Remembrance Day

We call it Veterans Day. Sometimes it's call Armistice Day. It's also called Remembrance Day. Thanks to Bob for the image.

Beautiful image, Denny. Flanders Field is one of my favorite poems, and that is the first thing I thought about when I saw that image. Thanks for putting a post up about Veteran's Day. I sometimes wish that there were a special day, or a special gesture just for spouses and children...I think people, even servucemembers ourselves, overlook the tremendous strain that is on the ones that we leave behind. It was illustrated best when my daughter asked me if I was going to be at her birthday party. (Her fourth, and I missed 2 and 3 because of TDY travel), and when I told her that Daddy wasn't going to be there she said, "Do you like me anymore?" I assured her that Daddy loved her, but aside from feeling like a deadbeat, I wondered what else was going around in that sweet little head of hers. So, what I ask all of you to do is tell the spouse or child of a servicemember "Thank you" if you get the chance. They sacrifice as well. Take care all.

The almost forgotten holiday. Too many people don't want to remember the sacrifice of the few that have kept our nation free. A special thanks to all the veterans out there.

I can relate to all the military as I went on many tours without my daughters and wife. Now I have an ex-wife and daughters that never grew up with me. That is a price one pays by doing his military duty. God bless all of you military and veterans. I just arrived home for a ten hour duty at my VFW post. We had an honorable Veterans Day.

Many of us have gone over and did our duty in war or action one time or another like our fore Fathers did for us. Yet it is forgotten by many who did not and even families who have children it has that wen't. How sad our Country has become and Country who ony thinks of itself for the most part.
Too all those who did I pray for all of them and thank them for giving Me the right too live in peace and all that I have Freedom of speech & religion and all that I and the rest of has.o

Veteran`s remembrance.......

Last week when I purchased my poppy to wear in my lapel at the VFW club I could not help but remember the sacrifice`s made by so many for the so very few who do not take the country we live in for granted.

When I reflect on the result of the election & ask myself how could so many American`s place the dimocratic party in a position of power after being the party of choice of our enemies who recommended we vote them into office, the deep felt resentment I feel for the electorate is a pain that I carry with sorrow.

Shame ,shame, shame.....How could you have been so stupid!
