Elisson who is a SRFİ and is a fellow member of the Guild was there as well and brought a guest, Houston Steve, a prospective member. We had a great time. The food was delicious, and once again, I made it home safe and sound.
Sometimes it's really hard to be me.

Posted by: haha on April 24, 2007 01:19 AMSuch a rough life you lead, but somehow you suffer through it like a trooper!
Posted by: Michele on April 24, 2007 07:18 AMhaha just had a can of tuna in his mom's basement.
Posted by: vetfromhell on April 24, 2007 07:52 AMI'd love to hear your thoughts on these wines. Which would you highly recommend? Which is excellent yet a good buy?
Posted by: almam on April 24, 2007 10:44 AMI feel your pain!
Try to soldier through and, while you're at it, which wine DID you like best?
Posted by: Gayle Miller on April 24, 2007 10:48 AMAnother thing I'd like to know,,,when you do a 'wine tasting' do you actually swallow or do you spit out the wine after rolling it around in your mouth?
Posted by: Michele on April 24, 2007 12:22 PMalman - I don't think I would buy any of them so I did not inquire about prices. Most of these came from members' cellars and as such would probably not be available locally.
Michele - When I go to a Guild function I always swallow. We get 11 people to a bottle so it is about a two ounce pour. We do have dump buckets so we don't have to drain an entire glass if we don't want to. We're there to enjoy good food and wine, not get hammered. Sometimes, we get a corked wine as we did last night. Then the entire glass goes into the dump bucket.
Posted by: Denny on April 24, 2007 01:56 PMcan somebody enlighten me? but, what the hell are 'ramp bulbs'? they look like mexican onions or society garlic. and are they good?
thank you.
Posted by: mark on April 24, 2007 05:54 PMHey Denny, thanks for the referral! Wife's birthday is today, but she's not sure if she's up for MF Sushi, so we may be going to Grace 17|20 instead.
Posted by: Jon on April 25, 2007 07:57 AMGrace was excellent - glad you reconnoitered it for us!
Posted by: Jon on April 25, 2007 03:25 PMJon - We have two to three guild functions a year there. The food is great and the price is reasonable. Barbara runs a real good restaurant. I only live ten minutes away. The downside is we have our functions upstairs so I have to get my crippled ass up and down successfully.
