An Inconvenient Truth

Algore, like the typical liberal he is, is on a crusade against manmade global warming. Is he leading this crusade by example? No! Why am I not surprised. After all, the businesses that Nancy Pelosi and her husband run are all nonunion. I'll bet she's an energy hog as well.

Last night, Al Gore’s global-warming documentary, An Inconvenient Truth, collected an Oscar for best documentary feature, but the Tennessee Center for Policy Research has found that Gore deserves a gold statue for hypocrisy.

The Oscars? They were last night? Golly! I missed them again. Anything important happen?

Gore’s mansion, located in the posh Belle Meade area of Nashville, consumes more electricity every month than the average American household uses in an entire year, according to the Nashville Electric Service (NES).

No shit? Algore? Doesn't he care about the planet? We're supposed to take him seriously when he contributes so much to global warmimg?

In his documentary, the former Vice President calls on Americans to conserve energy by reducing electricity consumption at home.

Rules for thee, but not me. Typical liberal hypocrite. Think of all the energy consumed by the typical Hollywood star in his or her mansion, but then they're the elite. It's only we commoners who are supposed to sacrifice to the religion of global warming.

The average household in America consumes 10,656 kilowatt-hours (kWh) per year, according to the Department of Energy. In 2006, Gore devoured nearly 221,000 kWh — more than 20 times the national average.

Holy freaking shit! I bet that's not in his documentary. I also remember during his 2000 campaign they let water out of a lake so he could paddle down a river showing his concern for the environment. Unfortunately, that area of the country was in a drought and could ill afford to lose the water from the lake.

Last August alone, Gore burned through 22,619 kWh — guzzling more than twice the electricity in one month than an average American family uses in an entire year. As a result of his energy consumption, Gore’s average monthly electric bill topped $1,359.

Way to conserve energy Al!

Since the release of An Inconvenient Truth, Gore’s energy consumption has increased from an average of 16,200 kWh per month in 2005, to 18,400 kWh per month in 2006.

Gore’s extravagant energy use does not stop at his electric bill. Natural gas bills for Gore’s mansion and guest house averaged $1,080 per month last year.

I'm shocked! Doesn't Al worry about the environment?

“As the spokesman of choice for the global warming movement, Al Gore has to be willing to walk to walk, not just talk the talk, when it comes to home energy use,” said Tennessee Center for Policy Research President Drew Johnson.

No he doesn't. He's a liberal. They don't have to live by the rules like the rest of us do.

In total, Gore paid nearly $30,000 in combined electricity and natural gas bills for his Nashville estate in 2006.

Here's an inconvenient truth: Algore is a hypocrite. Maybe I would take global warming seriously (No I wouldn't) if he did. Here's another inconvenient truth: The LSM won't call him on it.

Did you hear that the Western Whitehouse is more energy efficient than Algore's house?

http://www.sojo.net/index.cfm?action=magazine.article&issue=soj0107&article=010722

But of course since this was a story on Rush's show it is nothing but propaganda. Algore is a saint and Bush is Hitler blah blah blah.

Posted by: kerrcarto on February 27, 2007 02:32 PM

I didn't realize you had to register to view the article but here is the jist of it.

The Bush ranch house in Crawford, Texas, balances beauty with state-of-the-art energy efficiency. Designed by Austin environmental architect David Heymann, and built by members of a religious community from nearby Elm Mott, George W. and Laura Bush's dream home is built of a BTU-efficient, honey-toned native limestone quarried from the nearby Edwards Limestone Formation.

The passive-solar house is positioned to absorb winter sunlight, warming the interior walkways and walls. Underground water, which remains a constant 55 degrees year-round, is piped through a heat exchange system that keeps the interior warm in winter and cool in summer. A graywater reclamation system treats and reuses waste water. Rain gutters feed a cistern hooked to a sprinkler system for watering the fruit orchard and grass. Clearly, Bush goes home from the White House to a green house.

Folks, Folks, Folks, don't you know all you have to do if you use this much energy is buy, yes buy, carbon credits. This was a topic being discussed over at hot air. It seems that whenver Algore uses a tremendous amount of energy resources, like cruising around in a jet and driving in a stretch limo, he gets forgiveness and doesn't feel guilty because he "bought" (aka. another tax) carbon offset credits. WTF is wrong with these idiots. Basically it's ok to pollute and use resources as long as you pay for it. Yup, another liberal panzi scheme that will make SS look like a real good investment.

Posted by: Ray on February 27, 2007 04:13 PM

You guys are missing the obvious!

Algore invented the internet. It's in his basement. It takes a lot of juice to run the internet.

Posted by: Mike on February 27, 2007 04:53 PM

I bet these folks will keep the memorial warm:

YOU ASKED FOR IT!

Folks, we thought that “A Gathering of Eagles” would be a relatively modest undertaking, with maybe a couple thousand patriots gathering with the sole purpose of defending The Wall against the depredations of the America-hating A.N.S.W.E.R. crowd.

Well, there’s good news! We are now looking at TENS OF THOUSANDS of Americans who will not only be guarding The Wall but showing Jane Fonda and Cindy Sheehan that they will not control Washington, DC, on March 17th.

The response to the announcement of our counter-protest has been nothing short of phenomenal. If you don’t believe us, just scroll through the website and look at “State Info” and “Volunteer Info” (under “Sections” on the right side of the homepage) and “Logistics” under “Article Topics,” which is just below “Sections.”

You’ll see what we’re dealing with here. What you don’t see are the additional expenses that we’re incurring in making this thing happen. Just for starters, the National Park Service told us that we should plan on having one porta-potty for each 300 Eagles! While we think that’s a little excessive, it is clear that we will be spending several thousand dollars to furnish enough for our use. We also have to provide medical emergency services and insurance, which will cost thousands more.

And that isn’t all. Since so many Eagles are coming, we are forced to do a bit more than provide “milling-around space.” Now we are going to have a full-fledged rally, with platform, sound system, and decorations. That will run several thousand dollars more.

We can tell you that we need around $25,000.00 to pull this one off properly. We can also tell you that folks are already sending unsolicited gifts, and we now have over $3,000.00 in the bank. That’s a great start, and we thank those who have already contributed.

The GOE co-chairs have loaned the Gathering $10,000.00. Please don’t make us “eat” that investment!

Should we have funds left over post-Gathering, we will donate them to charitable organizations, especially those that benefit vets returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.

Time is short, and our needs are long. We’ve undertaken this event on faith, and we need all of you to help us. PLEASE send a contribution by PayPal or credit card (at the Gathering of Eagles website: http://www.gatheringofeagles.org/ ) or by check payable to “Gathering of Eagles” and mailed to “Gathering of Eagles” at Box 291; Chocowinity, NC 27817.

PLEASE HELP! This may well be the most important pro-troop rally in our country’s history, and we humbly ask that you help us make it the biggest!

Many thanks. We hope to see you on March 17th!

Eagles Up!

The Departed won Best Picture. Martin Scorcese Best Director. At least the best film and best director won. A first for Mr. Scorcese. Goodfellas was shot down, as was Casino, and Gangs Of New York. Hollywood finally got it right. They actually did'nt push too many agendas on the audience, and the whole program was very entertaining and enjoyable. As for Al Gore I went to take a piss while An Inconvenient Truth won. So I missed it. If you don't like it don't watch/read/patronize/support it. Congratulations to Martin Scorcese.

I'd like to sell my carbon offset credits. if anyone is interested I'd take 25.00 cash or I'll trade them for a 12 pack of suds and a bag of fritos ... On second thought I think I'll put them on ebay tonight and see if I have any takers if ya want to bid on them They will be listed under carbon offset credits and I'll donate the money to the eagles ............Darrell

The Inconvenient Truth is that Al Gore is so full of shit he's turned into a blimp.

Posted by: Ralph Gizzip on February 27, 2007 09:01 PM

What's all this talk about Global Whoring. That's disgusting. If you want to go whoring you should do it locally. Why spend your hard earned money in some godforsaken forign whorehouse. It is disgraceful that you don't keep the economic benifits of whoring in your own local economy! "What?" "Warming" Oh! Never mind.

Posted by: Roger on February 27, 2007 09:26 PM

You want to hear my Inconvenient Truth? Daley just got re-elected in Chicago.

Al Gore has nothing to complain about.

Wonderful article over at Drudge at how the UN is now suggesting a global carbon tax for those that pollute. Who'd of thunk it huh? Wonder where the money goes after it's paid?!

Posted by: Ray on February 28, 2007 07:51 AM

Denny,
You're a hypocrite as well. I'll bet your wheel chair is either electric, or hand powered.
LOL, love ya man. Keep slamming Gore. I nominate him for asshole of the milenium

Posted by: Jeremy on February 28, 2007 08:56 AM

I don't recall for sure, but isn't Gore on the TVA (Tennessee Valley Authority) grid? That's 'nucular' 'lectricity!

I'm surprised he allows that radioactive electricity into his house. He should put up a bunch of windmills in his front yard instead.

Posted by: Jon on February 28, 2007 09:30 AM

Hypocracy is nothing new for Owl Gore. Remember the tape of him bragging to tobacco farmers farmers about being one of them and how he had "sold it, picked it, shucked it, stemmed it" etc., etc.? The tape came out right after he was on stage at the DNC convention campaigning about the evils of tobacco that killed his sister who died of lung cancer several years before the bragging about being a tobacco grower. Then of course there was the time he said he knew about the high price of standing up for the rights of blacks because his father lost his seat in the Senate for his courage. Turns out that daddy actually voted AGAINST both the Civil Rights Act and the Voting Rights Act. Oh, and did I mention the multi-million dollar federal grant the he arranged for a new statue in Forrest Park of General Nathan Bedford Forrest, the founder of the KKK?

Posted by: Ric on February 28, 2007 09:41 AM

I just added up my electric bill. I have an all-electric house; heating, cooking and hot water. I used 13,400 kWh last year.

I've got carbon credits to sell, too. I need a new paint job for the house. Only $29.95 apiece.

What hypocrites.

Actually, Jeremy, Denny's wheels are powered by a miniature fusion reactor. Sup!!!!

Algore, The Penultimate Limouzine Liberal.

Carbon offset credits are a scam. These elitist liberals are trying to convince us that they are not contributing to global warming because they are paying someone else not to pollute at some offsetting contribution rate. The hell? If the goal is to reverse or halt global warming by consuming less fossil fuels, then wouldn't the tactic be to actually reduce our "carbon footprints", and not simply offset them? An offset's net effect = 0. Nothing has changed. My God, this is so fucking stupid. What am I missing here?

Algore: "I'm gonna build a big fucking house with 20 bedrooms and eight fucking bathrooms. Damn! I'm gonna pay someone else not to build 20 bedrooms with eight fucking bathrooms. That'll save the planet, and I'll have my big ass house."

Posted by: Paul on February 28, 2007 10:46 AM

Animal Farm...............

Groupthink.

Probably around us all the time but this is the first time it is so blantantly obvious.

How soon before our "Great Leader" espouses and agrees with this ultimate horseshit?

Al Gore. You have to hand it to him. He created another first. First snake oil salesment to go global.

Posted by: Willie on February 28, 2007 10:59 AM

There is no man-made global warming, so Algore isn't contributing to it either. He's just an idiot that wants to use the issue as a power tool like every other global warming nazi.
The Global Warming Theory is like watching the growth spert of my 9 year old daughter for a couple of months and saying "Holey Shit! at this rate she'll be 80 ft. tall by the time she's 50!"
We havn't been around long enough to estimate such things as global climate change.
The Earth's orbit is not perfectly circular and the Sun pulsates with energy. It's as simple as that.

Any of you guys going to The Gathering of the Eagles? I am giving serious considerations to going and most likely I will. I was wodering if any of you guys local to Alabama (to include neighboring states) that are interested in participating would be interested in going in a group?

I was a Screaming Eagle for four years and spent my two combat tours with the 101st so I was thinking of going in my class A's. Anyone else?

You are right most of them are. It's just the left that far exceeds tolerable levels. I am a Conservative Independant and most of my votes go to the Republicans because they largely support ideas based on fact, family, and freedom and at least seek a balance to these. Liberals want absolute freedom only for those who agree with them and facts and families are as unfamiliar terms to them as the smell they are accustomed to from having lived with their heads up their asses. I believe if their is a scientifically proveable global warming then the prime cause will likely be found from the stored up methane liberals release for the brief moment they remove their heads from said asses to spew some bull shit on the American public.

To Mr. Lumpkin. I'm in 1/33 Cavalry. Rakkasans. Like I said RAKKASAN motha-fucka! Lets Go Mets!

Posted by: SSG Dave Wallach on February 28, 2007 01:25 PM

Really? I served with the Rakkasans in Afghanistan under Col. Lenington when I was a SPC. I enjoyed the Rakkasan/5-0-deuce disputes that went on during PLDC after we got home from OIF. Infantry guys are hilarious even when picking on pogues such as myself. It's all in good fun. So, how is life under Col Steele? I PCS'd to Korea shortly after he arrived and have heard some crazy stories since.

Algore the green party hero......

Your political cartoon of 2/25/07 of a liberal blogger is really Algore totaling up his utility bills.............What a loser he be.

Probably praying Jimmmah croaks soon so he can claim the title of most useless traitorous bastard in the dimocratic party.

He talks like people type, he's a big fat windbag Jimmah Carter wanna be...

Jonathan Lumpkin....

OK, Ive cut down the trees in my front yard, pulled the schrubs & as soon as the weather breaks the yard will be cemented........wow! it feels cooler already. It is a small sacrifice to make to reverse global warming.

When does Algore`s next movie promoting a new campaign to deforest the world , limit park areas & abolish golf courses hit the movie theaters? He is playing on our fears just like he accused Bush, but now we can make a positive impact to reduce global warming...,.get off the couch, buy a chain saw & head for the nearest forest, be pro-active, make a differance.

Posted by: dudley1 on March 1, 2007 12:00 PM

Most people call me either by my last name or the more effectionate "Lumpy" so I will be posting under this title in the future. It's really wierd being called by my whole name. ;)

dudley1: You forgot to mention that if you use chainsaws you need to buy a carbon offset. Can't be saving the environment by removing those wicked polluting shade trees with gas guzzling chainsaws unless you buy one now can you?

Posted by: Lumpy on March 1, 2007 01:27 PM

Lumpy......

Environment needs all the help it can get ASAP, can`t wait for solar powered chainsaws.......besides, do not need any carbon offset as I have 1/2 ton of anthracite (hard) coal left from old furnace in barn.I have all the carbon I`ll ever need.

Posted by: dudley1 on March 2, 2007 09:32 AM

Solar powered chain saw = solar powered tree removal = take a magnifying glass and start a fire. works for me, and doesn't require fuel.
But Dudley, I tried a diffrent approach, I just tried to make the plants grow, and my natural brown thumb did the rest.
