Psssst! Wanna piss off Algore? Then go buy some Carbon Debits. As it says on the site:
We are on a mission to take away every one of Al Gore's meaningless carbon credits by simply providing carbon debits. Help us make this dream a reality by purchasing one of the packages below. Don't let Al Gore assuage his guilt with meaningless penance, heap it back on with carbon debits – every one of which we will let him know about.
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Kill a tree!
From Jeff in Tucson.
Posted by denny at May 16, 2007 10:37 PMI'm down with some tree killin..I hates me some trees :D
Posted by: Hammer on May 17, 2007 12:18 AMIsn't that the AWB of '08?
Hey AL Gore wanna come over to my place and have a fireside chat by my big old fireplace its a great way to warm up .
Posted by: Darrell G on May 17, 2007 07:44 AMLast fall, I cut down a dozen pine trees that lined my driveway. Today, the stumps are soaking in kerosine. Tomorrow, the stumps get lit. Please debit my account.
Posted by: ChuckS on May 17, 2007 09:13 AMWe will be having a bonfire on Sat nite. Please debit my account for at least 2 trees!
Posted by: Michele on May 17, 2007 03:14 PMYou realize, of course, that everybody's spelling that thing wrong. It's not "Carbon Debits"; it's Cabron Dimwits.
Posted by: eros total on May 17, 2007 05:03 PMDamn! Fergot to mention that those fires in GA and FL will insert more particulate matter and greenhouse gases into the atmosphere than all 300 million of us peeps could generate drivin Escalades and Hummers 24/7 for a whole goddam year.
I await with unbearable curiosity which Demoncrap will find a way to blame the whole thing, including volcano and the mid-Atlantic ridge
Posted by: eros total on May 17, 2007 05:27 PMI'm sorry, I fail to see what good comes of this. Yes I know it's a satire, but why the blind hate against the environment? If Al Gore is wrong, well so what? Will it really matter? But if he's right...
Posted by: Jon on May 17, 2007 07:02 PMJon - He's wrong.
Posted by: Denny on May 17, 2007 07:14 PMalgore is not right. He is left, way left. And he is just another snake oil salesman who has found an issue that he can profit from. The world is going to burn up. Your grandkids will die. But if you buy these carbon credits from my company, we can save the world and your grandkids. And today only, we will give you ten credits free with the purchase of ten, but you must order within the next two hours.
Posted by: ChuckS on May 17, 2007 07:15 PMJust to clarify, do you not believe the world is warming at all, or do you not feel it is caused by humans?
I can see your argument that he is just trying to turn a profit. But there's a lot of researchers backing him up as well who aren't making money. And I think he's not the only one trying to get rid of the carbon footprint.
Yes, I am left leaning in my political views.
Posted by: Jon on May 17, 2007 10:35 PMJon - I do believe the earth is warming. I do not believe humans have anything to do with it. I believe it is natural warming caused by the sun. Mars is warming as well. The only SUVs on that planet are the Mars rovers. Back in the 11th Century Greenland was warm enough to support forage for livestock. It was warmer then than it is now. Then we entered the Little Ice Age.
Only 5% of the carbon dioxide is produced by humans. The rest is natural. It's hard to believe that our minor 5% contribution could affect the climate.
If Algore is so concerned about a carbon footprint, why doesn't he set an example by cutting back on his energy consumption in his mansions and flying commercial rather than a private jet. Oh yeah. He buys carbon offsets from a company he owns.
He is a snake oil salesman and a hypocrite to boot. But then, he's a Dimocrat so that goes without saying.
Posted by: Denny on May 17, 2007 11:23 PMHey Jon
I'll be glad when the polar ice caps melt next year . I've always wanted to own some beachfront property .
Bonfires on the beach, now thats living .....
Before I'll buy the whole the earth is warming thing I'll need someone to explain that 9 1/2 inches of ice that wrecked the roof on my house this year . Although I was told by a very smart young lady that just finished 4 years of college that global warming can actualy make the earth colder HUH !
Shes the same girl whose family scrimped and saved for most of thier lives so she would have a good education . They got her into an Ivy league school and she majored in sign language . Then she realized she didnt like being around deaf people so now she works in a strip mall selling soap and handtowels for 6.50 an hour she thinks the Dems are going to improve her life because they are going to raise the minimum wage . She also blames Bush for everything bad that happens including blowing up the WTC on 911 and she thinks Algore is the second coming .
If I had a time machine I would go back 24 years and give her Dad a free box of rubbers .
Yea the thing about the icecaps melting is a joke. But in this world with all the shit for brains liberals running around if I didnt have sense of humor I'd probably be in prison for killing everyone in the local starbucks
APPLAUSE SIGN!
Posted by: LisaKay on May 18, 2007 06:00 AMAl Gore has a big Carbon Butt Print. If you need me, I'll be out spraying chemicals on the lawn and idleing the trucks. Why? Because it pisses off my new illegal Guatemalan neighbors. They didn't want to live in Mexico either! Instead they came all the way to my neighborhood, built a wooden shed complete with a commercial deep fryer. Moments after they strated up their catering biz, the neighborhood about burned down, like we didn't see that coming. Dah! Asswipes melted the ice with the heat from my roof, and my gutters. Good luck getting a roof due to weather now. The cops and fire department? They claim a language barrier-these people speak a da Ingles better than Dan S. does. When chickens start running amok, I'm going to commit a hate crime! (on a chicken) Dan S. Says it's okay? Anarchy in the 'burbs!!!
Posted by: LisaKay on May 18, 2007 06:12 AMDoes anyone remember the early 70's when we were on the verge of an ice age? bbbbbrrrrr. Sure is cold now. Global climate change is a natural phenomenon, that must be measured by the decade, or even by the century. Every time my daughter spouts that stuff, I tell her "COW FARTS" which makes up a larger % of CO2 emission than mankind.
Posted by: brockkl on May 18, 2007 08:26 AMWell, as some say, humnans aren't the cause of global warming. But no matter what the cause is, don't you think people need to do what they can to prevent it? Even if we're not the root cause, well great, but that's not going to do us any good when most of Africa floods, and then we've got 100 million people trying to get into the US. If you've got issues with a few million mexicans coming in...whew, this will be something else.
If the icecaps melt, no matter what the cause, we're still going to have to deal with the consequences of worldwide flooding and a completely new looking earth. Don't you think that's reason to fight it?
So if Al Gore was selling bonds or something that went directly to buying wind turbines, would you have a problem with that? Is it just the fact that Al Gores trying to do something, or is it the likely corruption with his carbon credits that bugs you?
Posted by: Jon on May 18, 2007 06:35 PMWe have more than enough real environmental problems to deal with. We should not waste time and money and effort on trying to slow down or stop or reverse the warming of the planet. It cannot be done. CO2 comprises only five-one-hundredths of one percent of the atmosphere at the very most, which is far too little to have any detectable greenhouse warming effect.
I see a major problem in the fact that so many smart people, who know the facts about this global warming thing, are still avidly trying to promote the CO2 story.
Posted by: LtDan on May 19, 2007 07:34 PMJon, go put twenty ice cubes in a glass and fill it with water. see what happens when the ice melts. Same is true of the polar ice caps that float on the oceans. Consider that Greenland was farmed only a few short centuries ago. Consider that at one time all the ice was water in the atmosphere and oceans. Consider that we are losing miles of farm land to desert in Africa every year due to DROUGHT. We are nearing the end of a cycle of global dehydration, not entering one of global warming. This is the first year in quite a while that we have had adequate rain fall in the mid west.
