Off To The Slopes

I have to drag my crippled ass out of bed at 4:00 AM tomorrow to catch a flight to Salt Lake City and from there to Aspen for a week of skiing at Snowmass. I just got my hits up to a reasonable amount again and now I'm gonna be off the air until next Sunday. That's providing I survive all of the spectacular falls I am famous for.

See y'all next Sunday!

Have a great trip! I shall try to stop by daily so you don't feel neglected. *grin*

Have a good one. Lets go Giants today.

Go to it Denny! Have a blast and we'll see you here when you get back.

Have fun, old man. I want your lifestyle.

Cool Runnings...

Have a great time in Snowmass. I'd say break a leg, but the odds of you finding someone who needs their leg broke are slim, let alone the odds of you being able to plow them over. With luck, John Forgery Kerry will decide to hit the slopes and you can run him into a tree, but alas, I'm dreaming too hard for that to happen.
I enjoyed my time in Naw'leans. We worked on two houses, one in the ninth ward. Both belonged to elderly black women. Salvation army donates materials for these projects.
We toured the destruction, and were debating on what was storm damage and what was natural. Many of the govmt housing projects are destined for dozing. The ones I feel for are the poor who owned their home and lost a life time to the waters. Nagin let them down big time. He, like most dem politico's only care about the poor at election time.

Well, watch out where the huskies go, and don't you eat that yellow snow!

Posted by: El Capitan on January 8, 2007 11:41 AM

Denny,

Have a wonderful time skiing, drinking, hanging out in front of a roaring fire, drinking, eating. Did I mention drinking? Too much drinking goes really badly with the altitude.

Enjoy!

But on a selfish note, this is one of my favorite blog sites. What, they don't have computers on Colorado? Why can't you continue to blog (at least a little) from there?

O.K., nevermind........give those slopes hell.

Posted by: Willie on January 8, 2007 12:41 PM

I've seen pictures of crip skiing. It ain't skiining if you're sitting and riding a modified sled down the slopes. I'm not going to be all politically correct and call that skiing.

Posted by: Cal on January 8, 2007 01:58 PM

Fuck you Cal! You give everyone else with that name a bad rap you fuckin' cock-sucking troll!

Posted by: CharlieDelta on January 8, 2007 03:26 PM

Hope you are having a wonderful time; I'm inclined to enjoy more warm weather recreation myself! *S*

Posted by: Michele on January 8, 2007 05:31 PM

hope you're enjoying the snow!

Posted by: caltechgirl on January 8, 2007 08:24 PM

Have fun!!!
I'm sure I'll be suffering from GOC withdrawls while you're gone.

Posted by: Michelle on January 9, 2007 06:17 AM

Cal.......

WTF!!!! For crying out loud, get a life already & quit picking on Denny`s vacation. Hell, I`ll bet you even go down to the department store before Christmas & tell the little kids there ain`t no Santa Claus.

Posted by: dudley1 on January 9, 2007 01:41 PM

Joke of the day.......

Two Frenchmen got into a fistfight in a little town outside Paris. The newsworthy point is not the fight itself but that there were actually (2) Frenchmen in France willing to fight & that they were close enough to each other to actually do more then talk about it.

Posted by: dudley1 on January 9, 2007 01:47 PM

Hey Cal you jerk-off,

If I lost the use of my legs I doubt I would have the tenacity to even bother to go skiing.

Hell, I go only occasionally now.

Politcally correct isn't the issue, having 1/2 a brain and a little admiration for challenged people who challenge themselves might be in order.

When is the last time you challenged yourself at anything (masterbation doesn't count)?

Next trip, want to see Denny flying from a plane ----- skydive.

Posted by: Willie on January 9, 2007 04:58 PM

I'm sure Denny won't even bat an eye at that comment. He'll probably just turn Cal into an AOTW and make him piss his pants from mortal embarrassment.

(Which reminds me, Denny, did you see It's a Wonderful Life yet? It's about some dude who wished he'd never been born and sorta kinda got his wish...you gotta see it.)

Cal
A belated fuck off from the Pacific Northwest.
Crawl back on mommies lap and resume feeding you insignificant piece of shit.
Mr Wilson
You gotta get Saturday treats handled. Must be some tasty stuff in Colorado.
Have fun.

Posted by: ChuckS on January 10, 2007 07:22 PM

Don't get me wrong. I hope Denny enjoys his crip sledding. I'm just not going to be politically correct and call that sledding "skiing". Am I supposed to call it "skiing" because he's "challenged" so that I don't hurt his feelings? That is pointy-headed liberal bleeding heart bullshit. I thought this site and the people on it didn't like that mushy liberal crap. Let's be consistent. Let's not be hypocrites. Denny went to sit on a sled. He ain't skiing.

Posted by: Cal on January 11, 2007 10:36 AM

Cal,

Did you know that Denny can walk? Search his site, and you can find more info about the exact nature of his disabilty.

Having said that, I don't know what he does when he skis. I'm sure he'll let us know when he gets back.

Posted by: Squidley on January 11, 2007 11:21 AM

Denny,

Here's a rigorous, intelligent disposal of your favorite Georgian, Jimmah. The writer exposes Jimmah's warping of reality and egomania, and shows how Jimmah's latest round of anti-Semitism has so tarnished him as to make him unworthy of any public notice.

Which, of course, he has been for a very long time. It's only now, that he has been foolish enough to openly advocate the continued killing of Israelis, that this should be clear to more people.

Happy ranting!

Posted by: Squidley on January 11, 2007 11:35 AM

And while I'm at it...

Here's an article about Nawlins you'll love: Ray "Incompentent Racist Fool" Nagin has a spate of murders to deal with: nine dead in ten days. Nagin admitted that it was easier to commit murder than any other crime there.

Imagine that!

Posted by: Squidley on January 11, 2007 12:19 PM

Chuck S: I am sure Denny will bring you back something from his vacation! We have snow too, right now, but it is not the nice kind you can play in. So we'll just be hanging out here with Saddam's cat until Denny gets home.

Posted by: Peggy U on January 11, 2007 01:04 PM

Please explain why you would go to CO to ski if you can get off an airplane in SLC and be on a lift in just about 1 hour from the airport.

We've got skiing here in UT that will wear you out just fine!

Posted by: Nate on January 11, 2007 05:12 PM

Nate,
The get together at Aspen is for people who are crippled. They have trained attendants to help some of the worse cases. Its all part of helping them adjust to being crippled, or an amputee.

Posted by: Jeremy on January 11, 2007 11:31 PM

Geez, what a load of sheeyot he's gonna have to wade through when he gets back and reads all this.

Jeffrey Goldberg reviewed the book for the Washington Post, and concluded:

"In a short chapter on the Clinton years, Carter blames the Israelis for the failures at Camp David. But I put more stock in the views of the president who was there than in those of the president who wasn't. "On the ninth day, I gave Arafat my best shot again," Clinton writes in My Life. "Again he said no. Israel had gone much further than he had, and he wouldn't even embrace their moves as the basis for future negotiations." Clinton applied himself heroically over the next six months to extract even better offers from Israel, all of which Arafat wouldn't accept. "I still didn't believe Arafat would make such a colossal mistake," Clinton remembers, with regret. According to Carter, however, Arafat made no mistakes. The failure was Israel's -- and by extension, Clinton's.

"Carter succeeded at his Camp David summit in 1978, while Clinton failed at his in 2000. But Clinton's achievement was in some ways greater because he did something no American president has done before (or since): He won the trust of both the Palestinians and the Israelis. He could do this because he seemed to believe that neither side was wholly villainous nor wholly innocent. He saw the Israeli-Palestinian crisis for what it is: a tragic collision between right and right, a story of two peoples who both deserved his sympathy. In other words, he took the Christian approach to making peace. " - Jeffrey Goldberg

Regardless where one places Bill Clinton in a ranking of U. S. Presidents (I'd say, near the bottom) it is likely that history's judgment will place Jimmy Carter much closer to dead last.

Cal - I suggest you do some research on monoskiing. Got news for you buddy, it ain't a sled. Why don't you go to Colorado and get in a monoski rig and try it out? I go down the hill sitting on one ski.

Nate - The skiing is better in Colorado. The mountains are higher, the runs are longer, and there is more snow. I'm attending a camp for crip skiing runned by Challenge Aspen. These guys are awesome.

Kudzu,

The first part of the quote you provided is great. The second part show the fundamental fallacy of the whole "peace" process:

[Clinton] saw the Israeli-Palestinian crisis for what it is: a tragic collision between right and right, a story of two peoples who both deserved his sympathy...

While I'm sure that's how Clinton saw it, it is a flawed view. It is not a collision between "right and right." It is a collision between Israel, a democratic country with a free society, and Moslem Arabs, whose countries range from dictatorship to despotism, and who refuse to even acknowledge the right of Israel to exist. In other words, it is a collision between right and wrong.

Contrary to the propaganda that the MSM feeds us, the provocation is one-sided: Moslems attack Israelis, who then retaliate. Furthermore, there is no such thing as a "disproportionate" response. If someone attacks you, that is an act of war. The way to win a war is to destroy the enemy's ability and will to fight. The Israelis are not only justified in using their superior force against the "Palestinians," that's exactly what they should do.

Various "causes" have been cited for the conflict, but this is what it boils down to: It was the Jews' land long before Islam even existed. All Moslem claims to any land as "theirs" because they once occupied it is irredentist, revanchist nonsense.

I put "Palestinian" in quotes because the idea of "Palestinians" was created in the early 70s (IIRC). The surrounding Arab/Moslems countries could solve the "Palestinian" problem by simply admitting the Arab refugees, but then they would lose a weapon to attack Israel with.

P.S.: Kudzu, I'm not attacking you; I'm attacking Jeffrey Goldberg and Clinton, among others.

For Jimmah not to address the Hezbollah sitiuation and to side with them against Israel shows the ultimate in political stupidity. The roots of Hezbollah were based in the same student uprising that ended the moron's presidency in the first place. The thugs in Tehran (including their wack-job leader Mahmoud Ahmadinejad) that held our citizens hostage in 1979-1981 spawned Hezbollah to begin with. He is the one who led the students, I don't give a damn what wikipedia or Carter thinks. And he has been funneling money, arms, and weapons technology to Hezbollah from 1979 to right now. Not to mention that the blood of 299 American marines and sailors is on the hands of Hezbollah who bombed the marine barracks in Beirut in 1983. Jimmy Carter is a prime example of the ignorance, apathy, and anti-semitism that has allowed Hezbollah to thrive in the first place. FUCK Hezbollah, and FUCK Jimmy Carter.

Holy crap! WTF? How did we get from my ski trip to Jimmah Carter?

Posted by: Denny on January 12, 2007 08:57 PM

That's my fault, Denny. Without your regular posts, I was starving for content! So, in these comments, I posted a couple of things for you to rant about when you got back, including a link to a wonderful expose of Jimmah's anti-Semitism.

Posted by: Squidley on January 12, 2007 10:06 PM

Sorry. Enjoy your trip. We will slap jimmah when you get home.

Posted by: vetfromhell on January 13, 2007 01:05 AM

Denny,
You need to thank Squidley and VFH for their guest writing while you were gone. Be honest, they did pick one of your favorite bitches to slap, so don't get possessive. There is enough of peanut brain for everyone to slap. Hell there is too darn much of him.
