Remember when it was disclosed that a congressman from La. was under investigation for corruption? Not one MSM told what party he was from. Hell it took Ole Rush only one day to keep telling the story and reminding people that he was William Jefferson (D) Louisiana. Then it was finally picked up on and then they could not hide it anymore. I remember some caller to C-Span brought it up to some Yo Yo and she skirted around it. I'll attempt to type slowly so you can understand. Denny's post was about the fact that 99% of the time when a politician does something bad the media will only mention the political affiliation if the crook in question is a Republican. If the crook in question is a Democrat then the party affiliation is "accidentally" omitted.

Denny's reference to the politicians race was an aside to explain that he knew the political affiliation prior to reading the article. Like it or not, it is a fairly safe assumption that a black politician in the south will be a Democrat. It is not racist or xenophobic to notice something that is quite obvious. An attempt to explain why most black people are Democrats could possibly expose one to charges of racism, but just noting the fact does not.

I'll type this real slow so that even Sally can get it...

Nowhere in the post did Denny state that "...there are no black republicans".

What he did say was that... "The chance of a Republican being black and an Atlanta city councilman is about the same as my spinal cord regenerating."

Granted there are a lot. There's county officials, city, sheriffs, judges etc. My point being is that you shouldn't ever allow the press to influence your decision on who you vote for. Find out where that person stands on postions of interest to you and vote accordingly. The American public should be doing there own research and not relying on AM radio, blogs, or the press to tell them how to think.
