I promised Christina that I would post the joke her mother told at the Salt Lick during the Blown-Star Meet. First let me tell you a little bit about Christina's mother. She's Asian, half Chinese and half Vietnamese and English is not her first language, so she speaks with an accent. She also makes great won-tons, but that has nothing to do with the joke. Just wanted to get that in. She also makes great everything else as I discovered when she cooked dinner on the Sunday after the blogmeet. It was well worth staying the extra day.
But, I digress. Here is the joke.
There were these two neighbors. One was an old fart (like me), the other was a single beautiful young women (probably possessing great boobage).
The old fart had an incredible garden, especially the tomatoes, which were big, round, and juicy. The young beautiful babe had a garden that wasn't doing so well.
"How did you get your garden to produce those wonderful tomatoes?", she asked.
"Simple", replied he, "every morning I run naked around my garden three times."
"You're not gonna get me with that one, you dirty old man."
See. I told you he was just like me.
He told her, "I'm going out of town for a week so you don't have to worry about me watching you."
If I had been him, I would have set up a video camera. But that's just me.
A week later he came back and asked her how her tomatoes were doing.
"Not all that well", she replied. "But all my cucumbers are six inches long."

HAHAHAHAHHAHAAAA!
Thank you for the kind words. I think she's pretty awesome, myself.

Posted by: Denny on May 13, 2006 09:13 PMA fine evening, well recalled. Christina's mom is a doll - a Live Wire, as we say. She had all of us cracking up - and drooling for them won-tons.
Posted by: Elisson on May 15, 2006 06:31 AMI could sure stand more of Christina and her Maw-Maw...and more of those mouthwatering wontons!!
I love Asian cooking. I'm gonna have to pester Christina for more of her Mom's recipes. *grin*
