National Healthcare sez that we have a NEW FREEDOM: an ability to tell Joe Yuck that what he or she has 'got' is treatable, is already paid for & that if He/She does NOT accept treatment (albeit perhaps after a long-wait time) that they are in violation of Law and can be sent to fucking-Prison for not taking advantage of the simple cure that would benefit us all.

Let's say, for the sake of argument, that it cost us each an aggregate of $1,200 a year. For that 1.2K/Annual, LOOK AT THE NEW POWER AVAILABLE TO YOU!

You'd be able to say, ...NAY.... you'd be able to DEMAND that Joe Schmuck take advantage of what is already paid for.

National healthcare would vest you with POWER you never dreamed of!

I do have serious discontent with the current system: If you are an illegal, really poor, or over 65 then you can currently get nationalized health care. If you are working and none of the above then you are SOL...not good.

There is an organization here in Dallas called "The National Center for Policy Analysis" www.ncpa.org the mantra is "private solutions to public problems". Go here for some answers that make sense.

If our employers weren't paying for the vast amount of employee health care premiums, then we would certainly have higher incomes. Now, if universal health care passes, will these corporations then increase salaries and hourly wages? Probably not. So, who benefits? We certainly don't because our wages won't increase and then we'll be taxed on universal health care so this puts most of middle class families in double jeopardy. Corporate America wins. Government wins. The people lose. SNAFU.

What about the borders? Are we going to shut those down if universal health care passes? So many questions. No answers. Keep government out of our health care. That's my answer because the last thing I want is some government bureaucrat controlling my life like that.

So whats gonna be the penalty for failing to buy health insurance ? Does it mean you cant be treated ? Or are they gonna slap a big ass fine on ya . What if you have a permanant medical problem will your insurance rate be the same as a healthy persons ?

For what it's worth, such an understanding on my part has allowed me to shitcan just about any and all prescription drugs. There's one or two I still have to take, but the goal is to simply accept my life with nary a drug in it.

Dan - You are correct. It is a foregone conclusion. Talk to any health care professional and he/she will agree. Now ask them if they are in favor and they will say no. Why? Because they have to deal with Medicare and Medicaid and they see what clusterfucks those programs are. The major problems with our health care systems have been caused by the gummint and ambulance chasers like the Silk Pony. Seriously, do you want the same people who run the IRS and the DMV to run our health care system?

Dan, the only problem is we HAVE seen what happens when the gov't puts it hands on anything. There plan starts out with good intentions, then it grows into this monsterous entity that is so full of BS that it drains money (in the form of taxes) from the people. Take for example us smokers. We are paying the lions share of the SCHIPS program here in Texas. An extra 1.00 a pack they now cost 4.85 a pack here compared to 3.85 a pack last year. What are the libs are trying to pass at every turn? No smoking laws! If no one can smoke than how are the SCHIPs programs going to be paid for as the years progress? Do you think, that if there is not enough tax revenue from the smokers to pay for the program that the gov't will kill the program? Hell no they will find a way to re-route the cost to every other person in some sort of tax. A tax on a minority only escalates to a tax on everyone at some point. Next time you get sick, go knock on your neighbors doors and ask them to give you $20 to help pay for your doctor visit. See how many takers you get and how many people tell you to get lost! That is what HELLary care v2.0 is asking you to do.

The scenario you posit may indeed be true for you, but I assure you that (from experience) kicking in $20, $50 a Hundred or more is a facet of the quality of life in at least this neighborhood.

You obviously don't buy into what I call the "4-Day-Weekend"-principle: Them that has provides for those who don't. It comes a point of PRIDE to be a provider.

Obviously, this is not the place to expand on that, but it boils down to something you might understand: if, on a given 4-day weekend, you found yourself without cigarettes, you would not go wanting, no matter the cost, to those who were not smoker's...
