RIP Popeye

From Melissa.

Unfortunately, the quote attributed to Willie Nelson when he was busted for pot recently, "It's a good thing I had a bag of marijuana instead of a bag of spinach. I'd be dead by now." is false.

That damn snopes.com is always ruining the funny quotes and good stories with their damn facts! I was really hoping Willie actually said that. I guess I should've known that quote wasn't actually his. I don't think his brain is that quick anymore. I still like his music though.

I used to like Willie but his ass kissing to the left has led me to ride away just as Poncho and Lefty did. I'll stick to the traditional country. When some asshole entertainer badmouths my country I will never again listen to their music or watch them on TV or in a movie. Thats just the way I am.

I hear ya Gene. I am the same way to a degree. I will still listen to them, but will never again pay a dime for any of their CD's, or pay a dime to see their movies.

You know where I stand in the political arena.

So, in other words, when something, anything flies in the face of your certainty ... it's not worth a damn thing.

I'm down with that.

I'd not spend a dime to hear an alternative voice on any issue whatsoever!

I've got the Internet.

To quote Laura Ingraham, "shut up and sing". If I want to watch a political debate, I'll watch Hannity and Colmes. When I go to a concert, I want to watch a music performance - NOT Chrissy Hynde telling me that the U.S. should lose the war. So you're right, DanS, I'll NOT spend a dime to hear an alternative voice, especially at a concert.

I've got the internet.

Yep DanS., that's a great thing about this country of ours...if we don't agree with someone's politics or anti-Americanism, we have the choice whether or not to give them our patronage.

I was really disappointed to find out that BF Goodrich was a french product. It's a really good A/T tire, but I will no longer pay for them, or use them. Granted, the truck I recently bought came with a brand new set of BFG's on it, so I will use them up, and when the time comes for new tires, I will spend a few bucks more and get Coopers, which are equally as good, if not better, and have the satisfaction of knowing that I bought a set of tires from an American company. I am done with BFG's.

Musicians and actors are no different. If I don't like the message they are spewing, they will not get my business, nor will they ever get it again. Simple as that.

I'm with ya all the way, Charlie. If Clooney, Penn, Streisand, and the Dipshit Chix want to spew their crap, they can do it with someone else's money. Cat Ballou used to be one of my favorite movies, but I can't stand to watch it anymore. That commie-bitch, Osama binFonda, makes me sick.
I knew about Michelin, but I didn't know BFG was owned by the frogs, thanks for the heads up.

Willie was great in the western movie Babarabas. I think that's its name.

Anyway, he says a line in that movie that sums up the Mexican culture (gummit suppression).

"What can not be remedied, must be endured."

Love that line, even if it's for apathetic losers. It sure ain't as hell something an American like the Duke would ever say.

Good movie.

Hey, Willie was always a lefty but the drugs and lifestyle have just phased him over more to the left.

Think about it, if all you had to do in life was sing, play guitar, smoke pot, drink booze, eat, shit and get laid, would you really put a great deal of thought into reality.

When thinking of Willie just remember:

What can not be remedied, must be endured.

Willie - The movie was Barbarosa and also starred a very young Gary Busey. I agree it was an excellent movie.
