They were on last night? Really? First I heard of it. I probably wouldn't have even heard of it today if not for all the fuss about Gidget the Flying Nun Sally Fields being cut off. I've never seen the show that she got the award for. Looks like a lot of other people didn't know they were on.
The show averaged a 10.5 metered-market household rating and 16 share from 8 to 11:15 p.m., according to Nielsen, down 20 percent from last year’s 13.1/20 for the show on NBC.
These self-congratulatory Hollywood awards shows keep losing viewers. I wonder why?
Posted by denny at September 17, 2007 03:49 PMFields looked and sounded ridiculous, as most aging has-beens do when they make a come-back.
Posted by: vicki on September 17, 2007 04:57 PMEmmy Awards? I thought they were the Enemy Awards. As much as they rant and rave against our nation, it would be the better name.
Posted by: Jeremy on September 17, 2007 07:36 PMDenny's right, the Emmy ratings continue their decline. Pretty soon, cable customers will receive a discount on their monthly bill if they simply tune in. Ha! They'd have to discount 6 months off my bill. What a bunch of self-important elitist assholes.
Posted by: Paul on September 17, 2007 08:01 PMEmmy awards?????
What with the penchance for diarrhea of the mouth ...don`t you mean Enema Awards?
Posted by: dudley1 on September 17, 2007 08:42 PMOK Denny, you need a rating system like little green footballs has so readers can choose,
Is it Enemy Awards? or Enema Awards?
We need to settle this for posterity.
So what that Sally was speachless. I was speachless when my son was hit by an IED after only being in Iraq for a few weeks. She spoke from the heart and spoke for the Mother's with children in Iraq. So what she said God Damn. She never said any anything bad about Dubya and yet got censored. Unfarking believable.
Posted by: Teresa W. on September 17, 2007 10:53 PMTeresa W. - Go read what Rachel has to say. Oh yeah. It was Fox News. That why they cesored it. BTW, it's speechless.

Posted by: ty guy on September 18, 2007 04:06 AMSally Field's show is full of faggotry. I turned the the show on three times, and two fruits were playing footsies every time. Even Xmas eve last year. I will take the zero.
Posted by: vetfromhell on September 18, 2007 05:08 AM"Nor would it be different if “mothers” were suddenly put in charge. I feel vicarious resentment of that claim because if I were a man with children, I’d really like to know just what in the hell makes Sally Field think women love their children more than men do."
As a father, I applaud this. Thank you, Rachel. I really am sick of these sanctimonious buttpipes running their mouths with absolutely no inkling of the verbal diarrhea that they're spewing all over their hapless viewers.
I suppose these self-righteous assholes constitute the downside to the First Amendment. I'm just glad that I didn't watch that garbage in the first place, and I'm getting all of this info second hand. If I'd actually watched that narcissistic tripe, I would probably still be ranting for the next three days or so.
Posted by: F. Jenkins on September 18, 2007 01:47 PMAs luck would have it, I watched the Emmys. Hadn't watched it in years. Sally Field got censored for saying 'goddamned'. But Ray Romano also got censored for saying 'Frazier is screwing my wife'. It was weird to watch it. Instead of bleeping, they cut to an image of the globe spinning high above the crowd. I thought the director just made an error. I'd much rather have them just bleep the speaker, instead of the odd camera angle. Why, either of these were censored seems strange to me.
What was more offensive was a montage of all the late night shows' Bush bashings. Funnier was Lewis Black's rant on network news.
And who did Ryan Seacrest suck off in order to host the Emmys?
Posted by: Jerry on September 18, 2007 03:07 PMYeah, ya gotta love Fox news. They Do claim to be unbiased so it must be true. I read what Rachel had to say and was not impressed. At least I try to understand.

Teresa-
I think you meant to say, "faux news". Afterall, it must be true.
Let us know when CNN is unbiased, Dan Blather reports accurate, (but accurate) news, and Billary is going to protect the Border.
I'm waiting on pins and needles...
Posted by: CharlieDelta on September 19, 2007 01:06 AMShe got censored because she swore - which I appreciate. If I swore at Kabbulah (sp.) I should get censored also. Sure, let's make this GWB's fault too - how ridiculous!
Posted by: Anastasia on September 20, 2007 09:56 AMAlso, as a woman and a Mother. Don't think I wouldn't send troops to a land where such haters live. I WOULD not be whimpie about it either. Kicking ass and getting the job DONE! Why? To protect MY children and MY country.

I won't keep you waiting on pins and needles Charlie but would encourage you to watch All the news channels to form an accurate opinion because they all feed us bull. And Rather doesn't count and I would Really love for someone to step up to the plate to protect our borders.

-Thanks for the encouragement Teresa, but why in the world should I watch news channels to form an "accurate" opinion? I can do that simply by observing what's going on around me. I really don't need the "news" to "help" me form an opinion.
And Rather doesn't count and I would Really love for someone to step up to the plate to protect our borders.
What do you mean Rather doesn't count? He sure counted for you in '04 didn't he? C'mon Teresa, if you don't want to be honest with me, at least be honest with yourself...
I too, would love to seal the border, but we both know that isn't going to happen any time soon. Maybe if your Lib buddies would wake up, it just might happen one of these days.
It's all Jorge' Boooosh's fault, don't ya know?
