For those of you who aren't Texans and think they are nothing but a bunch of uncivilized ruffians...not true. In fact, they even have ladies groups that meet regularly to discuss current events and develop needed home skills.
Here is a photo taken at a recent, "Say NO to Hillary" ladies group meeting in Blanco, TX.

From CharlieB who doesn't even live in Texas.
Posted by denny at May 24, 2007 11:52 AMLooks like tey're into revolvers. But I only see one mouse-gun, the rest are well armed.

"Those aren't Texas Ladies even if the meeting was in Blanco because 1) they don't seem to be familiar with their weapons and the weapons aren't Colt Peacemaker's and 2) they don't have "Big Hair"."
Glenmore - I happen to know a few Texas ladies (Blown-Eyed Blodgers) and none of them have big hair.
Posted by: Denny on May 24, 2007 01:35 PMThe look about par with all the Texas Gals I know.
Not familliar with the weapons? How can you make that judgement from a single photo? I'd bet they could give any intruder a few good reasons to seek medical attention.
What's wrong with Big hair?
Unless its on John Edwards, of course.
All they need is a couple of Dr. Pepper's on the table. CharlieB is on a roll!
Posted by: vetfromhell on May 24, 2007 05:54 PMI hope those are dummy rounds they are loading. Look at the lady on the right; finger curling into the trigger guard, left hand in front of the muzzle, muzzle aiming at her knee; I hope nobody makes her flinch! Other than that, I like chicks with guns!
Posted by: Steve on May 25, 2007 06:37 AMBig hair is coming back, also a good place to stash an extra mag.
Groups of Women (three or more) scare the crap outta me, they are just plain evil. Guns optional.
A couple of years ago my wife went out and bought a little mousegun. It was "cute". Probably an allright decision as she wasn't afraid of it and learned gun safety and handling with it, but now she prefers my Sig 226. She says her next gun will be a 45.

I own & enjoy a sizable number of sidearms from the noble 22 up to my favorite hunting revolver the S&W model 29 44 mg with a 10&3/8 barrel topped with a Leupold 4x scope. Not very concealable but scares the bejesus out of the deer.
For home self-protection I have a S&W model 645.. 45acp auto & S&W 4506 9mm auto.... once again not very concealable but for home self protection this is not an issue.
For carry purposes, I use a Colt model 1903 32acp auto...oldie but goodie & concealable, for backup I have a Colt 1908 25acp auto, another oldie but really concealable. Neither of these are recommended for most people to use for protection unless they have spent the time & ammo to develop proficiency with them as shot placement is critical.
I shoot all of my primary weapons frequently to maintain shooting skills, for low cost fun & to keep the popcans & chipmunks under control my Ruger Mark one Target pistols & my Russian Tokarev 7.62 x25 auto are a hoot. I especially like the Tokarev as 1225 rounds of ammo can be had for around $110.00 & it is a cheap alternative for the 45 auto to practice with.
