Dear Nanette

To:Nancy Peloti
From: Barbra Streisand

Dear Nanette:

Girlfriend, you are the best! Woo hoo! You are now going to be Speaker of the Senate. The country is saved! I can hardly wait for you to turn the country around. I'm sure you have already decided on what you are going to do, but I have some suggestions.

1. Impeach Bush! He lied. People died! He is the worst president this country has ever had.

2. Bring our toops home from Iran. They should have never gone there in the first place. Salmon Hussein wasn't doing us any harm.

3. Raise taxes. We rich do not pay our fair share. I've told my tax accountant to make sure I always pay my fair share of taxes and he assures me that I do.

4. Ratify the Coyote Treaty to prevent global warming.

5. Outlaw SUV's (except for some of us important people who need them for our bodyguards.)

6. Ban guns (except for important people's bodyguards)

7. Amnesty for all of the Mexicans in our country. I really want my housekeepers and gardeners to be legal.

8. Raise the minimum wage to $10 an hour. We have too many poor and homeless people and that will fix the problem.

9. Raise taxes on those evil oil companies.

10. Fund embrionic stem cell research so Michael M. Fox will stop shaking and Christopher Reeve can get out of his chair and walk.

11. Try Remsfield for war crimes.

That's just a beginning. There are many more things that we should do now that we're in power.

Have you picked out the drapes for your new office yet. I'd be happy to help you with that.

Luv ya,
Babs

No thinking person listens to celebrities. We all know they\\\'re full of shit.

dino999.....

You are right, no thinking person listen`s to celebrities, but therein lies the problem as the average American voter is more then "not thinking", they are ignorant. The election proved that. The survival of a free democratic system requires thinking people who are active in the political process & know what is required.

It is one thing to be angered with the lack of action by the president & it is ok to send a message. There is a differance between a message & the destruction of the operational structure for the party, then to allow your enemies to control your country & bring known enemies of the constitutional republic we have to leadership positions knowing they intend to paralyze it`s ability to function for the next two years.

Yes......Thinking person`s do not listen to celebrities but John & Jane Q. Public listened to somebody, be they celebrities, the LSM, or just liberal BS, but it was not with their thinking cap on. We will pay big time for the applied ignorance of the average voter, ultimately so will the world.

I have been around this world a long time , I have always followed & took part in the political process, this election was the absolute most devastating blow to the core of this nation to have occurred in my lifetime. I said it before , I do not think we will recover the lost ground this time. there are too many outside variable`s working against our countries interest`s & time is definately against us.

Dudley- While I do not have as pessimistic a view as you do about the resiliency of this country and the effects this election will have, I do agree the change in power will hurt us tremendously. (we voted into power the party the terrorists backed for Christ’s sake!!!) I also agree that a good many of the people who vote are ignorant of what they are voting on and how the political power play works.

The older I become the more I feel there should be some form of pre-requisite to being able to vote, some sort of test you have to pass. While I haven’t thought all this through and formulated a cohesive list- here are my gut feelings. No ballot should ever be printed in anything other than English (American or ‘Merican as I prefer to call it as proper British English I can hardly understand)- if you cannot speak the language then how can you be a legal voter (you have to have a basic ability to speak and read English to pass the citizenship test), if you are on ‘government assistance’ you shouldn’t be able to vote until you can pay your own way again, if you don’t own property you shouldn’t be able to vote on anything which will raise property taxes, and if you do not know who our present leaders are you shouldn’t be able to vote on who the next ones should be.

I am a registered Republican and I must tell you that I often have to hold my nose with one hand while I vote the party line with the other… but it is a matter of political power. Even so, I am terribly close to jumping over to a third party.

dino999 - Holy crap! We actually agree on sumpin'! Was that a pig I just saw flying by?

Michelle.......

Prerequisite to vote, some kind of test??....while this make`s sense, we cannot even get the ignorant electorate to see the merit of a national voter ID card complete with picture on it. Do you think in your wildest dreams they would ever accept the need to display an ability to comprehend what voting requires in order to actually vote?

I guess the old adage still makes sense....."You can`t make chicken salad out of chicken shit" That is about what the voting process is today as the chickens defecate all over those who do know & care.

Maybe Pelosi will meet in person with Al Queda. Hopefully it will be in a foreign country where they are active. That would be funny to watch. Someone might loose their head, but I am sure that if she talks nice to them, it will go well.

My 14 year old son has been wanting an AK-47 for quite a while. I think Monday is the day for him to get one. I am afraid the days of being able to buy evil looking firearms may be limited.
