate. They would love to have our 3.5% growth rate.

Fact: France GDP growth 1.6% Unemployment 10%.
Fact: Germany GDP growth .9% Unemployment 11.6%

Their deficits are rising. Ours is falling.

Fuck you Scott! Denny does not lose debates.

You're right. He doesn't. I wish I was as smart as him.

Posted by: Scott on April 13, 2006 03:41 PM

Oh, now it's immigration again. 13-20 million Mexicans come over the border and some/most now are protesting our policies and laws because we have to be nice to them and the Dimocrats are siding with them when 82% of Americans are pissed!
If they want a change, then let the bastards go back to their countries of origin and change their damn corrupt goverments. They run away from their own responsibilities and come here and raise their flag and exclaim how great their fucking coutry is. Can anyone comprehend this?

Posted by: gene Hall on April 13, 2006 04:00 PM

"And, by the way, one of the reasons Ireland's growth rate is so high is that their economy was so shitty that it had a hell of a lot of room to grow."

Yes, and that is why they implemented major tax reforms which earned Ireland the fastest growing economy during the 1990s. Australia came in second, and they also implemented major tax reforms. I'll have to find my sources to cite, but I am correct.

Also, here is a damning report that refutes everything you have been saying about the European economy. Scott, snapshots are snapshots, you are right. But the present unemployment rate in France and Germany combined represents a declininig trend in western Europe. Many blame their open immigration policies, which have all but created a permanent underclass sucking off the big pig's nipples.

I like River Rat's idea having tax time right before elections.

Make Denny look foolish....fat chance!!! GOC is like a chain saw when he gets going on a putz like Scott.

Scott --

Dude, are you for real? Please tell me you're only kidding here. Please tell me that you're just blowin' smoke. Please tell me you don't vote.

Tell you what, perhaps you could learn from this:

Liberalism always generates the exact opposite of it's stated intent. Period. The end.

Posted by: Braden on April 13, 2006 07:54 PM

Denny, 45%? Wow. Rush Limbaugh made an intriguing comment last week. He said that whenever a minority of the American population pays federal taxes, the chance for real tax reform will be gone permanently. That's a profound thought, and I'm inclined to agree with him. So we have only 6% to go based on your number.

Posted by: Paul on April 13, 2006 08:12 PM

Rush,Denny, Vicki and CD always be right!

Posted by: gene Hall on April 13, 2006 10:30 PM

Paul - The last figures I've heard were the top 1% of taxpayers make 17% of the income and pay 34% of the taxes.

Scott - I've yet to see any facts supporting any of your arguments, just the same old loony lefty talking points. You have a serious case of projection since you, like most liberals, accuse me of the stuff that you are guilty of. That's one of the reasons I closed the thread. If you want to debate try using facts. You have degenerated into a troll. Of course I picked Germany and France. They are Europe's largest economies and those are the economies you want us to emulate. Those are the economies I always refer to when talking about Europe and failed social policies. I brought up Ireland because they discovered that low taxes and a pro-business economy led to higher growth and lower unemployment. Jesus! How much did you or your parents pay for your degrees? I set the parameters: a comparison of our economy to that of France and Germany. Since you are now a troll, just leave or else I will have to initiate my troll policy. Debating idiots becomes very tiresome after a while. This is my blog and I always get the last word. Don't like it? Start your own blog and see how many readers you get with your liberal rantings. I'll even throw you a link. Oh,I'm sorry (not really) to say the the Dimocrats will not take over the House in November. That's a dream that ain't gonna happen.

Posted by: Denny on April 13, 2006 10:44 PM

Scott can't handle the facts and data, and neither can his ass pumpin' liberal friends. Fuck you liberals. You're worth about as much as the Hubbabubba bubblegum stuck to the tires on my Cadillac.

I've said it before, I'll say it again:

I have come here every single day for close on to 4 years now, because Denny is reliable about posting.

As I have been accused, so shall I respond: some OF YOU are as equally nutty as I am! But you'll get no negative-post from me telling you how you ought to think or be you.

Perhaps I am on the wrong Site; I subscribe to any & all ideas that empower both myself and the any & all others. Something about what "goes 'round, comes 'round."

So shoot me. My 'bad' is I keep buying-into all your pro-offered solutions to all of the various problems. Except they keep changing. Solutions as well as problems. Makes me wanna numb myself. But I'll keep coming back every single day cuz Denny POSTS every single day.

As I understand it, I'm supposed to embrace one rigid ideology and defend it at all cost no matter the facts.

I won't agree with Denny all the time on all the issues, but his is an HONEST voice & position and I respect that more than I can say. I can honestly say I look at things a tad differently as a result of reading here daily.

>That's a credit to youYOU for your being the impetus to my better well-being!

"I"-statements versus "you"-statements.

K?

Posted by: DanS on April 14, 2006 02:15 AM

wow. this whole place has fallen into a shouting match.

Denny, can we ditch the labeling people Communists? I mean really. While the Democrat goals "may" be closer to communism than Republican goals, it's not like any democrat is the next Mao or anything, carrying around a little red book. I haven't heard any Democrat talking about communes, government owned business, and complete government control over all aspects of life lately. Yes, you can exaggerate welfare or the current tax system and claim that it is akin to communism... but that's hogwash. Polictics is a ton of grey, and that's making it black and white. I think there's a bit more room in there.

Cuz think about it this way, calling lefties communists is akin to calling righties fascists.. And since Nazis were a fascist party, that invokes Godwin's law and the arguement is over. Correct?

In regards to taxes... yeah, the rich are going to pay the most. Why? Cuz they make most of the money.

Also, a reason poor people don't get taxed at all b/c it isn't worth it for the government. For example, Joe schmoe doesn't make much money and thus didn't want to pay the taxes he owes. The government doesn't really care b/c it would COST them more money to collect said taxes than the taxes were really worth. Especially with jail, court costs, collection agents, whatever. So that may have something to do with it.

I don't see how we can do away with withholding. Being in the Credit Card business, I see first hand how many people don't pay their bills. Obviously, there would be reprucussions to the people, but the financial impact of people just not paying anything at ALL would be crippling. Then we'd have to pack up the War on Terror b/c we can't afford it.

Also, if Scott has two political science degrees, I might take some more time to listen to him in his field of expertise than to IMMEDIATELY shit on him and his education, just b/c he doesn't share the same viewpoint. I'm not absolving him of all wrong or anything, he's taken his share in the degeneration of formal debate, but I strongly disapprove of people dismissing such education as worthless. "I got two degrees in the school of hard knocks...." or " I got a degree on the streets", sounds just about as dumb as it is worthless in a professional field.

How about putting

Education: B.L. (bachelor of life), School of Hard Knocks, 1990,

on your resume? I'm sure that would work.

Posted by: Robin Palm on April 14, 2006 02:17 AM

"in his field of expertise"???

(Denny, I have to steal the BWAHAHAHAHHA)

BWAHAHAHAHAHA!

Left Field you mean Robin. He's wayyy out in Left Field!

""I got two degrees in the school of hard knocks...." or " I got a degree on the streets", sounds just about as dumb as it is worthless in a professional field."

Hey Robin, please tell me what your definition of 'professional field' is. To me it means the real world that I see on a daily basis, not your fantasy of rainbows and snowflakes..

You are in over your head Robin. Scott is in a 'professional field' cause he has a couple 'degrees' in brainwashing simple people as yourself. Is he your professor? Are you blowing him for that 3.2gpa? I hope you get the most out of your malfunction.

Your "field of expertise" comment put you over the top!

Posted by: CharlieDelta on April 14, 2006 02:39 AM

Uh-uh, okay. What?! Scott has TWO degrees in Political Science? Why is this necessary in life? Obviously the guy can't or won't read the WSJ. What good are his two degrees, if he prefers the Manifesto over Capitalism? Sorry Robin, but obviously Scott has yet to be knocked around. This is a good place for him to start, at least the bruising will only effect his ego.
Denny is King in these here parts and taking a big giant shit on people like Dopey Scott is fun.

Posted by: lisakay on April 14, 2006 04:07 AM

Given what kind of complete and utter crap is taught these days to poli-sci students (at least, the poli sci students I've seen the homework of in the last couple years), his poli-sci degrees (let alone that he has two of them) mean Scott probably has LESS knowledge of how things really work than my five-year-old nephew.

Posted by: Dave on April 14, 2006 07:13 AM

See, this is what I'm talking about. Just b/c he is on the left... his education is "useless". So i guess what's the point in going to school, right? Should everyone just stay home and go to work after 8th grade to get more experience in "real life?" Or should you only try to better yourself and get an education if you're going to be conservative? What a load of crap.
lisakay, the guy is not a communist, anymore that you or anyone on this site are. Communism sucks. End of Story. Also, in that vein, Capitalism, when left completely unchecked, sucks as well. Monopolies, Child Labor, No Labor Unions, No worker rights, corporate corruption (ala Enron), envriomental destruction, employing illegals, outsourcing, and cultural globalization are all negative things that can stem from unchecked capitalism. Think "The Jungle" By upton sinclair, only in modern times. Fortunately, the United States has found some sort of MIDDLE GROUND, in which both Democrats' and Republicans' idealogies lie.
Anyway. Enough ranting. I'm just asking to stop hurling "communist" around like an epithet like we were in the 1950's or something. And discounting anyone's education solely due to political beliefs is just as insulting.

Posted by: Robin Palm on April 14, 2006 08:11 AM

Robin, there are two main reasons that could prevent you from long studies : "to get more experience in real life" or "be stupid"...
the "real life" one is more comfortable...

Denny, was it really the good old time when Mom stayed home to raise the kids?

Posted by: Prosper on April 14, 2006 09:01 AM

Robin - The problem is that he was spouting the liberal lefty talking points with absolutely nothing to back them up except his two poly sci degrees. It gets tiresome debating an idiot. As to the left not being communist, may I present Cynthia McCommie and Barbara Lee (Communist, California). The left wing of the Dimocrat Party are ardent socialists. Yeah, I call 'em commies because they were on the other side during the Cold War. Calling Bush (who domestically is more to the left than Bill Clinton) and the right wing of the Republican Party Nazi's and fascists is nonsense. Nazi is national socialism. Fascism is also a form of socialism. I was polite to Scott until he degenerated into a troll. After he started insulted me, he was fair game.

Posted by: Denny on April 14, 2006 09:10 AM

...there are many people who visit GOC with 'degrees'...Scott's babble is the mantra of the far left.

People can be anything they want on the Internet. Scott craves attention. He falls into the category of people who see "the Internet as a mirror into which they can gaze in narcissistic rapture."

"Denny, was it really the good old time when Mom stayed home to raise the kids?"

Speaking as one of those moms who IS ataying home to raise the kids, I say YES. I happen to enjoy it tremendously, and my son is thriving and happy. And here's another shocker--my husband comes home to a clean house and a good home-cooked meal, too. And washed dishes, even! *gasp* I'm a regular June Fuggin' Cleaver here!

We respect each other's space, we help each other out, and we work on each other's strengths. And at the end of the day I can go to bed safe in the knowledge that I'm holding up my end of the marriage agreement, and that I'm an indispensable part of the family team.

As for you, Scott, do us all a favor and go the hell away. We're getting tired of you spouting the same verbal diarrhea all over the comments threads and then throwing a hissy-fit when the site owner decides to mop it up. Take your grossly-overused hackneyed and moldering talking points to Democratic Underground.

Dudley1 here, who Scott chastised for a spelling error & typing un-paragraphed text blocks. I plead guilty on both counts, first because of fat fingers , second I cannot seem to make this damn computer respond as I want. My technical staff (son) seems to think it`s the loose nut on the keyboard, education is coming. I was sorry to see Scott degrade to a standard liberal defense,an assumed intellectual superiority & mastery of communication. Might even be true but for common sense , I am miles ahead. What the deluded lad does not understand is BS is BS no matter what verbage you sugercoat it with. This is the principle differance between a liberal & a conservative or libertarian. Scott's debating technique

1. Repeat the same old leftist talking points without any facts to support them.

2. Call me a right wing lunatic when I call him on his bullshit and present facts to support my theses.

3. Declare victory when I get tired of his bullshit.

4. Get pissed off when I enforce my rules and promise to do exactly what I say I will do to trolls on my comment form.

Posted by: runt on April 17, 2006 01:15 AM

Jeremy, i would be interested by one of the proofs you talked about.
Denny and Denita (you should have your own TV-show with that names! ;-)), my wife and i are working, we drop the 3 kids every morning at school at 8:30 am, we pick them back à 6:30 pm. Our kids don't need us during the day, they are more independant and resourceful than if they were always in their mom's petticoat (french expression). And to raise as much money as our two wages, one of us (me the man of the house i presume) should certainly work 12 hours a day. That means not seing the childs every night i guess.
So we both work, not very hard, and we can bring time and a nice home to our kids.
I'm going off-topic here, so i hope sometimes we could exchange on those life choices in the appropriate place.

Posted by: Prosper on April 17, 2006 06:40 AM

It is literally impossible to fairly tax under our current income tax setup. No other country in the world funds its government through income tax the way we do. Check out the FairTax, it's the taxation system developed by economists and it single handedly solves the most pressing social issues of our time. Welfare, Social Security, Medicare, the national debt and international trade deficits. It's got a ton of grass roots support and if we get a little more, we just might get it passed!
