Well chosen Denny. The French lost in Vietnam long before we did, they wanted their colony back but didn't invest enough, the United States funded, provided aid, war material and support from 1945 to 1954 when the French got their asses handed to them, then we stepped into the void and never lost a battle. We lost the Vietnam war, only after being abandoned by President Johnson, the Democrats, the far left and the press. I like the photo of the Eiffel Tower, Jopo probably can't wait until it's torn down and a mosque is built in its place.

Denny- IIRC, we didn't "lose" in Vietnam, we signed a cease fire, under the terms of which the North Vietnamese agreed to stay in their own country. That we didn't go back when they re-invaded the South is something of which we should be ashamed, but at the time the US left we had achieved a concession from Ho's side that should have been seen as a victory.
Thanks to Cronkites's bitchin' & moanin' the folks here at home got a completely distorted view of the goings on. Read about the Tet Offensive and how it was really a major victory over the NVA and VC. The North actually said that their only hope was for Hanoi Jane & Co. to win the war for them in this country. Thank you, John Kerry, you lousy SOB.

Inbred Redneck - I've stated over and over again that we didn't lose on the battlefields of Viet Nam. Tet was a disaster for the North Vietnamese. Thanks to Uncle Walter, the leftist media, and the Dimocrat Congress, Nixon and Kissinger negotiated "peace with honor" and we split. Then when the North Vietnamese violated the treaty the asshole Dimocrats cut off aid to the South Vietnamese and the rest is history. It was a sad state of affairs and it taught me that Dimocrats cannot be trusted with national security. We won the war on the battlefield and lost it in America. Our own citizens stabbed us in the back. I was in 'Nam during Tet. I was not a grunt, but I was in the Gator Navy on an LST. We got to pull up on the beach and occasionally got some recognition by the gooks.

Denny, I was right in the the middle of Tet. I can't brag about anything I done because I was in Qui Nhon coming out of a whore house about 5 a.m. and all hell broke loose. I made it back to my base at Phu cat on a C7 aircraft and we caught hell for 30 days or more. We did kick ass in that offensive no matter what Uncle Walter said.
