Joe Lieberman

I was challenged to post sumpin' nice about a Dimocrat. I like Joe Lieberman. He is a rare and vanishing species, the soon to be extinct moderate Dimocrat. He actually puts country before party. For that he is being excoriated by what has become the mainstream of the Dimocrat Party.

Are you happy now Teresa?

I would not actually call him a Moderate Democrat. He is what a democrat is supposed to be. All the others are just commies, socialists, or traitors. But I repeat myself.

He lacks the Two Minutes Hate syndrome and that, ironically, is why the far Left hates him. Note, he and Hillary Clinton have similar ACU ratings (17 and 9, respectively), both support the war in Iraq and publicly refute a cut-and-run policy. Yet, Hillary occassionally goes into shrieking Two Minutes Hate sessions and stays somewhat in their graces. I suppose it helps that she is not a dirty pious Jew like him (please understand some sarcasm there).

His lack of open contempt for Bush and Republicans is his undoing, as that sad, irrational, vocal portion of the Left demands raw hate to function each day and must see said hate from their representatives. A simple but wise point made in a book like Eric Hoffer's Thoughts on the Nature of Mass Movements is that a group of the frenzied and passionate cannot be led by an other. And in Lieberman's case, he is worse than, say, Jeff Sessions, a died-in-the-wool conservative; he is a traitor to the party because does not toe the line. Thus spoketh Hillary: "You don't have to fall in love. You just have to fall in line."

Joe is all right but he still has that "free lunch" logic of the dim-a-crits.

Mr. Lieberman is a good man.

As a native of CT I can unequivocally (sp?) say that Joe Lieberman is not only a BLOW HARD, but an honest to goodness fake, phony, fraud who walks to the synagogue with hands folded (wont turn on a light switch on the "Sabbath") yet he WITHOUT hesitation flipflopped on all the "family values" issues he "held so dear" when AL GORE tapped him tol be his VP candidate. As a Repubilican (who loathed Sen Lowell Weicker SO much that I voted for Lieberman) I can say GOOD RIDDANCE to JOE soon enough. I will vote for Ned Lamont in the general election (cuz I cant vote in the Democratic Primary) over the GOP candidate (who doesnt stand a chance here) Fuck Joe Lieberman, and fuck the horse he rode in on.....phony phony phony bastard......

Ruth...please tell us how you really feel.

Great post Denny! I knew you could do it if you set your mind to it. Lieberman is indeed a good man. I should have expected that you would blast the party. Baby steps.

Darn, Gee thanks Ruth, you stole my thunder. I agree!!!

Ever think how much the Democrat part and Hezbollah are alike? They hate everyone who disagrees with them! Can't just have a friendly disagreement, they have to disparage everyone. Then they turn around and blame the R's for divisiveness. What obscene assholes they are and anyone who votes for them.

I agree with Ruth. Some of us are all so jazzed about Lieberman because of his support for the war, but I can't forget how quickly he ditched all of his supposed deeply held beliefs when he was Al Gore's running mate. It was a truly amazing thing to behold. Ostensibly Gore chose Lieberman to attract moderate and conservative voters, but then someone, presumably Gore and his handlers, insisted that Lieberman appear to be much more liberal on those few issues that he seemed conservative, and the Lieberman propmptly dumped his core values. I don't trust Lieberman.

I don't trust Lieberman (Elmer Fudd as I call him) but again I don't trust any Democrats and the Republicans are getting almost as bad.
I can't see any difference in 80% of them.

Posted by: gene Hall on July 29, 2006 10:39 AM

Elmer Fudd? I always thought he bore a far greater resemblence to Howdy Doody....

And while I think of it, this phony bastard (who wont even turn on a light switch on the Sabbath) thinks its perfectly FINE for a woman to go get an abortion.

Joe wants to have it both ways.....He parades around as this holier than thou JEW, yet he REALLY worships at the altar of the Democratic Party.....He's just breathtakingly hypocritical.....

This indicates the sad state of the Dimocrat Party that I could only single out Lieberman and that the only reason I did that is because he appears to be the only Dimocrat who actually wants us to win a war and cares about national defense. At one time we had Samm Nunn, Dimocrat from Georgia. Or Zell Miller, also from Georgia. Perhaps Scoop Jackson.

John Kennedy was as strong on defense as his notably inferior brother is weak on it. Kennedy also cut taxes.

I only made this post because I was challenged by a political ignoramus to say just one thing nice about a Dimocrat.

I'd add the late, great Senator John Stennis from Mississippi. He was a great democrat...

As an example of how you can be judged by the enemies you make, in todays (Aug.2) New York Post : http://www.nypost.com/news/regionalnews/new_woe_for_senator_joe_regionalnews_maggie_haberman.htm

NEW WOE FOR SENATOR JOE

By MAGGIE HABERMAN

August 2, 2006 -- Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson will hit the trail today in support of the man challenging Sen. Joe Lieberman in the Connecticut Democratic primary.

'Nuff said. If the two "Rev.s" are against Joe, I'm definitely for him.
