Oh baby. Sweet.
Wonder how much I'd have to beef up the dodge to handle those. Give new meaning to the words "Road Rage".

Good Lord!
In Afghanistan a 160th CH-47E door gunner practically sawed the front end off a fleeing Toyota Hilux with just one of these things!

Anyone care to calculate the rounds per min this trio puts out?

If I had that rig as the tail gun in my Ram 1500, I'd be squeezing off clearing rounds all the time just for the extra thrust. Gotta make up for that lost mileage due to ethanol blends somehow. The anti-tailgating effect would be a pleasant side-effect.

Fuckin' A! How would I go about mounting one of those in the back of my truck? Any good iron workers out there??

Oh yeah, it's Kalifornia. Nevermind.

One for the tech heads or Air Force gunners:
Why are the top set of barrels fitted with flash suppressors, when the lower pair are not?

It would make sense to fit all the barrels, or none of them, but just the top six is a little strange to my way of thinking.

Then again, I was only a leg grunt.

12-18 THOUSAND rounds per minute, at $0.50 per shot, that will be $450,000 per hour to shoot the thing.
The flash hiderrs may just be for show.

The flash hiders on the top are because the gunner is looking over the top and needs to see more than just a flash. The lower sets are below his range of vision.
I used to have a set of spare barrels in my office at Ramstein. Don't know why they were there, We didn't have a gun to put them in, and I wasn't signed for them. I just had to move them every time I cleaned.

If any wingnuts care to expound, I was in an Army ADA unit, not Air Force.

For such an array of guns, the gunner is remote and not looking over the barrels. You'll notice there are no sights on teh gun or mount.

Each gun fires at variable rates of 2-6,000 rpm, the muzzle flash is a huge ball of flame and pressure wave. The flash hider is probably of more use as a bullet shield against the lower barrels blast.

What movie was this thing made for?
