Tokyo Dims

Poulson sent me this e-mail he received from a friend. I do not know if his friend wrote it or got it elsewhere. I wish I had written it.

The other night we watched a movie called, "Flags of
our Fathers." During the movie, I pointed out the
radio broadcast of "Tokyo Rose."
She had the best music on her station. During World
War II, the Japanese developed a way to demoralize
the American forces. Psychological warfare experts
developed a message they felt would work.

They gave the script to their famous broadcaster
"Tokyo Rose", and every day she would broadcast
this same message packaged in different ways. The
Japanese hoped it would have a negative impact on
American GI's morale.

What was that demoralizing message? It had three
main points:

1. Your President is lying to you.

2. This war is illegal.

3. You cannot win the war.

Does this sound familiar today?

It is because we are being bombarded by Tokyo
Hillary, Tokyo Harry, Tokyo Teddy, Tokyo Nancy,
Tokyo Murtha, etc., and they have picked up the same
message and are broadcasting it on Tokyo CNN,
Tokyo ABC, Tokyo CBS, Tokyo NBC, etc., to our troops.

The only difference is that they claim to support
our troops before they demoralize them.

Come to think of it, Tokyo Rose told the troops she
was on their side, too.

My father used to hear that nip. He shot down 5 flying hellcats in VF1. US should have executed her when they had the chance. They executed US prisoners by score.

Wikipedia is about as credible as Rosie O'Donnell.

Posted by: vetfromhell on April 26, 2007 07:24 PM

Shouldn't that be Baghdad Hillery, Baghdad Bill, Baghdad Teddy, Baghdad Nancy, etc.
Doesn't the oath contain the words "against all enemies, foreign and domestic"? America needs a new hero.

Posted by: Jeremy on April 26, 2007 07:51 PM

Dan - Rather than using Wikipedia, why not a more reliable source.

Posted by: Denny on April 26, 2007 07:57 PM

why dont we have a fvcking najaf nellie, or a tikriti turban girl or something? I've long thought that those controling the war in this country have abdicated the media leverage to al jazera, internet executions, and dan effing rather. it bugs me that we dont replicate tokyo rose. we could plant her ass on an aircraft carrier in the gulf, broadcast her music or mating cats or whatever all over iran and iraq. hell...they could even have the "denny hour" and you could play some bach and deliver enlightenment.

Somebody's got to end this debacle. And George Bush certainly won't. Thank god the Democrats are standing up for the majority of Americans and calling for an end to this pointless waste of a war.

Unfortunately, the surge isn't working and there is no good reason to think that it will. There is a civil war raging throughout that country and violence outside of Baghdad has increased (predictably) since the surge began. Currently, there is widespread violence in eight provinces in Iraq and that is in western, central, eastern and northern Iraq. There is no way that the U.S. can win that country's civil war. And it is a waste to try fight it for them. We're not fighting terrorism there; we're breeding terrorists and losing too many of America's best.

Posted by: Sally on April 26, 2007 09:57 PM

What's that smell?

Posted by: vetfromhell on April 26, 2007 10:17 PM

vetfromhell-
It's the recurring stench that won't go away! The unbelievable stench of liberalism.

Posted by: CharlieDelta on April 26, 2007 10:45 PM

I'm gonna go way out on a limb and steal Sally's last line of her last comment because I simply think it is at least within the bandwidth of resonance for each of us.

"....We're not fighting terrorism there; we're breeding terrorists and losing too many of America's BEST {Case-change mine}".

I think that to be true and I'll not say anymore.

GOOD source you provide ...but it doesn't finish the story! She was not only aquitted and exonerated, she was REMUNERATED!

Posted by: DanS on April 26, 2007 11:15 PM

Socialist Sally is back........

Just as CD & others have said , she surrenders in one thread after another & magically reappears again & again.

I would like GWB to take a strong stance in this war, First step arrest all the traitors & fellow travelers giving aid & comfort to the enemy in DC.....That would leave damn few dimocrats left & a number of turncoat republicans would be gone.

They could hire Socialist Sally to defend them ....Oh yeah, thats when she becomes Surrender Sally.

Posted by: Dudley1 on April 26, 2007 11:17 PM

Sally - The surge has only started. Less than half of the buildup has arrived in country.

You do realize that the Dimocrats are gonna get the blame for losing the war, right?

Posted by: Denny on April 27, 2007 12:03 AM

Dudley1-
I never said that she surrenders in one thread after another, but vetfromhell brought that to my attention. He's an observant one, and he is absolutely correct.

I just asked her to provide me with proof of a donation to Soldier's Angels, and she couldn't even come up with that! Apparently, on her ambulance-chasing paycheck (a paycheck that she made an internet bet on) she can't even afford a fuckin' Office Depot scan to prove me wrong with her 'acknowldegement' letter? It will never happen.

She must be a taco vending ambulance chaser in Tijuana if she can't afford to shut down some drunken, gun-toting redneck from Kalifornia because it would cost her too much for a scan.

Nothing but rhetoric...

Yep.

You do realize that the Dimocrats are gonna get the blame for losing the war, right?

I posted to the AJC today in the Letters/Editor about exactly this.

Victory!

Murtha, Pelosi, Reid, and even surrender sally want to play politics with citizens lives. It must suck to be them.

Time to indict the above three for treason. And realize that Sally is REALLY Jane!

Posted by: vetfromhell on April 27, 2007 03:48 AM

Sally is to articulate to be Jane, no way.

I hope the liberals realize that had they, the media and the f'ing pacifists in this country allowed our military to fight a war the way a war should be fought (destroy everything and everyone in our path, including those here at home that obstruct that goal), we'd be done in Iraq. It would be a smoldering pile of ruins (not much different than it was before we removed Saddam) and the people over there that might want to wreak havoc over here would either be dead, or scared shitless to try it. But thanks to Sally buddies on the liberal bandwagon, we have been fighting a politically correct war with people looking over military's shoulders and second guessing every freaking decision the president makes. I think it's time the patriotic people of this country take our country back and "surpress" the like of Sally and her liberal ilk. I predict this is going to happen as soon as Fred Thompson throws his hat in the ring. It will be the dawn of a new error. The end of liberalism here in America. Sally, start looking for a new job. I'm going to need some more poop scoopers at the clinic, I'm hiring at minimum wage. You interested?

Posted by: Ray on April 27, 2007 06:19 AM

Vet,
I could forward a bunch of e-mails to you that I've received from Jane. She writes entirely diffrent from Sally. Jane would resort to fickle name calling by the second paragraph.

Sally,
Wasn't an increase in troop strength what the dems were demanding during election campaigns? We even had some of them calling for a draft.
You are right in that we cannot win their civil war. Look at what happened with the Balkans. The Soviets kept them contained for many decades, but as soon as the Soviets left, warring resumed. We shouldn't try to stop their civil war. Let them fight it out. With any luck it will boil down to two muslims left, including all the supporters that have filtered in from surrounding terrorist states.
The fact is that if we pull out, their civil war will boil over into surrounding nations, every where that refugees flee. That would be OK with me except that oil exports would be disrupted by it, and that would be a serious global problem. We cannot afford to simply shut off the oil, the WORLD economy is too dependent on it.

Posted by: Jeremy on April 27, 2007 09:56 AM

Not only that but Sally is either incorrect or lying when she says the surge isn't working--it's already showing positive results.

But don't let the truth get in the way of your agenda to ruin the US, Sally.

Posted by: Rick C on April 27, 2007 10:05 AM

Sally:

And it is a waste to try fight it for them. We're not fighting terrorism there; we're breeding terrorists and losing too many of America's best.

You've said that before, been refuted, and now you're just repeating what was previously refuted.

Someone found it hard to believe you're an attorney, believe me, I don't, given your ability to stick to a point, refuse to listen to any contrary evidence, insist that "your side" is right, and ignore any and all side effects/consequences what would happen if you "win".

Yep. Sounds exactly like the vast majority of the legal profession to me.

Posted by: Unix-Jedi on April 27, 2007 10:13 AM

Sally:

Not that you'll answer this, since it's factually based...

But given that the fighting in Iraq is using quite a lot of mass-produced explosives, and the total cost is estimated at over 15 million US Dollars a month for supplies, ammo, and the like...

What would you deduce from that?

Posted by: Unix-Jedi on April 27, 2007 10:22 AM

DanS - They didn't print it.

Sally - I am so sick of that breeding more terrorists canard. Breeding more terrorists.

Like the ones who took our diplomats hostage in Iran in violation of the sacred International Law that you liberals want us to obey?

Like the ones who blew up the Marine barracks in Lebanon?

Like the ones who tried to blow up the WTC the first time?

Like the ones who blew up our embasies in Africa?

Like the ones who blew up the Khobar Towers?

Like the ones who blew up the Cole?

Like the ones who blew up the WTC on 9/11?

Do you really want to know what breeds more terrorists? Probably not since you seem to have become a drive by commenter rather than read the refutations of your liberal bullshit. What breeds more terrorism is a sign of weakness by the United States. Bin Laden said that he knew we could be defeated when he saw us leave Somalia with our collective tail between our legs. And from the voices on the left it appears he was right. That was his best recruiting tool. If we leave Iraq that will be even better for him than Somalia.

Once again we are gonna have to fight a multigenerational war because this country does not have the stomach to take on a long term war against Islamic terrorism. You assholes extended the Cold War and you'll do the same to this war. Your talking points are no different from our enemies. You must be so proud.

*** BREAKING NEWS ***

172 arrested in Saudi Arabia plot

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia (Map, News) - Police arrested 172 Islamic militants, some of whom had trained abroad as pilots so they could fly aircraft in attacks on Saudi Arabia's oil fields, the Interior Ministry said Friday. A spokesman said all that remained in the plot "was to set the zero hour."

Quick! Sally! Why do the Sauds.. hate.. the Sauds! What are they doing to create these terrorists?!?!!!!

We need a answer! Quickly!

Posted by: Unix-Jedi on April 27, 2007 02:20 PM

sally ann cavanaugh is a character in the movie "Fletch" And yes, the character is an attorney. The closest our sally ever got to law school was "Law and Order" reruns.

Posted by: vetfromhell on April 27, 2007 02:48 PM

Is that Axis Sally?

So Tokyo Rose is still alive, eh? Blogmeet!

Posted by: Velociman on April 27, 2007 03:22 PM

Actually, vetfromhell, the closest Sally got to law school was watching "The Paper Chase"...Which was a TV show about law school students.

Posted by: Rob Cooper on April 27, 2007 03:50 PM

Paper Chase was cool, I liked John Houseman. He had a saying on the show about something feeding the bulldog. As used in an argument, speculation does not feed the bulldog. Something like that.

Posted by: vetfromhell on April 27, 2007 04:03 PM

I wondered why the name sounded familiar. Are you sure she was an attorney? Now I have break out Fletch (which was much better than the movie) and reread it.

Sally - The surge has only started. Less than half of the buildup has arrived in country.

And, like I said, there is no reason to believe that the surge will ever work. Unfortunately, we are investing American lives in this strategy that is unlikely to work. I hate that they have to pay for Bush's blind stubbornness.

You do realize that the Dimocrats are gonna get the blame for losing the war, right?

That one made me laugh, Denny. Conservatives will blame Democrats. Republicans will try to blame Democrats. The vast majority of the American people won't blame Democrats. Most of America wants this war to end and Democrats are trying to make that happen. Democrats will finally end it. And the American people will be very happy.

Posted by: Sally on April 27, 2007 06:21 PM

Not only that but Sally is either incorrect or lying when she says the surge isn't working--it's already showing positive results.

Violence has decreased in Baghdad and increased in multiple provinces around Iraq. Predictably, once Baghdad has been squeezed, the insurgents leave the city to commit acts of violence throughout the country. Overall violence in Iraq hasn't decreased during the surge; it has just moved.

Posted by: Sally on April 27, 2007 06:33 PM

Correction......

CharlieDelta, sorry for referancing you instead of Vetfromhell, but I`ll bet you were thinking it.

I see Socialist Sally is back for more Bitchslapping.....She does not yet understand the basic premise of for every action ,there is a reaction. If our forces are allowed to finish the job ,we will chase the terrorists all around Iraq until they are beaten into the ground, then we can let the the people of Iraq settle their rivalries on their terms not Al Queda & their allies.

Posted by: dudley1 on April 27, 2007 09:14 PM

If our forces are allowed to finish the job ,we will chase the terrorists all around Iraq until they are beaten into the ground, then we can let the the people of Iraq settle their rivalries on their terms not Al Queda & their allies.

And is there any reason to believe that a 10% increase in troop strength is going to turn this war around and enable us to stop the violence and lead the people of Iraq to "settle their rivalries"? The conflict in that area between Sunnis and Shia goes back many centuries. Suddenly we're going to help them settle the conflict by decreasing the violence a bit? Please get real.

Posted by: Sally on April 27, 2007 09:40 PM

Sally - You were on the wrong side of history during the Cold War and you will be on the wrong side of history in the war against radical Islam. Sad. Very sad. Coming up later: a post on betrayal.

Posted by: Denny on April 27, 2007 10:05 PM

Socialist Sally...

We cannot stop the sectarian fighting between shi-ite & Sunni Iraqi`s unless we have we were to institue a draft & place millions of troops into Iraq....what we can do is destroy the Al Queda & its other foreign allies that have come to Iraq to fight us.

We should understand that ethnic rivalries last for generations , look at what was once Yugoslavia, after Tito died it degenerated into the principalities of the region which were consolidated by Tito into the artificial country called Yugoslavia.

Sadly the conflict of the Shi-ites & Sunnis is something they will have to resolve on their own in accordance to terms which they will specify in their own time & way.All we can really do is to clear the playing field of the outside infuences from Al Queda , other muslim extremists & Iran to allow for an Iraqi solution by the Iraqi inhabitants.

The one exception I suggest is to seperate the Kurds from the mix & support an independant Kurdistan , I would expect the Kurds from Northern Iran & the western part of Turkey would eventually move to be a part of that as well.

What is really sad is the lack of understanding you & the rest of your socialist liberal sympathizers have to what is neccessary for this country to do to maintain our standing in the world, to protect our country & the importance of fighting our battles on the enemys turf not ours.

The first step is to acknowledge we have been attacked , we are at war & it is a war we must win. Your socialist liberal spin & BS will never change this reality. You are in a position to either recognize this ,or to prepare yourself for subjugation to the muslims who demand us to surrender or die.It is your choice I suppose but if the muslims are ever successful in bringing the fight to this country in force
& you run out in front of me waving a white flag........you will be a casualty.

Posted by: dudley1 on April 27, 2007 10:37 PM

Sally:

You failed to tell me what you analyze from what I asked you.

Or to explain the Saudi arrests.

Instead, you merely repeated the talking points about the "surge" (ignoring that Jeremy asked you wasn't that what the Democrats bashed Bush with prior to the election... meaning he's embarked on the plan they ran, and won the mid-terms elections as their platform)., "civil war".... just.. talking points. No analysis, no change, just what you said before.

Democrats will finally end it. And the American people will be very happy.

Really? Very happy? As the American people were very happy when we pulled out of Vietnam in disgrace? What about in the 70s when we were considered a toothless nation unwilling to stand up for ourselves?

As the American people were happy when we fled the Somali warlords? (Osama was very happy, he made much hay out of that 'abandonment')... But it didn't stop the war.

The complete inability of you to realize that actions NOW have a effect not just now, but also later... well, yes, that basically does define your political affilation.

Posted by: Unix-Jedi on April 28, 2007 12:42 AM

"The complete inability of you to realize that actions NOW have a effect not just now, but also later"

This is exactly what I have been saying is the basic fault in liberal logic for years now. They have no ability or reason to look into the future. Everything is NOW, NOW, NOW (and ME, ME,ME). Good thing our founding fathers didn't have this selfish atitude.

Posted by: Ray on April 28, 2007 08:24 AM

Poor surrender sally. Look at her points:

And, like I said, there is no reason to believe that the surge will ever work.

Somebody's got to end this debacle.

calling for an end to this pointless waste of a war.

Unfortunately, the surge isn't working and there is no good reason to think that it will.
