I don't feel anything about Hilton and view her as a spoiled rich brat. But,if behavior modification is the goal for the sentencing judge then that could probably be better achieved through community service or a half-way house. I guess though that the judge feels that the cell space could be better used by Hilton, rather than some California gang-banger.

Good going, California! Another criminal will (eventually) be off the street and the court system will be clogged with appeals for the next ten years; but, maybe the idea is to just keep more lawyers employed (and judges).

We refuse to accept the community service criminals anymore. It ties up a good person to watch the criminal or they'll steal you blind.

In Nevada it is a mandatory 30 day sentence if you are caught driving on a DUI suspended license. I don't see the big deal.

People like her can only be hurt in one or two ways, the pocket book, or her "image". They should have fined the ever living shit out of her (but probably couldn't due to some sort of limitations) or the next best thing would have her do some really demeaning public service with the media watch. Clean out some city sewer system, go work cleaning bathrooms in some homeless shelter or something like that. That would have hurt her where it counts. EGO.

For most people, a DUI conviction never happens, most people do not drink and drive. But if and when you do get a conviction, and your drivers' licednse is suspended or revoked, the average person really suffers.
