Trent Lott?

Trent Lott? WTF? Trent Conciliatory Lott? Trent "I can make a deal with the Dims" Lott?

The Republicans just lost the Senate and they decide to give Trent Lott the job of minority whip.

Sen. Trent Lott, ousted from the top Senate Republican leadership job four years ago because of remarks considered racially insensitive, won election to the No. 2 post Wednesday for the minority GOP in the next Congress.

I don't give a crap about him being "racially insensitive". After all, Prosper thinks I'm a racist. And it's not like Trent Lott said "nigger" on national TV like Robert Kleagle Byrd did. I'm against him because he's a wimp. He proved when he was majority leader that he didn't have the balls to stand up to the Dimocrats. He didn't do it then and he won't do it now.

Wait a minute! Maybe there was a typo in the story. Maybe the Republicans gave him the job of minority wimp. Yeah. That must be it.

I guess the Republicans have decided that they prefer to be in the minority in the Senate.

Update:This guy says it better with less words.

Trent Lott has won the number two job among Republicans in the Senate! Whoopee! If there’s one message that the electorate sent the Republican Party last week, it’s that we hadn’t given them enough of Trent Lott. I cannot adequately express my delight that Senate Republicans have moved with such expediency to right this egregious wrong.

Is it just me, or is it becoming increasingly apparent that the Republicans and Democrats are determined to engage in a two year dumb-off? If it weren’t for the fact that there are some very determined lunatics out there trying to kill us, this would be funny.

But they are out there, so it isn’t.

Actually, the job of the whip is to keep the other senators in line and stick to the GOP's positions on various bills.
That was difficult when they were in the majority. Now that they're the minority, they'll be more likely to stick together to fight of the libs, especially now that most of the bills will be undoing what the GOP-controlled congress did in the past 12 years or so. I hope.

Proverbs 13:20, He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.

If we would refuse to support fools in high place we might stand a small chance of not being destroyed.

It appears that Lott's only 'sin' was being honest.

On the other hand (aside from having 5 fingers), Didn't Lot's wife have to pay for a sin or two?

It seems to me that the next two years are going to be fun indeed as we see if there is any 'moral high-ground' left available to our esteemed Leadership.

Lott couldn't get his railway to the casinos payed for by the tax payers because of pressure from Republicans. Watch him cuddle up to Reid. Two crooks if I've ever seen one.

At first I rejoiced that they had put Lott there. Then I had to pause and wonder about this.
The Republicans allowed him to be neutered by the Dims in the past.
Lot should be concerned that they have put him on a limb and will allow it to be cut out from under him.
Blessings
