Nope! This isn't the real one, just some asshole at Walmart.
I got in the express lane and there was a guy ahead of me with only three items. First, he told the checkout lady that this was two orders. After the first two items were rung up, he paid for them in cash. So far, so good. For the third item he had to write a check. He didn't even have his checkbook out. He got it, and then took forever to write the freaking check. Then the checkout lady needed to see his driver's license. He didn't have that out and ready either.
What an asshole! The only way he could have pissed me off more would have been him talking on a cellphone. He doesn't get the AOTW award, he gets the Pain in the Ass Award.

first time I have heard of this being a guy. it is usually an older woman who pulls the checkbook out and starts slowly writing the check. the cherry on the cake is when they fill in their check register BEFORE giving the check to the cashier....wtf??
everyone, get a debit card and bank online. It is beautiful.
Posted by: patrick on July 27, 2007 04:10 PMOf course, he could have been an illegal alien speaking on a cell phone in espanol. Damn, that woulda been that guy's unlucky day.
Cripples go wild! I'd pay to see that.
Posted by: Erica on July 27, 2007 04:39 PMEver get some asshole in the express lane with 40 items and unloads them on the counter while the young lady trys to explain that it is an express lane and then gives up and lets them proceed? I'm standing there with a damn six pack trying to rush home to watch a ball game. Oh well, life is a bitch!
Posted by: gene Hall on July 27, 2007 04:52 PMWal Mart shopper? You?
Posted by: vicki on July 27, 2007 10:56 PMvicki - They got one in Dunwoody. May as well use it. Why buy underwear and socks at Nordstroms?
Posted by: Denny on July 27, 2007 11:54 PMWhat that guy didn't know is that walfart will turn it into a electronic debt. So you might as well use your debt card at this place. I have not made a purchase in there in over a year, I don't believe in there business practices and the dump brings out the non English speaking lowlifes.
Posted by: Greg1 on July 28, 2007 07:21 PMWhenever I'm in line at the grocery store or anywhere that has a '15 items or less' lane and some asshole has 30 items, I try to strike up a conversation about their items, and when they least expect it, I ask them, "you voted for Kerry didn't you?" 99% of the time the answer is yes. If they ask me how I knew that, I just smile and say, "I could tell."
Denny, no doubt the major asshole in front of you was a card-carrying liberal cocksucker. They claim to "care" about everyone else, but they are the most selfish people on this planet. Who the hell still writes checks at Walmart anyways? Are these people still living in the 20th Century? The only checks I write are to pay bills through snail mail.
That's why we have credit cards/debit cards/check cards.
Quick. Simple. Fast.

Maybe the reason the dumbshit had to write a check is because they do not have good enough credit to get a credit card. Welfare & Credit Cards do not go hand in hand.
Posted by: dudley1 on July 29, 2007 11:59 AMdudley1-
Maybe the stupid fucker didn't have good enough credit to get a credit card, but then there are check cards which withdrawl the dinero directly from your checking account. Works just like a debit card. No credit of any kind is needed, and it saves everyone time.
Reminds me of discussions with Mr. Mo and friends. And yep, it's usually huhwoman we're talkin' about.
(It's too bad that many seniors are scared of the new technology, but they're the only ones I will allow the excuse.)
This post and comments remind me of a recent Rachel tirade :-)
Mo - This dude was younger than I am. I put him in his 40's. I know Rachel ranted about it. I wasn't trying to rip her off.
Posted by: Denny on July 30, 2007 08:11 PMCD,
What makes you think people that have poor credit are smart enough to figure out how to use a check card?
Posted by: Squidley on August 1, 2007 04:12 AMGood point Squidley-
I guess I was hoping for the best...
