Immigration Stuff

Ya know that Ann Coulter quote that goes sumpin' like this: Both Republicans and Dimocrats run as conservatives. Republicans sometimes doublecross the voters. Dimocrats always do.

Ben Nelson (Dimocrat, Nebraska) was for getting tough on illegal immigration. He was even to the right of Chuck Hagel (RINO, Nebraska). Now that he's safe for the next six years let's see if he doublecrosses the voters.

Looks like will. Squidley was right to fear a Dimocrat House.

Democrats will look again at the legislation mandating 698 miles of fencing along the U.S.-Mexico border and might seek to scrap the plan altogether when they take control of Congress next year.

Fence, we hardly knew you. I wonder how many of the Dims who ran this year ran on being tough on illegal immigration? I wonder how many of them will doublecross the voters?

Rep. Bennie Thompson, Mississippi Democrat, told reporters this week that he expected to "revisit" the issue when he becomes chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee in the 110th Congress. Mr. Thompson said the Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) new border enforcement program, known as the Secure Border Initiative or SBI Net -- which includes monitors, cameras and other integrated surveillance systems -- is a viable alternative to fencing.

Dear American people:
Fuck you!
Signed: The Dimocrat Party

Yeah, the Republicans sucked, but at least the Republican controlled House was for enforcement over amnesty.

Hello amnesty. Goodbye any chance of secure borders. Let's hear it for the further Mexification of the Southwest.

At least the county I used to live in, Cherokee County, has decided to address the immigration problem

Coach TC beat me to commentary on this and told me I needed to get up earlier.

In what is believed to be the first crackdown of its kind in the state, Cherokee County is considering fining property owners who rent housing to illegal immigrants.

Under the proposal, property owners would have to prove that their tenants live in the country legally. If not, individual landlords could be fined —- and larger apartment complexes risk having their business licenses suspended.

Works for me.

The measure comes at a time when opinion polls show most Americans want immigration reform —- yet the president and Congress are still grappling with the issue.

Grappling with the issue? WTF? Now that the Dims control Congress how long do you think it will take before we have an amnesty program? Grappling with the issue? Here comes the doublecross. Hope you're happy America. Knife, meet back. Chimpy McHaliburton RINO is gonna love working with the House Dims rather than the House Republicans.

"Come here the right way and be welcomed with open arms," said Cherokee County Commissioner Derek Good. "Come the wrong way, and frankly, it's not going to be so comfortable."

They'll just move next door to Bartow County or to Cobb County.

"That is just stupid talk," said George Ledford, who owns two mobile homes in southwest Cherokee. Though Ledford says he asks for U.S. identification from his renters, he believes immigration is a federal issue, not a local one.

Hey George, the Feds ain't doing anything about it. That's why it's starting to be addressed at the local level.

What do the illegals have to say?

"If they don't rent to us, where are we going to live?" said Miguel Rodriguez, who came to Cherokee from Zacatecas, Mexico, and was trying to find work Tuesday on a street corner as a day laborer.

Why not Mexico? You're here illegally, Miguel. Geez! If the Atlanta Urinal and Constipation can find an illegal you would think the INS could. Actually they can, but politicians (and I'm talking about our Georgia politicians, and that includes Saxby Chambliss) give them a ration of bullshit when they try. Someone's got to pick the onions, mow the lawns, clean the houses, and all the other jobs that "Americans won't do".

Yeah. Keep telling us that. Dims want more people to vote for them and the Republicans want cheap labor. And the American people? We get screwed.

Actually, I think that the Democrats are in a bind on this issue. The liberal wing wants all the illegals that can settle here, while the trade unions resent the illegals coming and taking jobs.

Both parties have screwed up on illegal immigration.

Farmers Branch, Texas did this 11/14/06:

Opponents of illegal immigration cheered when the council voted unanimously to pass ordinances that will:

Require city officials to conduct nearly all official business in English.

Prohibit landlords from renting apartments to people who cannot prove their citizenship or legal status.

Have city police enter into a cooperative agreement with federal immigration officials to target "criminal aliens."

And MALDEF, LULAC, and probably ACLU will fight it.

"And the American people? We get screwed."

The INS coudn't find ILLEGALS in Rancho Bernardo, much less tomatoes in Carlsbad!! It's a fucking joke, except in this case, it's not funny.

If you are in the SDPD, the ILLEGALS have you by the short-hairs, and they will laugh at you and yours until the anchor babies take over!

"And the American people? We get screwed."

I, for one, am sick of it..

Wake Up America!!!

Of course they have to revisit the issue. Didn't you folks here what the Pope said the other day? A US/Mexican fence was inhumane. And when a religious icon speaks, the Dims listen (go figure?!).

Our border is a joke. Might as well put welcome centers with green cards and drivers licenses every mile.

Just the fact that George Ledford considers it a "Federal Issue" shows what most people view the government as. Big Brother who needs to take care of us. Bullshit. It might BE a federal issue, but it should be an issue for every single town, county, and state to fix first, then the feds will follow along after we have fixed the damn problem.
