John Williams. OMFG!
Now check out the kid. Not bad either. I only caught one mistake. He also had a few twangs, but he has smaller hands and it's harder for him to stretch. Give him a few more years and some growth.
Posted by denny at December 2, 2006 12:43 PMHey Sue Fucking Creesto
Ya think Williams ever practiced?
Posted by: Willie on December 2, 2006 03:00 PMThank you. John Williams is my absolute favorite. I loved the CD he made in the courtyard of the Escorial palace chapel in Spain. Gorgeous!! He has forgotten more about playing the guitar than most of the greats ever knew!!
Posted by: dick on December 2, 2006 03:18 PMBeautiful. Just one of the many things that will be illegal under the new Caliphate.
Posted by: Nastimann on December 2, 2006 05:30 PMNo apologies necessary for that little kid. I could tell he was getting a little tired there at the end, but if I could do *anything* as well as that, my life would be complete.
Well, I bet I can sleep until noon better than he can!
Posted by: Nastimann on December 2, 2006 05:38 PMDamm! I'll bet John Williams can't do that after about 15 beers like you can.
Posted by: Yabu on December 2, 2006 06:17 PMDamn those reading glasses...never tpye without them.
Talk about favorites.
One of mine is Chris Broderick.
Check him out.....classical, jazz and rock.
Posted by: Willie on December 2, 2006 11:28 PMYeah, but can either of them play a twelve-bar blues? [KIDDING! KIDDING!]
Simply amazing -- both of them. As for the young fellow, I have a feeling that classical guitar teachers don't grow on trees in Japan. Amazing.
Posted by: Jim - PRS on December 3, 2006 12:43 AMCheck out John Williams with John Dankworth and Cleo Laine on jazz. He can do that too!!
Posted by: dick on December 3, 2006 01:26 AMI listened to the kid first - wow! - then J.W., who is just plumb unreal, and couldn't help but wondering what the kid will sound like in 35 or 40 years. I think those of us who haven't had the pleasure of seeing/hearing Denny playing (especially after a few brewskis?) would greatly appreciate the opportunity. What do you guys n gals say who have had the pleasure?
Posted by: DrChappy on December 3, 2006 10:11 AMI have had the pleasure on several occasions, and a pleasure it is. In addition to being a great picker and singer, Denny is also the kazoomeister.
Posted by: Jim - PRS on December 3, 2006 02:40 PMJohn Williams also plays rock...

Posted by: Bob Plyler on December 3, 2006 02:56 PMDr. Chappy - When I play at blodgemeets, everyone has had a few brewskis (or Chatham Artillery Punch), and that makes me sound better. My motto: The more you drink, the better I sound. That also holds true when the Elderly Brothers (Jimbo and I) are playing.
