An Act Of Desperation

Many of my reader sent me links to this story just to make me feel bad. They know I want Cynthia McCommie to get re-elected and her latest stunt pretty much ensures that she is toast and burnt toast at that.

A Democratic congresswoman from Georgia is suing The Atlanta Journal-Constitution for libel.

They left out the black part. It should be "a black, female, member of Congress". Get your shit right.

Cindy, Cindy, Cindy, you were doing so well. You smiled throughout the debate. You hammered Hank on his earlier financial problems and his donations from Republicans. You were dynamic and enthusiastic. You had your talking points. You cited Congress.com. Hank was as exciting as a stump. The only real points he scored was when he pointed out that your politics of personal destruction was a desperate act by a desperate candidate. All you had to do was build on your momentum, go door to door, get your base out, and keep your mouth shut and not do sumpin' stupid.

Alas, you just cannot help yourself. Just like you allowed the altercation with the Capitol Police to get out of hand, you've doomed yourself with this stupid unwinnable lawsuit.

Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney filed charges against the newspaper's editor Cynthia Tucker and publisher John Mellott for an editorial column that ran in the Sunday July 30 paper about McKinney’s alleged altercation with police, according to All Headline News.

Cindy, too bad you can't play the race card here, because Cynthia Tucker is black.

McKinney’s attorney, J.M. Raffauf, said the column describes McKinney whacking a police officer with her cell phone, a charge McKinney denies.

And all you would have had to do at the time was apologize to the officer and you would be cruising to re-election and we could look forward to another two years of buffoonery. By the way, Cindy, you did it in front of witnesses. Even your own party and the Congressional Black Caucus threw you to the wolves on this one.

The suit says that other facts were misstated including a reported suggestion by McKinney that President Bush had known about the September 11 terror attacks in advance, and had allowed the plot to unfold so that he and his friends could profit from the resulting wars.

Huh? WTF? Why are you bringing this up? This is what got you booted out of office in 2002. They've got a recording of you saying this. Who is giving you advice?

The suits says that McKinney wants an "immediate retraction in writing these false and libelous statements" and "demands that your retraction and correction be accompanied by an editorial in which you specifically repudiate your libelous statements."

Good luck with that since writing the truth does not constitute libel. Enjoy your two year vacation from Congress. Hank Johnson is leading by 15 percentage points and this latest act of desperation should pretty much sink your campaign. I guess you could get your father to go on TV again and blame the "Jews, J-E-W-S" for your sinking in the polls.

With any luck, God will tell Hank to run for the Senate, just like he told Denise Majette back in 2004 and you can get your seat back in 2008.

Just dayam! I was really looking forward to another two years of your antics. I bet Karl Rove was too.
