I had Michael and Cindy over Saturday night to celebrate her birthday. Food and wines:
Crabmeat Cheesecake with Pecan Crust
Laurent Perrier Ultra Brut Champagne
Tomato and Mozzarella Salad
Kistler Chardonnay 2002 (from Michael's cellar)
Prime Rib with New Potatoes and various veggies
Beaune Clos des Marconnets 1995
I had planned to have strawberries and cream for dessert but forgot. It was probably because we were in a hurry to drink some Delamain Vesper Cognac. Cindy's birthday is the official start of cognac season here at GOC Central.
As usual, there was a discussion of politics. Michael thinks the Clinton blowup was orchestrated. I disagree. I know Clinton's a great actor but could he make himself turn red in the face like that?
I think he was genuinely pissed off.
For the last ten years we have been watching the lamestream media play Monica with Clinton. He was asked exactly once about his rape of Juanita Broaderrick (which he has never denied). Had he been a Republican I can guarantee that he would have been asked that question more than once.
We finally found someone who would ask Clinton a tough question and y'all saw what happened. Had the LSM gone after Clinton like they did with Reagan and Nixon and how they are with Bush, we would have seen this side of BJ more than once. And we know he was lying during his tirade. There are two ways to tell if BJ is lying. Whenever he wags his finger at someone you know he is lying. Whenever his lips move you know he is lying.
I had a perfect pictorial representaion of the relationship between Clinton and the LSM and I can't find it. Arrrrgggggghhhh!
I really love the LSM going on about Fox News having an agenda. Like ABCCBSNBCCNNNPRPBS, The New York Times, the Washington Post, and almost all the other big city dailies don't have an agenda? These news outlets may as well be the propaganda arm of the Dimocrat Party. Now they're pissed off that they no longer have a monopoly on the news. Get a grip assholes! The success of Fox just shows how much the country is tired of your liberal bullshit.
Anyway, the dinner was a success and I got hammered. A nice way to celebrate someone's birthday. I also get to eat leftovers tonight.
Posted by denny at October 2, 2006 02:03 PMThere's a third way. When BJ remains silent you know he's lying by omission.
If the Cognac season has opened, can Port be far behind?
Posted by: Rurik on October 2, 2006 05:29 PMMy birthday is in December...
Fox has been inviting the Democrats since the Clinton blow up...it is hysterical to listen to Harmon, Boxer and the others on the defensive.
I agree with you, Clinton's rage wasn't staged. The old fool needs to watch his anger with that bad ticker...we wouldn't want Hillary a martyr and be elected Prez because Bill dropped dead, now would we?
Posted by: vicki on October 2, 2006 07:01 PMHey Vicki, Now I know why we get along. I be Too a Sagittarius. Born on Pearl Harbor day. Actually, a couple of years before. And Denny, nice to have you back in full swing.
Denny, you're invited to NH on January 18th to cook for my 26th birthday. LOL!
Sounds like you guys had a great time. Happy Birthday, Cindy!
