Let's see. We're gonna achieve energy independence by using ethanol. After all, we grow lots of corn don't we? Maybe we should think this through. Making ethanol out of corn might not be such a good idea. It is a gummint solution after all, and sometimes they cause even more problems than they solve. Think War on Poverty. War on Drugs. And one for the moonbats, War on Terror.(Thanks to my brother-in-law for the link.)
It was a scant two years ago that Georgia's Saxby Chambliss voted with 73 other giddy senators for an energy bill that required the nation to use 7.5 billion gallons of ethanol. Georgia's farmers loved corn-based ethanol; Georgia's agri-businesses loved corn-based ethanol; and all that meant that then-Agriculture Committee Chairman Chambliss loved corn-based ethanol, too.
We're saved! We're gonna achieve energy independence. Poof! PFM. But wait!
Earlier this year, Mr. Chambliss introduced a bill calling for even greater ethanol use, though with one striking difference: The bill caps the amount of that fuel that can come from corn. Turns out Georgia's chicken farmers hate corn-based ethanol; Georgia's pork producers hate corn-based ethanol; Georgia's dairy industry hates corn-based ethanol; Georgia's food producers hate corn-based ethanol; Georgia's hunters hate corn-based ethanol. And all that means Mr. Chambliss has had to find a new biofuels religion.
Uh oh. The bloom is off the rose.
The shine is off corn ethanol, and oh, what a comedown it has been. It was only in January that President Bush was calling for a yet a bijillion more gallons of the wonder-stuff in his State of the Union address, and Iowa's Chuck Grassley was practically doing the Macarena in his seat. And why shouldn't Mr. Grassley and fellow ethanol handmaidens have boogied? They'd forced their first mandate through Congress, corn farmers were rolling in dough, billions in taxpayer dollars were spurring dozens of new ethanol plants--and here was the commander-in-chief calling for yet more yellow dollars. All in the name of national security, too!
I know! Let's party hardy with some good ol' corn likker! What? There's not enough corn left over?
Corn ethanol seemed unstoppable, but a remarkable thing happened on the road from Des Moines. Just as the smart people warned, the government's decision to play energy market God and forcibly divert huge amounts of corn stocks into ethanol has played havoc with key sectors of the economy. Corn prices have nearly doubled, which means livestock owners can't afford to feed their animals, and food and drink manufacturers are struggling to buy corn and corn syrup. Environmentalists are sour over new stresses on farmland; international aid groups are moaning that the U.S. is cutting back its charitable food giving, and many of these folks are taking out their anger on Congress.
While the rest of us are taking out our anger on Congress because of the Amnesty Immigration Bill.
Things are even hotter in Washington, where lobbying groups are firming up their positions against corn ethanol. The hugely influential National Cattlemen's Beef Association has gone so far as to outline a series of public demands, including an end to any government tax credits (subsidies) for ethanol and an axe to the import tariff on foreign ethanol. Put another way, the cattlemen are so angry that they are demanding free markets and free trade--a first. Maybe ethanol really is a miracle fuel. In any event, expect the ethanol call to get harder for Plains state senators such as Max Baucus, Ben Nelson and Byron Dorgan.
Free trade? Horrors!
John Stossel wrote a column discussing the myths of ethanol
Some of them:
without subsidies, ethanol would cost much more than gasoline. The claim that using ethanol will save energy is another myth. Studies show that the amount of energy ethanol produces and the amount needed to make it are roughly the same. "It takes a lot of fossil fuels to make the fertilizer, to run the tractor, to build the silo, to get that corn to a processing plant, to run the processing plant," Taylor says.
And because ethanol degrades, it can't be moved in pipelines the way that gasoline is. So many more big, polluting trucks will be needed to haul it.
A University of Minnesota study shows that even turning all of America's corn into ethanol would meet only 12 percent of our gasoline demand.
Studies indicate that the standard mixture of 90 percent ethanol and 10 percent gasoline pollutes worse than gasoline.
So let me get this straight. Corn prices are rising. Corn is not a good thing to make ethanol out of. It's not good for the environment. It doesn't save any energy. So why are we doing this?
Agribusiness, and of course, all the politicians on both sides of the aisle who are being bribed to create this boondoggle.
Watch Iowa. All the presidential candidates of both parties are in favor of corn based ethanol.
I'm shocked!
Posted by denny at May 24, 2007 01:39 PMI used to be a huge fan of ethanol until I realised it was fucking with the price of ribeyes.
That, and when I finally burned a tankful, my mileage dropped almost 40%.
The stats I've seen are diffrent regarding the effectiveness of ethanol, but it still is proving to be a costly alternative given that it is driving the prices of corn to insane levels.
I believe in finding alternative fuels simply to force the hands of the Arabs. In order to do that though the cost has to be reasonable without government incentives and controls. Ethanol is only one piece in the complex puzzle. Right now millions of acres of farm land are in the CRP which keeps them out of production. portions of that land are not viable for corn because they are erodable land and not fit for tilling. They could be used for grazing land though. Some of the CRP land is tillable though. Extension offices were expected to meet a quota, and to do that they took good farm land. All participants are voluntary. The Conservation Resource Pool was set up to get erodable lands out of tillage. when viable crop land was placed into the CRP, we got screwed.
Another piece in the puzzle is wind energy. We could be harnessing the effects of congress and lighting many homes. I am not in favor of electric cars. the polution from their batteries is far worse than any from fossil fuels. Another option is photo cells. They wouldn't run many cars, but they could power the AC, sterio etc and cut back on the demands on the alternator. Example, in the deserts in California Nevada etc, you have to shut off the AC because the car will over heat. but if you had a solar system powering it, you would not be adding strain to the motor.
The list could become quite long. We as conservatives should do our part simply because we are supposed to be money smart, and this is part of it.
All I know is this: politicians will only vote for things, for which they've received bribes. There is NO such thing as a politician who hasn't lied or taken money under the table.

Posted by: GT on May 24, 2007 03:49 PMDamn, all you guys are forgetting the poor fucking Mexicans that can't even afford their Tortillas. They have to come across the border to make more money just to eat. Poor bastards!
I'll never understand why they even need corn. They can make alcohol from nothing but water, yeast and sugar. Sugar is abundant and cheap if we get rid of the subsidies here in Florida that cost us billions. Hell, I've made moonshine while working in Saudi Arabia with nothing but sugar, water, and yeast that proofed out at 190. Didn't taste worth a shit but one could really get screwed up.
I understand that the ethanol binge has doubled the price of tortillas for our little sainted brown borhters. And where are they goninb to come when they can no longre afford Mexican food prices?
And if you drive past one of those "ethanol factories", you'll learn that it gives off a lot of stench, both at the fermenting and distilling phases, and produces a lot of visible air pollution.

Posted by: Rurik on May 24, 2007 04:40 PMI'll never understand why they even need corn.
Got it in 1, Gene.
The only reason to use corn is because we've got a huge amount of it. And per pound, it's not worth that much. Until the government mandates you get ethanol - and from corn.
Right now we're tarriffing Brazillian ethanol (they have a huge sugar beet crop) - such that it would depress the cost of ethanol by almost 1/2 if they didn't tax it.
Posted by: Unix-Jedi on May 24, 2007 05:05 PMIf we have so much corn why in hell are we buying it from China? How is infected gluten from China been found in pet food and chicken feed made and sold here in the US? What I am missing?
Posted by: vetfromhell on May 24, 2007 05:52 PMHey Denny
Heres a little fact that anyone who knows anything about running alcohol in car engines could tell you. (
It takes twice as much alcohol to produce the same amount of power as gasoline )
I build streetrods and race cars for a living and I've converted many, many engines to run on alky . The main reason this is done has to do with keeping the engine cool it has little to do with power . The first thing you must do on a race car is drill or change the jets to twice the size they would be for pump gas . Next the fuel pump and lines have to changed to bigger sizes and better materials because the alky eats the rubber . Next unless its a drag car you have to run a bigger fuel cell or tank because again you need twice as much to go the same distance . Next you have to run lots of advance in the ignition to start the burn earlier because alky burns slow cooler but slower .
To keep it short and sweet anyone who says alky will solve the fuel crisis is full of shit .
And Dick that is why your milage dropped by 40% and if you had'nt had a little gas in the tank already it would have gone to 50%
Aint it funny how all these washington critters failed to know the science before they promised the moon .
It takes a lot of water, fresh water to raise corn. It doesn't always rain enough, so they irrigate.
That is your drinking water.
Brazil doesn't have the roads and cars that the USA has, they can use sugar beets.
I heard there is a break through, it has been discovered that Solent Green Fuel is Mexicans
Posted by: Jim Macklin on May 24, 2007 08:17 PMSeems like I remember reading somewhere, too, that a gallon of ethanol only has 30-40% of the "power" a gallon of gasoline has. Ethanol is "AN" answer, but certainly not "THE" answer.
Posted by: Sandy G on May 24, 2007 09:44 PMJust as a side note :
There was once a car built that would run on any of the following fuels .
Gasoline
Alcohol
Wood
Coal
Corn cobs
Grease
Rubber
Dried cow dung
Paper
Rice
Dry grass or weeds of any kind
It was a run what ya brung type of powerplant if it would burn you could use it as fuel and it broke many speed records . It would literaly run so fast that the drivers never pushed it to its limit because the tires wouldnt take the speeds .
It was called the Stanley Steamer and it was built in the 1900's
It also took an hour to build a head of steam, so no quick trips to thye store, unless you did what the railroads did, kept the fires lit and learned to re-fule on the run, even to using water troughs to scoop up water at 100 mph.
I think we need atomic powered cars with a running chassis that will last 100 years and a quick change bodies.
Posted by: Jim Macklin on May 24, 2007 10:43 PMWe have got to find some solution to get away from our dependence with the towel heads. This is a start. I am loving all the ethanol plants in progress here in Nebr. Shortage of corn? Heck, that's all I see on my horizon.

Posted by: dudley1 on May 25, 2007 07:54 AMI've given it alot of thought and I've come up with the perfect solution . First I'll buy a rickshaw (made in china of course) and then get a team of mexicans to pull it. When I want to go I just hold a visa out front on a long stick .As for the alcohol I can keep a bottle in hand at all times . I will of course need to have a couple of big boob'd latin cuties at the front of the team so I can be styling as I travel
Posted by: Darrell G on May 25, 2007 08:32 AMWow, slow to the anti-ethonal party?
It's crap. I've mentioned this before.
Teresa........
Getting away from the dependance on towelheads!
1. Drill in ANWAR, already know there is oil there, can be done with little or no environmental impact.
2. Drill for oil off the Gulf coast in deeper water, already know oil is there, Mexico is drilling there & Cuba has contracted with the Chinese to do the same.
3.Re-explore the shallow oil fields in Pennsylvania & New York, finest crude oil in the world , estimated reserve in shallow fields exceeds 60% of original volume, potential for more oil deeper.
4.Eliminate all the environmental special blends of gasoline due to high cost to refine or availability.
5.Build new refineries which are more efficent & will be suitable for legitimate environmental concerns.
6. Upgrade existing refineries to increase capacities.
7.Accept the need for fossil based fuels in the short term, mandate a $.10 tax to be appropriated among legitimate alternative fuel or energy research & development sources.
8.Recognize the need to modernize our railroads to provide for inter-city transportation for travel & commerce like the Japanese, & Europe have
to reduce travel via automobile for people & goods by truck.
9. De-politicize the need for fossil fuels & BS environmetal issues & prioritize the need to maintain our industrial strength.
10. Weigh the cost effectiveness & actual impact for any alternate fuel or energy source before jumping off the bridge.
Items 1 thru 7 are immediatelty viable, will actually provide for more gasoline, reduce the cost for it & reduce the dependance for foreign oil.
Item 8 is something long overdue, to much interferance from unions , environmetal wingnuts & trucking companies.
Items 9 & 10 are just plain common sense & are what a prudent country, political party, or citizen should do & demand.
But.........Teresa , you are a liberal dimocrat,ALL OF the forgoing are at odds to dimocratic stated positions........Would you care to re-evaluate your position or at least demand from the Chuck Hagels ,they get their collective heads out of their ass & work for we the people & this country for a change?
Just wondering Teresa.......where do you really stand?
Posted by: dudley1 on May 25, 2007 02:01 PMDudley1, you said it very well.
I have thought we needed to improve our rail system for years now. There need to be tax breaks for companies who ship via rail, in the form of a higher road tax levied on non perishable goods. Most interstate goods could be hauled by train eliminating the need for many of the OTR trucks on our freeways. In OCS they taught us 6P Propper Prior Planing Prevents Poor Performance (other people have it with slight variations). If companies order far enough ahead, the stuff can be shipped by rail at considerable savings.
For that matter, given the abundance of coal, they could go back to steam locomotives as well but modernize them to a steam electric thus eliminating demand for more diesel.
Jeremy......
Yeah, our Rail system is about on par with Lionel Lines, a toy in a world that needs the United States to have a real rail system.
I was most impressed with Japans rail system, it has high speed between population, industrial centers & integrated local systems. The train stations are generally across the street from each other where the Shinkaisan high speed rail line interdicts the local systems. Every thing is color co-ordinated for identification, the cars are bright, air conditioned, feature food, beverages, clean, affordable & best of all run on time. Also no derelics flopped around the stations either.
Yes the Shinkaisan is state subsidized......but in this country we subsidize the farmers, illegal mexicans, welfare lizards, big oil, certain industries as well as all the pork barrel projects for our Senators & Congress Critters from both partys. At least we should provide assistance to develop a freight & transportation system equal to what is world class.
When you think about it, after experiencing what is available to other countries we feel are lesser then we are, you cant help but realize just how screwed up we are in this country with BS agendas & false priorities.
All this hoopla about Ethanol with no understanding of cost or the baggage to be added.Typical environmental BS. It is somewhat like the new miracle fuel ..Hydrogen..... How quickly we forget the Hindenberg.Do they think the explosive potential for Hydrogen has mysteriously gone away? Let me know the reaction when two Hydrogen fueled Auto`s or Trucks meet head-on in a densely populated center of a city. Let me feel the pain then.
I guess maybe these very same environmental wackoloons think no accident will ever occur, BHAWAAHAA......Echo for emphasis.
Posted by: dudley1 on May 25, 2007 05:16 PMWe used to have a good rail system in the United States. About 30 years ago, the trains jacked their prices up and the truckers took over. I live in a farming area and all of the grain used to go to Kabsas City on trains. Now truckers haul it or farmers haul it 100+ miles. Most of the elevators and small towns have removed their spurs. I know one elevator operator claimed it cost more just to get a train car dropped off so he could load it than it cost to truck grain and that didn't even count the cost for pulling the train car.
Posted by: Marj on May 25, 2007 06:58 PMDamn keyboard. Marj was me. I remember 40 years ago riding on a passenger train. It was one of the last runs of a passenger train in the area. It was a first grade class trip of about 50 miles one way.

Posted by: Mark on May 25, 2007 07:01 PMDudley1 - Hydrogen is actually less flamable than gasoline. The Hindenberg did not explode. It burned. Most of the people who were injured did it by jumping. I saw sumpin' on PBS a few years back where they shot a bullet into a conatainer of hydrogen and a container of gasoline. The hydrogen burned. The gasoline exploded.
The biggest problem with hydrogen is the delivery system. How do you fill a car with liquid hydrogen? How do you keep hydrogen as a liquid?
Posted by: Denny on May 25, 2007 09:22 PMThe good thing with Hydrogen is that it can be produced locally. We have a rancher near us who got peeved at the oil companies 20+ years ago. He set up electrolysis systems in several wells and a simple capture system to gather it up, a stock tank upside down over the well. He was able to bottle both the oxygen and the hydrogen and sell excess.
Damn, I'd forgotten about him until you mentioned it. His system was simple and cheap. he used the windmills to power old car alternaters, and hooked the wires to plow shares he dropped into the wells.
Very funny Dudley1 but no way in hell would I turn that sharp to the right. I will admit however that I was glad to hear that the bill passed for more funding for our troops as my son is going to the big sandbox soon. Us Libs were put between a rock a hard place over that one. The sly fox Dubya wins again. Very smooth move on his part.
Posted by: Teresa on May 26, 2007 12:30 AMWhat if we did it through sugar cane? All my smart friends say that would be the easiest way.
Posted by: Vetfromhell on May 26, 2007 01:46 AMTeresa, sly fox Bush or spineless liberals? The liberals are toying with the safety of our military and our future for what, political gain? Doesn't that make you want to puke? I'm glad that Rosie the traitor quit her job, the thought of her making 10 million dollars a year to call our troops terrorists makes my head want to explode.
No need for you to turn far to the right in order to land on the side of common sense. Come on over, you'll find that you just may like it! Look at it this way, in this country, if you are driving on the left side of the road, you're in for big trouble up ahead. hahahaha
Teresa .....
My comments were not designed to be funny only to illustrate the obstructive nature of the dimocratic beast regarding oil dependance & refusal to act in the best interest of the country. No, I don`t consider it funny, I consider it criminal & pathetic.
Regarding your liberalism, outwardly you profess this but display some beliefs contrary to that liberalism as only a closet conservative would. Think deeply...... let your inner thoughts shine through.
Incidently ,the current liberal talking point of "Dubya the slyfox" seems to be at odds with previous talking points of stupid, ignorant, chimpy blah, blah, blah. Don`t you think??
Denny, you are correct , the Hindenberg did not really explode , it burned in a swift violent manner that some witnesses described as an explosion. I still am not convinced as to the merit of Hydrogen fuel cells as the wave of the future though the source supply of water is readily available.
LisaKay...I`m with you on this issue.
Posted by: dudley1 on May 26, 2007 09:42 AMMark........
You are right about once we had a decent railroad system. My first recollections are of trips to visit my mothers parents during WW2..... these trains were all steam locomotives & seats were by priority assigned to service men, I remember as a very young boy , my mother, older sister & myself were sometimes relegated to seating in the baggage or mail car. It was very exciting to me & my sister, do not think mom was too pleased but it was war time & this is what it was .
I remember in the 50`s going to Cleveland Stadium to see the Indians play doubleheaders. A roundtrip ticket to Cleveland & back from Erie Pa including the tickets for the ball park was as I recall $13.95 or $15.95. That won`t cover a beer & a hot dog today.
You will never see bargains like that again & hopefully never have a WW3 but rail service could be improved & upgraded to world standards, the benefits are potentially staggering.I do not believe our federal representation will get off their asses & stop playing politics to do anything meaningful about it though.
Posted by: dudley1 on May 26, 2007 10:40 PMLisaKay, Us Libs were really hoping that our new Dems in congress would bring our troops home from this unwinnable war. That didn't happen. So that left us between a rock and a hard place. If they voted "yes" the repukes would have jumped all over them and if they voted "no" they would be accused of not supporting our troops. It was a no win situation. My son left today and when I hugged him goodbye I told him that he had better get his azz back safe on American soil or I would kill him. We laughed but I really wanted to tell him not to risk his life for those who have had far too many years to get their friggin country in order.

The problem with as you call them the new Dems is;
1. The old dems still control the party with their liberal socialist agenda.
2. For the old dems , it is not about the people it is about power & control.
3. Unfortunately the old dems are willing to sacrifice American victory to achieve regaining the White House.
4. The new dems will either follow the old dems line or they will be ostracized from positions of power or influence which are controlled by the old dems.
Teresa, once again you are spouting the liberal socialist talking points ....unwinnable war......The war was won , what is not progressing is the pacification of the part of Iraq which was the birthplace of Saddam & the problems with the militant muslims supported by Iran. You really ought to forget ABC, CBS,NBC, CNN PBR & all the liberal rags & mags who are pushing an agenda rather then to accurately report the news.
As I told you before the dimocrats are traitors giving aid & comfort to the enemy.....they should be brought up on treason charges , convicted & stripped of any power or influence then imprisoned.
More is the pity that sheeple like you blindly follow them even when you know they are wrong. To read your post advocating cut & running as the dims favor is an insult to our Veterans, active servicemen & women & patriotic Americans. Sorry Teresa, right now I am ashamed of you.
I do pray for the safe return of your son, I do hope the war is over soon, but I do recognize what is at stake , too bad you do not.

Also missed the memo that Dim's should be convicted of treason. Last I heard many people really believe that Dubya should be impeached. I am not a big fan of the cut and run either but too many troops souls lost in Irag when they should be in Afganistan where the trouble all began in the first place.
Posted by: Teresa on May 27, 2007 11:17 PMTeresa ...........
Yes the war was won , we conquered Saddam & his army, but as Bush said the Islamic Fundamentalists would flock to Iraq to fight us, this is a different war not so much against the Iraqi Baathist loyalists but Al Queda regulars & followers. It don`t make a whole lot of differance whether you fight them in Iraq or Afghanistan as long as the fights are not in the streets of America cities or the corn fields of midwest America.
Yes I do believe to give aid & comfort to the enemy as Pelosi, Murtha, Reid,Kennedy, Gore, Kerry & their allies the LSM have promoted & done deserve the treason charges & they should face them.
Bush should be impeached? Only in your dreams, you confuse the actions of a president who made a decision based on the best available evidence, the same decision as did all the dimocratic wannabes & somehow that measures up to the lying & perjury, attempts to blackball Monica & finally being disbarred by the bar association of Arkansas for his efforts ....Bill Clinton.
You say there are those who think Bush should be impeached, well there are some think the world is flat but that don`t make it true. For impeachment to go forward there must be evidence of crime or mis-deed`s. To act in the defense of this country against those who conspire against or attack us is not yet an impeachable offense.
You confuse revenge with reality. Me, I prefer a president who will act in the best interests of this country to one who reads the polls & waits indecisively until it it to late to act.I do not think it is any accident that no major terrorist acts have been committed since 9/11 .......You remember that little incident ,almost 3000 people killed ,the biggest attack on American soil ever by a foreign group or do you not?
I shudder to think what would have transpired under the presidency of John"I served in Viet Nam" Kerry who also fronted for a communist group & lied under oath to a congressional committee about America Troop atrocities. Oh I`m sorry he is one of the heros of the dimocraric liberal socialists you admire so much.Well , you ought to re-evaluate what is really important for heros.
I said I was ashamed for your last posting seeing as it was inappropriate for Memorial Day, now I`m pissed because you just will not get it & continue to desecrate this day. The actions of your heros & to a lessor degree, the support of & encouragement by people like you is wrong, demeans our troops & gives aid & comfort to the enemy. You really should be ashamed of yourself, with self-reflection for your actions ,then maybe I would not have to be ashamed or pissed at you.
Look,Teresa......I know you worry about your son , you would not be a good mother if you did not,I rspect you for that. But today, take a trip to a cemetary , one preferably with a section reserved for the fallen soldiers of current & past wars.....reflect on your obstinate support for the real enemies of this country & tell them who rest in peace what you are doing is correct. Somehow I do not think you can, at least I hope you can`t.

Dudley1, my last post was yesterday. Not today as we remember our loved ones. And I could really care less that you felt ashamed and pissed off at me. I have my beliefs and you have yours. I will forever support our troops. You need to get it through your thick skull that it is possible to support our troops and also speak your mind that you oppose the war in Iraq. Its called freedom of speach and comman sense. Thanks for the tips though.

I went to the cemetary yesterday to pay homage to those who gave so much for all of us, it is a shame many of us are pre-occupied with frivolous pursuits & we forget those who sacrificed so much to ensure all of us have the freedom to engage in those pursuits.
I consider myself to be an American first, a Conservative second, a Republican third & a dimocrat...never! as long as the traitorous liberal socialist bastards are in charge of the agenda of that once fine party.I am secure in my beliefs as I have 230 or so years of history for this country, our constitution & all that we have accomplished to substantiate those beliefs.
To those of you who identify with the liberal point of view, I was just reading a bit about Ding Bat Pelosi who was screeching that our booming economy was proof big business was exploiting the war for profit & was furthur proof that the poor were being exploited. Her reasoned solution is to assess higher tax rates then ever to redistribute the wealth of this country to the millions of unemployed poor people...." thought we had a booming economy? " ....An example she mentioned is the 12 million or so illegal immigrants who need our help to live the kind of life they came here for.
Apparently our immigration laws mean nothing to Pelosi, apparently the fact over 80% of Americans invest into the stock market which is driven by our booming economy means zilch & only the implementation of socialist policies for central authority & confiscation are important. Sleep well with the thought this asshole is #3 in line for assuming the Presidency.
Our friend Teresa has posted I have a thick skull .....possibly , must be the reason my judgement has not been compromised by the cosmic rays which cloud reality for which liberals wear tinhats to avoid.
Thick skull or not, I understand that to support the troops does not mean to identify with those who give aid & comfort to the enemy or emulate their behavior. As for Bush or any other President the only forum which is appropriate to register approval or lack of..... is the election every four years.
To all veterans everywhere....Thank You from the bottom of my heart. To those who have passed , to those who are resting in foreign lands...... I remember. To those of you who are still serving on active duty, I pray for the success of your mission & your safe return....God bless you all.

Posted by: Teresa on May 29, 2007 11:16 PMTeresa......
Glad you feel the way you do about the last paragraph..........Now if only you would open your eyes & mind to the rest.
I was deadly serious about Pelosi, this is what she said.......
Commenting on the new record highs of the stock market, she condemned them as just another example of Bush policies helping the rich get richer.First Bush cut taxes for the rich & the economy rebounded with new record unemploment rates....... this means the rich employers are getting richer at the expense of the poor working class.
She went on to also say,Despite the billions being spent in Iraq, our economy is still strong & tax revenues are at an all time high....this means business is exploiting the war effort just to put money in their pockets.
She also said ,There is no question these profits & income need to be taxed at 100% with the money redistributed to the poor & working class........We in congress need to address this issue by taxing the profits & controlling the stock market to prevent the income from flowing to the rich.
She was not yet done..... we democrats will return to the 60% to 80& tax rates for the rich & take at least 30% of the lower tax payers off of the tax roles.......... The goal is to equalize the income in this country & limit the amount the rich can invest.
Concerning how the tax dollars would be spent , she said ..... We need to raise the standard of living for our poor & minorities, for example we have an estimated 12,000,000 illegal immigrants in our country who need our help........... these increased taxes would go a long way to gaurantee these people the standard of living they would like to have as "Americans"
Teresa, does not this attitude of pure socialism disturb you in the least? This Fruit cake is third in line of succession to the presidency & nominal head of the dimocrats, does not this bother you a little bit?
This is why I will never be a dimocrat as long as these leftwing socialist elitests are in charge, all of we Americans need to be aware of what their agenda really is & react to the danger they pose.......Do you finally see what we are talking about? you may not like Bush but this is the alternative posed by the dimocrats........, could you really want this?
Posted by: Dudley1 on May 30, 2007 08:20 AMWhat my little idiot meant to post was that he loves sucking the penis' of senile old men.
Most of them though are too far over the hill to notice that the pretty in a nurses uniform gobbling their cum has chin hair. Poor fools.
Good God Dudley1, this is getting old. I get it that you have issues with women in power. Get over it and open Your eyes.
Posted by: Teresa on May 31, 2007 12:09 AMTeresa,
You didn't even read what the good man took the time to write. He was trying to educate you on something muy importante. What did you do first? You called him a name and tried to insult him with the woman in power thingy. Why? because thats what liberal types do. They can't debate real facts or history, so they first call names and then insult.
Getting back to Nancy Pelosi. She is bad for capitalism, she is bad for America. She is a bad woman. She is a craptastic Speaker, and a huge hypocrite. She didn't pull the troops out, she did Not defund the war. Why are you still supporting her? She went abroad and met with the syrian dictator as an act of undermining our foreign policy. (and lied about the Isrealis) She should be hanged for treason. For the record, she committed high crimes and misdemeanors. GWB did not. She also has a huge scandel with hiring illegals for her companies, while extolling the virtues of Labor Unions. Why? Because labor unions give their bucks to the dims to help aid them in getting dead folks, the old and the feeble to vote. She also has bribed congress with money to vote her way. She will get hers. She's not a good guy in my world or yours. How's about you not like her simply based upon the fact that she shares the same cosmetic surgeon as Micheal Jackson? Or do you still find him Thrilling as well? Maybe you should ask Sir Dudley his opinion of Condi or Margret Thatcher, or Karen Hughes or Mary Matalin, any other attractive high powered Conservative women...Sorry sweetie, Elizabeth Hasslebeck doesn't count.
Here's the thing, don't hate the messenger. Read the message and give it some time to sink in.
And yes, the war on Iraq was won handily. Those troops went further faster then any invasion ever. They pulled off bridge crossings and sniper raids, they blew up bridges and re-built them better. Over head they had the fly boys, and from under the sea the subs were blowing up targets that we watched on television. That's just the short version. We killed all the initial bad guys, and now hope to stand up a democratic government. Yeah it's a mess, war is a messy business. Fight now or die worrying about your grandkids blowing up on a bus on their way home from school. Death to America Teresa means excatly that. They live amongst us.
Your son isn't fighting for free speech, he is fighting so his family won't have to. I wish him well as I do all our troops. They are heroes for going and I stand by that.
Teresa, I'm glad that you didn't give your son some crap on send off about people who hadn't taken the time to get their country in order-that would've meant you? He knows better than that, hopefully he will be off killing the ass hats who want to kill you, Rosie and your momma.
When I send my kid off it's full of sappy and then the old Lacrosse Defensive team chest smash and rally cries of Git Some! Bring me lil kim's zipper suit! That's his neighborhood, and who gives a crap who is in political power. It's mission on and I support that. That's the thing that you need to fully realize. I'm sure that you were fine with Bill Clinton bombing Iraq, he hit a camel and an asprin factory to obfuscate the fact that not only was he fucking an intern with a cigar, but that he was also tampering with a federal grand jury. About that the time, his wife was hiding fbi files in a closet, and conjured up the term Right Wing Conspiracy. Thing is, that when they were in office they gutted our military. Sold our defense secrets to the highest bidder and put the rest of us in danger by not killing the bad guys just to touch on a few. Now are you thinking of voting for shillary or any Dhimmy? If you are then I will be the first one in line to say shame on you and want to punch your lights out. Do I have a problem with a woman in power? No, george bush has been an excellent Commander in Cheif. I think that Condi would be good as a veep. The guy that I want isn't up yet at bat. My point is this, vote for Ralph Nader.
Teresa in denial.....
Look Teresa, I am just trying very hard to help people like you to open your eyes.....mine are open, I see reality & what I see is very dangerous for the country.
You proclaim to be a liberal.....the problem is you do not what that means, what liberals stand for or what the consequences of being a liberal supporter will be if they gain power.
I said once before you can call a donkey an Arabian stallion, you might fool some of the people but those of us who do pay attention know it is still a jackass. You Teresa, are in the first group who are willing to accept what the liberals spew without taking the time to understand the real message.
I know you for being a nurse are not a stupid person. Therefore your refusal to listen or open your eyes is an example of ignorance.... it is curable if you want it to be.Is my message getting old? Perhaps but I am still optimistic you will come around.
You stated I have a problem with "Women in Power"..... Ha! far from it, but I do hold them to the same standards as any man ......do not abuse that power, perform the job you were elected to,follow the constitution & honor the oath of office you took. There are many women who have achieved success in politics, business & science.....Lisakaye mentioned but a few,as for me I admire them , I am proud of them , I support them & would vote for a woman running for President if she possessed the qualifications of say Margaret Thatcher.
Aside to Lisakaye...thanks for the support, you fall with in the catagory of women I respect & admire.
Posted by: dudley1 on May 31, 2007 08:34 AMLisaKay, not sure why you don't think that I take the time to read posts. I obviously read them all which makes me want to post. Speaking of posts, what the hell does "muy importante" mean? Is that hispanic? Because I refuse to learn the language. If the war has been won in Iraq then please tell me why my son has to go? Read yesterday that 7000 Iragi refugees were welcomed here. So why are we sending our troops over there to help their country and now they are coming here? So sorry I touched a nerve with you Dudley1. Bahaha.
Posted by: Teresa on June 1, 2007 12:17 AMTeresa......
Touched a nerve with me??? Why, because I tried to give you some information you desperately needed? Because I assumed you would be intelligent enough to read & comprehend truth for the intent of people you identify with ?
I wonder just how many of the Jews in Germany ignored Hitler until it was too late? I wonder how many said or wrote "Bahaha" when confronted with proof for the real intentions of Hitler? Do you need for this country to fall before you wake up?
I guess you are one of the vast flock of Sheeple the liberal dimocrats count on to accept what is fed to them without substanative value. Maybe instead of Bahaha! you should change the chorus to Baaahhhh, Baahhh, Baaahhhh! It fits your political thought much more appropriately.
I remember back in my youth a neighbor of my parents who immigrated to this country just prior to WW2 from Eastern Europe.....She lamented so many times for the inability of her countrymen to recognize what was coming, she grieved for the many family members who perished because of that obstinate refusal to understand. She lived with memories & without those who were family because of the same ignorance you are so proud of. Time passes....but somethings never change, only the package they come in.
Posted by: Dudley1 on June 1, 2007 07:07 AMTeresa, I din't say that you didn't read the post, dah! I said that you didn't fully comprehend it. You didn't take any time for thinking about what Dudley1 had taken the time to write. You had yourself what is called a kneejerk reaction based upon your feelings.
Muy Importante is very important=the language of love for your beloved Dumasscrats, learn that, ebonics and the Koran to get along in Pelosi and shillery's future version of Amerika.
You asked me why your son had to go? I don't know, I didn't ask him. Did you? My guess is because he volunteered? Weren't you in on his decision and up his recruiters ass? I thought not.
I'm not in charge of the State Department, I don't know why or if Iraqis are coming here. Maybe they come for the good health care and/or to get in on the new Amnesty BS.
You didn't touch a nerve with Sir Dudley1. The above average white guy isn't your enemy. Neither am I. May I suggest you scrub your tub, pour in some lavish bubbles, light a candle and have yourself a good soak? If you got a man in your life, invite him in to wash your hair.
You will feel better and it will give your jerky knee some time to relax. Thanks for reading, now Just Do it!?
Thank you Sir Dudley, I'm honored.
Posted by: LisaKay on June 1, 2007 10:25 AMTeresa-
