Dontcha just hate all those lying liberals who said they were gonna leave the country if Bush was elected and they're still here? Well here we go again. We go yet another lying liberal. It is none other than Charlie Rangel, congresscritter from Harlem. You've seen him on all the talk shows spewing his liberal bullshit.
Rep. Charles Rangel, dean of the city's congressional delegation, said yesterday he may quit Congress if Democrats don't win back the House in November.
Ya notice he's hedging his bets by saying "he may quit". That means he probably won't. After all, he's been in Congress for 35 years and I'm sure he loves all the imperial trapping and perks a "public servant" gets.
How in the heck can we call these assholes "public servants"? They're little emperors with their own little fiefdoms. They get a raise every other year. They've got a great health plan. They've got a great retirement plan. They don't have to obey laws like the rest of us.
For example, what do you think would have happened to one of us if we would have slugged a Capitol Cop? We'd be on the floor with a set of cuffs on us.
Howza 'bout drunk driving like Patrick Kennedy? We would have spent a night in jail. He got a ride home.
It's the other way around. We're the servants. At least that's the way we're treated until three months before the election.
Assholes! And we let them get away with it.
But I digress.
The 76-year-old Rangel is the ranking Democrat on the powerful House Ways and Means Committee and is in line to become chairman - but only if Democrats pick up at least 15 seats to regain control of the House this November.
As much as I would like to throw the Republicans out of the House because they've been spending like Dimocrats, there are three things that terrify me:
1. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi. Yeah. Let's have an over the hill San Francisco hippie as Speaker of the House. If we ever needed some moderate Dimocrats, now's the time.
2. Charlie Rangel as chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee. That is only the strongest committee in the House.
3. The rest of the barking moonbats who would be committee chairmen. What committee would John Conyers chair? Would it be the Armed Forces Committee? Ouch!
My friend Michael and I, who are both disgusted with the Republicans in the House and Senate, have decided that the best configuration of our gummint would be Dimocrats in control of the House, Republicans in control of the Senate, and a Republican as president. By that, we mean a real Republican, not a RINO like Dubya or McCain. Michael thinks McCain is a real Republican. I think he's a RINO.
I could hold my nose and vote for Rudy for his leadership skills if he would diligently prosecute the GWOT and be fiscally conservative. I doubt if Rudy could get through the primaries because of his stand on gun control and his stand on abortion.
With the Republicans in control of the Executive banch and the Senate, they could continue the move of the judiciary to the right and get more judges in who actually believe in the Constitution. Of course, it would be nice if we also had some politicians who actually believed in the Constitution, but I guess I must be asking too much for that.
With a split legislature, I would hope that there would be enough fighting over the budget that we might actually have a president who would veto some spending bills. I'm probably asking too much there also.
But back to Rangel.
"I don't know what positive role I can play sitting on the bench in the minority," Rangel told the Daily News yesterday. "It's like being in a ballgame and never getting a chance to be up at bat."
C'mon Charlie, you could go on talk shows just like you do now.
But Rangel, a Korean War vet and Bronze Star recipient, said he fully expects to be reelected this fall and has no immediate plans to hang up his congressional spurs. If Republicans do retain the House, he said he'd serve out as much of his term "as necessary" to assure a smooth transition, possibly the full two years but possibly less, based upon community input.
Charlie ain't going anywhere. He enjoys being one of the most powerful politicians in New York. He'll probably die in ofice.
By the way Dimocrats, don't count on automatically taking over Congress in the fall. Even though the Republicans are trying their best to alienate their base and lose control of the House, you guys are trying even harder to not let them. You have to have sumpin' more to run on than Bush is evil. You booger eatin' moh-rons keep trying to come up with some sort of platform to run on and it is such a bunch of horsecrap that every month you come up with a new message. That's not how you win elections.
Fortunately, they're all at Kos, and he'll take them down in flames. If the Dimocrats take the House I'll be surprised.
And Charlie will stay on.
Posted by denny at August 3, 2006 03:42 PMThat's why I will be voting for Kinky Friedman for govenor of Texas his worst fuck-up would be better than what most other "public servants" do in their sleep.
Kinky for Govenor.
It's a start.
I'm as perplexed as you Denny. I couldn't bring myself voting for McCain. Rudy likes gun control. The dark horse is George Allen. Anyone who chews skoal and wears western boots can't be all bad.But boy are R's running thin this next election.
Posted by: gene Hall on August 3, 2006 08:00 PMCharlie has been a lying racist bastard in expensive suits for as long as I can remember...
Posted by: vicki on August 3, 2006 08:02 PMLiving in the NY-Metro area, I have been subjected to more than my fair share of the the bullshit of Charlie Rangel. If he didn't hit Life's Lottery and wind up in the House of Representatives, he likely would have been a surley asshole working the counter in the Post Office.

Posted by: vicki on August 3, 2006 09:26 PMEveryone who wasn't living under a rock, saw the then POTUS get off the hook for getting a knob job in the white house while on the clock..lie about it...get caught in that lie..and suffer no consequences for his actions. It opened the door to all who were on the edge to just say 'screw it' and go for it. There are no consequences being paid for outrageous and disgraceful behavior. Well...if you don't count our country going down the shitter that is.

...place your bet.
HELICOPTERS!
That's truly all that sets us apart from all the 'other' yo-yo's in this World of ours.
I'm cursing myself for coming back here to GOC, but as I've always said, Denny posts daily and gives one a REASON for reading here. And posting.
A fellow-Marine sent me a scribbled Check for beau-coup BUCKS just so I would be sure to be in attendance at the Reunion:

of all the Marine Aviation guys & dolls that's held bi-annual; this year it's in Fort Worth, TX. And I'm driving 850 miles each way just to be with my People.
"When a Marine in Vietnam is wounded, surrounded, hungry, low on ammunition or water, he looks to the sky. He knows the choppers are coming..."
Leonard F. Chapman General, USMC Commandant of the Marine Corps
That's what I did for a living 1968 to 1970: get the choppers IN. Charlie Co. 1st Battalion, 1st Marines, 1st Marine Division.
As far as I'm concerned, the rest of the World can go to hell. I saved the lives of Marines by working in conjunction with Marine Air.
Politics, persuasions, peccadilloes, pussy & more don't mean a damn-thing when weighed against the SATISFACTION of meeting-up with a Grunt Marine alive here & now in 2006 as a result of my efforts/training/actions & DEDICATION 35 years ago.

Yeah, tomorrow is another day, prospectively somewhat like today & reeking of yesterday, but: I'll die knowing I saved more than I killed.
That's good enough for me & that's what brought me back to this site of hatred.
Semper Fi!!
DanS.
DanS.,
There is hate here, yes, but mainly there are people upset over the BS politicians and others are getting away with, and the absence of honorable responses to it.
I hate what they're doing. I hate some of the people doing it. But more importantly than that, we're trying to build awareness of the BS. We're trying to promote another way of looking at life, one that acknowledges reality and rejects the falsehoods of the modern day.
Thank you for your service. Semper Fi, do or die!
Posted by: Squidley on August 4, 2006 09:54 AMBut DanS, we only hate those who hate the United States: Moo-slimes, liberals, and the French. We like everyone else and we loooooves boobage.
Posted by: Denny on August 4, 2006 12:22 PMActually, Conyers would be House Judiciary Committee Chairman, and he is already planning on impeaching Bush and Cheney for "lying us into war" in Iraq, even though every president going back to the great Ronald Reagan, and just about every foreign intelligence service said exactly what EVERY president has said, including the first black president, the lib's hero, Bill "Slick Willy" Clinton, not to mention just about every dummycrap senator and house member whom also voted for the removal of Saddam, including that piece of shit traitor ex-marine John Murtha.
Lee Harvey Oswald was also an ex-Marine, as was Charles Whitman, who killed 7 people from the University of Texas tower...
